I've heard the same for the 5th gens too. Best thing u can do it run amsoil some high quality oil. People swapping the 4th gen 6.7s in the 5th gen now. They got tuning for the 22s

I got a 5th gen, just make sure you swap to the CP3 and more importantly replace the heater bolt with the BANKS turbo elbow. Awesome power and peace of mind. Other than that these 5th gen are monsters. I have scale receipts with 38k gvwr no issues in the so called summer in mountains

I regeared my 4th gen. Just like hes talking. I went with 3.73. It pulls my 6000 pound camping trailer so much better.

Awesome knowledge and straight talk, my 2007 6.7 (1 ton dually) has over 1/2 a million miles on the original 68RFE and Engine the truck has been used for years as work-horse doing alot of USA & Canada coast to coast with alot of mountain driving, the truck is used for commetcial hot-shot driving hauling heavy loads
thinking more power then stock would be nice and really appreciate tbis truthful knowledge about possibly upgrading the transmission before concedering upgrading (the stock minus cold air-intake) engine
please keep up sharing both your knowledge & insight because you are helping directing others in making better and wiser decisions which clearly indicates "you prove to be a possible blessing to others" thank you for your most awsome video's which I'm confident that many others including myself really appreciate
really not sure what, Im going do with my work-horse although before doing anything, I will heed to your knowledge and advice, saying this because you asked for comments

Having my 13.5 with 68 rebuilt as we speak. Has 190K miles. I tow often. 10K pound fifth wheel camper and equipment. Smoked it driving through the Adirondacks with camper. Valve body, cooler, billet Tq converter, output and input shafts, tune and more… got 190K out of stock trans with delete and tune. Not complaining… good vid! Good info! Ty

I seen somewhere something about switching the filters attachment thingy , its threaded plastic to be replaced with a metal one , cause the plastic one will loosen up on its own , not sure if thats this transmision or not , i heard it a long time ago , maybe they dont do that now ?

One of the things I think would top this list would be the thermostatic bypass upgrade from stock. Its purpose is to warm up transmission fluid faster and to fully open at 160F. A lot of people misdiagnose a sticking bypass valve as a bad trans cooler, too small of a cooler, or a radiator cooling fan issue. Its malfunction is characterized by above normal transmission temperatures and not cooling off rapidly at idle. During the transmission teardown, there will be seals that are hard and brittle from the thermal oxidization degradation. It takes a very short amount of time for a stuck bypass valve to do a whole lot of damage. The increased temperature typically cooks the plate seals and then burns out clutches.
Even worse, the transmission shop servicing your truck may not replace it when they rebuild your transmission so you just have another blown transmission. This is definitely a worthwhile upgrade to any truck at any time but especially if you see your transmission temperatures exceeding 180F (even while towing a fifth wheel camper uphill). It's less than an hour of work and will eventually save your transmission.

@@lecarey96 Nearly every reputable tuner has stopped tuning 6.7s in the past nine months due to EPA pressure. Some do offer emissions on, others just tune 5.9s now.

So far I’ve done a trans tune, deep trans pan, thermo trans block delete and an ATS case brace on my 2018 Ram 2500 Cummins. My trans runs between 135 and 145 now. My truck is setup for towing my 5th wheel. Stock 18” rims and tires, no lift. Truck is deleted and studded with an open 4” exhaust.

Damn bro favorite video...? Thats tough there are so many great videos! I would say a lot of your older "how to" videos because it got me wrenching on my own truck which does give one self a prideful feeling of being capable to accomplish work yourself and learn your truck... but also a video that sticks out to me is the one where old boy takes a compressor cover off the turbo and like boars out the silencing ring on the 6.7 Cummins and sends you back the cover and makes the turbo whistle whistle!! I Love the sound of a Cummins but to get that Grunt of the Cummins and the whistle of a duramax on the Cummins i always tought was a cool video and great sound even though it is just kinda of a sound mod...? I guess lol... and i miss the eyelid mod you had on the old headlights the wrap on top. Bet and many more......
