I was so blown away at how awesome the start of this trilogy went! CGI is spectacular, acting is incredible, and the story is just perfect! Join me as I watch Rise of the Planet of the Apes for the first time today!
Caesar, a chimpanzee, has been with Will ever since he was born, and, with a new drug, he can think and react like humans. When Caesar finds himself subjected to injustice, he decides to revolt.

I really wish to experience that again, the theater dropped dead for a few seconds lol

I know it's merely 10 years old, but man do I think this one's underrated! It's overshadowed by Dawn and War, damnit!

DEMONITIZE
Yes, the first "remake" of the POTA. We don't talk about that one. That was basically a studio trying to cash in on the Apes franchise. THIS was created by people who knew the series and loved the story and poured their hearts and soul into it's creation. And that makes all the difference. I grew up with the original POTA and was always in love with the apes. This one made me fall in love all over again.
When Caesar tells Will, "Caesar is home," that gave me chills, too. So did that first "NO"!
I don't think the Burton film should be entirely discounted. The makeup effects are astounding.
Tim Burton doesn't do cash grabs.
Caesar was this wise and gentle ape in all the movies that came before. In this trilogy he basically lived up to his name🧐
He was a good boy. He could have been violent and cruel, he chose not to be
He was also the direct instigator of the planet becoming a planet of apes in the older movies too, all that time travel stuff. I do remember it being quite neat but pretty silly, how they found those religious folks who worshipped a mega nuke that could conveniently blow up the whole planet, and that zapping Caesar’s parents back in time to indirectly bring their society into being, and how it originated the idea of a movie franchise story revolving around history needing to repeat itself over and over again.
This trilogy really is one of my all time favorites. Great writing and performances. And everything slowly comes together over the 3 movies.
Don’t forget how physiologically deep they are
Its refreshing to have a trilogy still so young to enjoy. gotta hold onto those good films, they're getting rarer and rarer now.

Having had a grandfather that suffered from the disease really made this movie hit home. It's truly a terrible thing to have, having to watch as the one you care about slowly deteriorate as their very memories of you fade as well. So that's probably why I couldn't be that mad at the company for wanting to progress this project.
I have never clicked on a movie reaction by somebody so quickly. This is one of my all-time favorite film series and it makes me so glad when people start watching these true underrated gems for the first time
I love the performance of Andy Serkis and Terry Notary, they do an outstanding performance on the portrait of the apes. I really love the triology😍
There are not enough reactors that react to this amazing series. Definitely one of my all time favorite. I agree, the transition of him growing up in the redwoods is beautiful and SO smooth. This movie is just artistry in the cinema world.
God, this is my favourite trilogy ever, I'm so happy you're reacting to it! The fact that one of my all time favourite characters is a CGI chimpanzee speaks volumes for how amazing Andy Serkis is.

They should have an Oscar for best motion capture performance! Andy Serkis would have multiple Oscars by now.
When Caesar first spoke, the audience made a collective gasp and then total deafening silence. Not a peep for three seconds.

this trilogy is my second favorite reboot series of a really old movie series I've watched,the first one is the MonsterVerse,which I really really hope you will react to eventually,I mean,one of the two protagonists is King Kong,and you seem to love Planet of the Apes so that's perfect,Kong is basically a gorilla,an ape,a big giant one for sure but still one

honestly this is probably my favourite movie franchise of all time, i am so happy to see someone react to this, Dawn is my favourite of the 3 but Rise is a great watch as well, really helps set up Dawn

Absolutely love this movie and trilogy, the journey caesar goes on in this film is just so emotionally powerful and it's great how they make you sympathize with the apes!

As someone in the animal field and has been able to work with chimpanzees before , I can tell you being attacked by a chimp is probably one of the most terrifying things anyone can ever experience.... their strength is incredible and they can kill so easily

This is the start of one of cinema's best ever trilogies, easily the best trilogy of the 2010's.

When this was in theaters, it was so amazing when he first spoke everyone in the theaters were amazed didn't know what to say or think, A fucking + of a movie, all the movies were good, even the old ones too, I like the one with mark Wahlberg.

I first saw this movie when It came out, I was 11 and it traumatized me so bad lol! It was the first like “violent” movie I saw other than the fourth Harry Potter movie and I remember being so freaked out by the helicopter bit. It’s such a good movie though!!!

In the originals, it was Caesar that started it all (in movie 4, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes).
Just so u know during the credits the guy that was sneezed on the shitty neighbor I mean was a pilot and it’s implied he spread the disease around the world and that’s how we wind up at “Dawn”
