    That socket is part #W83010 (O'Reillys) and the size is 2-5/8". I had to pause-play-pause-play-pause-play this video until I could see that part # on the socket.
    Thank you very much for your time in making this video!

    That's the best little youtube video I've found on auto work! Short, but informative. Really appreciate it. Kind of frustrating sometimes to watch one of these that takes 20+ minutes and doesn't really address the problem. Big thanks to you and your son!

    Fantastic! I’ve seen were the lug nuts were threaded down flush to the face of the bolt , that being said it’s awesome to have you teach your little apprentice also! GO HAWKS !👍🇨🇦

    Thanks for the video! Was just about to take a swing on my rotor thinking it was just stuck and decided to double check. Big help! Used to Toyota’s and my old 2002 F 250.

    Helpful tips
    When removing large snap ring anchor one end with a needle nose vise grip and work the other end out of the groove with a flat screwdriver. On my truck the hub nut was 2 3/4 hex with a C clip with a keeper running into the splines 95 f250 4x4 460 with 3850lb front axel.

    For anyone who needs to know the proper size of the spindle nut socket it’s 2 1/2 inches. We purchased ours at advance auto parts but you can look it up online as well.

    You did excellent on this video compared to whats out here on these trucks. (as i think of guys removing studs with the lug nuts on them)...You should do a re assemble video.....especially if your doing the beartings/races/seals...-just saying.- J

    For the socket I thought I bought the wrong one but it ended up being more solid and no issues with slipping to get the proper torque.
    Power built, 4 lug x 2-1/2" inner Spindle nut.

    • @minutemanconstructionllc2219
      @minutemanconstructionllc2219 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it is a specialty socket for bearing locknuts. I believe I bought this one at NAPA a few years back. It was made by performance tool and the number on it is W83010

    • @SnakeRiverFishing
      @SnakeRiverFishing 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      the 4 slotted nut is 2 1/2" outside diameter I have a CAL VAN 320 socket I use for those or a Performance Tool W1273 is the same they sell for around $20 shipped on ebay.

    Name of the Tool he used?

    • @dannyjade4827
      @dannyjade4827  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've heard them referred to as a spline socket, or hub socket; but like many tools, they may have other names. I went to NAPA, told them what I was working on, and they provided that socket. The other tool is called a hammer;)

    • @dannyjade4827
      @dannyjade4827  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are various tools needed; jack and stands, a typical socket set, allen or torx keys, split ring pliers (possibly), vise grips if you need to pinch the brake lines, hammer, and a cold chisel are what I recall off hand.
      Best of luck to you!

      @Beau Cat I'm not sure how to text through this TH-cam app, but I'll answer any questions I know how.
      Determination, common sense, and paying attention to how things come apart is my best advice. You got this.
