I took your advice and signed up on registries. Some search angels found me that way and my mother was found very quickly. Just yesterday is when I got flooded with information. I was lucky. I am amazed at how fast she was found. It took people with skill.
Orobiller, it actually seems to me that adoptees have an advantage at finding birth parents as even if records are sometimes closed at least there are some. My bio mom had me at age 16 here in Chicago n seen my bio dad that one night n never again. Therefore doesn't know his name, what he looks like, where he lived etc. I just did a My Heritage test as I'm now age 52 n need to know. My results will be ready on the 30 th of this month. I hope I finally find out?
my mother was given up for adoption (closed adoption 1960). she had no desire to find her birth parents. but she passed away at age 50 of unknown causes. so im inspired to find her parents to find out about family medical history. and also i would love to meet people who look like me and share my blood and dna. how can i search for biological grandparents? i believe 1960 is not included in the years of closed adoptions that are now being opened.
Thank you for providing a legitimate site. I have also registered to the site.I am hoping to find my biological parents and also know if I have any siblings out there. I have been searching since I was 18 and I am now 39.
I was adopted in 2004 and i know my mothers name... But im still looking since 2016... And im withchild living on the streets. But working hard for my mother...
Gracie Wardell if u are 18 u will be able to if u have some information on them there’s a search squad team on Facebook u can get in touch with them they will help you

This is a great vid! How do the sites that are birth parents looking for child. it's not aggressive by either party is it? I suppose going to website doesn't necessarily mean you will find the true match. I guess there are rip off people out there., I guess I'm a little afraid to do it. What if I'm rejected. what if anything else? good vid, glad you happy!
Orobiller, I think you got lucky and may have been the exception of a birth parent looking for his child while at the same time you were looking for him. It may be much harder to find the birth parent if they (parent or parents) don't want contact. Do you have any other suggestions for how to search for birth parent? Thanks, Ed
Yes that is true. However, I have had some success using the same hints that are mentioned in the video even with some who were not looking to be found. The point is.....exhaust all your options if you want to find someone. Have an open mind and please respect others if you find or in the process of speaking to others
All the adopted children should go to Ancestry.com to help. It worked for a Nashville teacher and an Arizona man last week. It will also tell you who your parents are NOT, which will save lots told time in your search.
I think children should not look for their birth parents. I actually believe that if you are deciding weather to abort or adopt this is the main thing to consider. It's just not fair that someone chose to safeguard your life instead of aborting you and then you pop back into their life after 20 years. Don't choose adoption if because they will always find you. Always!
brandy how do you feel about a mother forced to give their child up at 14 and had no choice & that child wants to find there parent do you think that is wrong
I am an adoptee..and I always wanted to know my mother and biological family. I found them when I was 15 and my Mother was also very glad we found one another.@Brandy..I don't know why you feel the way that you do, but not everyone shares your views. Many , many do not..that includes both adoptees and biological parents/families.
Brandy wine - Being myself a 13 y/o adopted from Russia, I think it's really interesting and scary at the same time! Kind of exciting? Knowing where you came from? Knowing your history :).. BUT, everyone has their own perspective on it. One person may want to meet their parents/family, another might not. And obviously people shouldn't set their hopes up high because they could be setting themselves up for dissapointment... Anyways, just because you met your family doesn't mean it's a horrible idea for other people. It's not a bad thing for family to "pop" back into your own life. Personally I'd rather have my (birth)parents hate me then me not knowing who they are or at least seeing if they're OK... so yeah.
+London Rose_xoxo : Hi London Rose..that can be a tough one I'm sure. I think the best way is to try and have a heart to heart talk with Mom. Don't let it get heated even if that's hard. Just explain to your Mom how you feel and why you need to know. If she doesn't say anything right away, stay patient and ask here to think about it. Then ask if you could talk again in a few days. Keep in mind that Mom might be trying to protect you and that it may take time for her to come around. There could be reasons that we are not aware of.

As a male, you can do a Y-DNA test. FamilyTreeDNA offers this, and my grandson was able to find out his paternal grandfather's surname and had cousin matches!
Hey everybody, this is Oliver the creator of this video. I wanted to give a quick update as to where we are today and what the best ways to find relatives that we might be looking for. If you’re not opposed to taking a DNA test by one of the several companies out there that is the absolute best way to find a relative. You may not find the person that you’re looking for but you could find a relative of that person Who may know exactly who you are looking for.
UPDATE:::: DNA test DNA test DNA test take one or more DNA test it will probably give you if nothing else several relatives that could possibly help you piece it all together!
Thank you for sharing this information, I registered to the site and hit 7 100% now I have to wait to pay to see who it is, thank you and god bless you ,I ma greatful to you, Joanne

I respect your opinion Brandy but that might not be appropriate. Just think its a little to strong of an issue to discuss here.
