    What I've always loved about Ido is how he cuts through all the prescriptive dogma in regards to physicality, he truly understands biomechanics in a way the fitness industry, clinicians and homeopaths do not. Anti hypochondria, anti narcissistic, top down neurological approach that promotes diversity of practice, intuitive growth, anti fragility, integrating injuries and impingements through movement patterns and through somatic awareness. Him and Wim Hof are my biggest inspirations in terms of physical transformation and depth of knowledge.

      They are natural beings, very spiritually connected. If enlightenment was a movement it would be animal flow / primal movement, just living naturally the way existence intended us all to live. society's are closed and unnatural. This is how we are meant to be. Them among others use their natural innate intelligence to guide them. You are very correct in what you say.

    True. Finally someone's thought matched with mine. I can't stick to some limited movements. Whenever I start workout I always end up with different movements. It was always too difficult for me to stick to limited routine.
    My movements are always weird and I've been laughed at often.

    It is a misleading and clickbaiting title, making it sound (before watching) like he is totally denouncing them. When in fact he just encourages people to become familiar with different movement disciplines. As a means of expanding your potential and thus increasing your freedom to move more. You can have daily yoga practice, and still learn some movement from martial arts or gymnastics, which increases your movement capabilities. This is his point.

      How is it misleading, or worse "clickbait," when the subjects in the title were covered and explained. He explains that yoga limits your movements because it does not incorporate the very natural human movements of hanging and pulling. He's stated in other interviews that he thinks gymnastics is the only sport that incorporates all body movements. His point isn't, "You can have daily yoga practice, and still learn some movement from martial arts or gymnastics, which increases your movement capabilities." Thats your own personal iteration of it, but not what he believes. He believes we need to get away from the modern dogmas of fitness and get back to understanding the basic human nature of our bodies movements.
      The title doesn't imply he denounces anything and no where in the video does he denounce the benefits of anything. He simply states what they are lacking and how that can LIMIT your overall movements, when practiced over long periods of time.

    As a result of hurting my ankle a few months ago I started to do Yoga (more the power stuff) as another form of exercise to keep the impact off my ankle. Love it, however, I am fully aware of the lack of pull and feel a pull up bar is crucial. As a person who isn’t really into spiritualism I use yoga as exercise first and relaxation second….. spirituality not so much. So in that I see the deficiency. However, I will continue because it’s great.

      I think yoga is very good for flexibility but adding hanging also just aides shoulder flexibility. Dance (and martial arts) is better for movement, and it relates to the environment and another human. I just add bar hanging, squatting and barefoot running to my martial-arts workout.

      @@afreespirit5444yoga as it is advertised in most public sectors is approached solely from the perspective of muscular motor activity. But that’s the error: yoga is not a science where its results come solely, or even primarily from the direct muscular effects of the movements or postures in question. The integration of disciplined focus, resilience and coordination of body functions is what the practice focuses on from its exercise forms.
      Even from a basic physiological assessment, there’s ideologies that make no sense when discussing yoga. For example, the claim of yoga = flexibility… I don’t see how to remains a mindset. The are numerous lever, plank and inversion movements that require top-level strength and muscular control to perform. Second, there are literally thousands of different physical yoga forms within the large library of hatha bodywork disciplines. One is Sukshma Vyayama, which 48 different exercises, very few of which are static forms. The Bihar School also contains a series of exercises that include animal walks lol. So folks have to be specific about what they are talking about when it comes to assessing disciplines

      thats actually not what he is saying. he says yoga and other sports have a lot of good aspects but are missing some other. explore movement as much as possible. not just yoga

    then why are you doing pull ups with gymnastic rings? its also a tool, do it without pull up rings, lol.

    • @RKStrider
      @RKStrider 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      That's not the point he was making. Tools are constricting in the overall coverage/ranges of movement of the human body. In the video, he said to "Think of yourself as a mover first, and then as a specialist second". Instead of specializing in one discipline like for example only doing pull-ups with gymnastic rings, you can also improve shoulder health by swimming with different strokes. Don't rely on one specific tool, but move between them.

    LAMO.. kid has no idea on the difficulty level and strength required for advanced yoga

    • @RKStrider
      @RKStrider 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Yoga is great, but it's missing pulling movements in general if you're only moving on a yoga mat. Also grip strength training. Etc. The point is to be interdisciplinary rather than a specialist.

    • @anatta467
      @anatta467 ปีที่แล้ว

      agreed. but does not take strength for advanced yoga. Its all mind

    This is the kind of narcissism that’s confusing us in the west. This dude has no idea what yoga is 🤦🏾‍♂️

      He's not talking about the whole idea of yoga, but the movement side of it. Try to understand the idea - the tools, the "disciplines", put us in certain way of movements, which is limiting it.

      Sorry, but it is exact opposite and you just have no idea what he says.. He knows very well what yoga is, he just talks about much bigger picture :)
