Thanks! This looks very interesting. I currently use a LEAP motion controller to convert hand gestures to MIDI and I find it really intuitive for adding expression and vibrato to string samples that implement them, amongst other things. In addition to translating up, down, forward, back and roll, the Leap interprets open and close hand gestures and it also recognises the left and right hand as two separate gesture sets.
The advantage that this Ring has over the Leap, as I can see at first glance, is that it works no matter where you are sitting. The leap needs for you to be making your gestures directly above it, so placement of the controller is a major consideration. I keep moving mine when it's not in use (Why do I always need to have three pieces of equipment in the same place at once?🤪).
The advertising strap-line for this could be "I got the ring...let me do my thing"? ...or maybe not! 🤣
Oh, and another thing, please remember to take it off when you go to the bathroom!

So cool, but it's a Bluetooth MIDI-enabled device. Idk how reliable would that be. It would be great if it had it's own USB into computer
or MIDI directly into hardware type of thing. I mean, a dedicated receiver for the ring’s data would seem way more reliable than Bluetooth.

💯yessir - looks like the difference is mainly in how signal is received. The neiva claims the connection is 8 times better than Bluetooth. I gotta get my hands on one and put it to the test!
Neovo is the pro level of this Genki controller, imagine being on stage doing a live set relying on this to perform flawlessly and a few thousand bluetooth devices competing for signal, scanning, etc would just kill the connection. I imagine the Genki would be best for practice and as an into intro this tech but the proprietary protocol of the Neovo isn't bluetooth, so it won't be hit with all of the bluetooth requests/interference while performing. Other than the latency difference between the protocols, there's the software. I'd like to try both, honestly, before just guessing. even a 50-100ms latency difference would be worth the price difference though. 50ms is huge, and it is pretty well regarded that humans do not react that fast but I fly racing drones, and video latency is a big issue when you are doing 70mph 50ms is over a hundred feet of movement. I have flown multiple devices with varying latency values and lower is definitely perceivable to a fine tuned human in their element. I digress. Excited to see both of these products on the market. I now have a package on the way from france.
