That is really cool. It took me 18 months of genealogy research and DNA comparisons and a little luck to find my bio dad. The “Brick Wall” was that my grandmother was adopted. Congrats on finding your family
They usually think they dont want you to be more confused until you are old enough to appreciate the dilemma they were in at the time they gave you up to people who were then more capable to raise you. That's the general experience.

My partner did an ancestry DNA in 2020. It took her 6 months to find her biological father and her mother’s biological family.
She was completely rejected 😞 by her biological father and his children. Unfortunately her mother and her mother adopted parents passed in 2009. She will never know the true story. She was left with more questions.
I had an old roommate was adopted. He has one full brother, who at the time thought they were cousins, my roommate had been told about by his adopted parents. Those two looked so much alike. He met his Maternal half-sister and when she came to visit the second time she brought her girlfriend. While they were talking my roommate realized the girlfriend was his Paternal half-sister. Few months later he utter the sentence I'll never forget... "My Sisters broke up."
I am not adopted but I have seen a lot of stories about adoptees and the biological mothers for the most part feel forced to give their child up because the mother loves their child and that love doesn’t die. Your bio mom didn’t raise you but the bond she felt having you never died. Glad it was a wonderful experience for you!!
I was forced into giving up custody of my son when he was 8yrs old. The public school filed a case of educational neglect saying that all parents who reschedule conferences due to work schedules should have their children removed, in writing. The case is not criminal which allows me to still hold a job. The case was open for 5yrs with no findings of anything wrong. Then the judge started abusing the system inorder to remove my child and ruin our family. My American born son was trafficked to Belgium. Full custody was given to the other parent. I call the child protection services here and they tell me that I'm not a mother anymore. My son's grandmother calls (who was not involved in the court stuff and who did not give up her rights) the child agency tells her she's not a grandmother anymore and that she's never going to see him again. I want to be allowed to see my son but the American government won't let me. I know the American government told my sons father lies about me, they lie in court and abuse the system. I miss my son 😪
I took a DNA test, two yrs ago, A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by a person that the DNA test was my first cousin. Since then I have been in contact with my two have brothers, and many others family members. I hope to meet up with them this fall. Enjoy

Can I find my adopted granddaughter this way? I haven't seen her since she was 5 and she's now 21. My heart still breaks. I can find the family that raised her, but they brainwashed her against me and don't want me to see the girl my own daughter brought into the world. Do you know how I can get around them and find her? I love her so much and nearly didn't survive the adoption. She was everything to me.

Hope your relationship with your biological family is still going well. I’m waiting on my ancestry results now and I’m 55 , and also an adoptee of a closed adoption and know nothing. My adoptive parents took all the info to their graves. I have searched since I was 18 and found nothing. Your story gives me hope as I feel I’ll have zero matches and I’m going to die never knowing who I truly am. Thanks for sharing your story.

Yha I also have than feeling. I think my situation may be harder since I’m in USA and my unknown parents are in Russia so DNA test may be harder.
I was not adopted but I am looking for my father I even asked my mom and she's not saying anything about my father I don't know why really when wrong. I will be so glad to see him cause I know he's looking for me too.

What is a closed adoption
Great question. It means that I didn't have much contact with my biological family. I could write them and they could write me but using different names and the adoption agency sent them to and from us as a third party. The adoption agency gave misinformation to my bio parents and my adoptive parents as to when letters could be written. I thought my mom (bio) just stopped writing me but she was told she couldn't. We technically could have sued them for mistreatment but decided not to.
