Perfect, I'm from the Netherlands and on Schiphol the queue were 4 hours and a lot of people mist their flights and a lot of flights have been cancelled. That was maybe 2 months after this video. There were big rows outside and a lot of angry people
@@sjoerdkorsmit8548 That queues were only on very short periods tho. I travel through Schiphol on a regular base and i never experienced it at all. It only happened during holiday seasons.
I had the same challenge with KLM in economy. They don't really come with the call bell. I feel like they kinda expect you to walk to them and get what you want. Usually they leave out snacks for you to freely take and they will help you get the drinks at their area
You missed their signature cocktail, the “Flying Dutchman” Also they have an incredible apple juice not from a box that is organic cold pressed. The biggest negative was the fact you have no personal air vent control and they love turning up the heat!
Unfortunately the delicious "Flying Dutchman" is a thing from the past since I think late 2019 :-( Their new signature cocktail is the "Bols Negroni" and actually it is quite good as well.
I personally have found KLM such a great airline, each and every trip economy. The staff are just so friendly and helpful, what you get for your money and the customer service just adds up to really good value for me. Amsterdam Schiphol airport is also very user friendly and like KLM the people and staff so friendly and helpful.
I think they used to be. KLM customer service isnt what it used to be, they can never help you. Staff is really friendly, but doesnt really do anything. And the flights arent really different then a Ryanair or an Easyjet flight. Except that carryon luggage is free and a small drink and bite.
I’ve actually also experienced a terrible call bell service in economy. There either must be something wrong with the connections from the buttons to reaching the flight attendants or they just don’t really bother with it.
There is no 'connection': There is the audible ding - which we heard - and the light. Even if they missed the ding sound they should have acted on the light being on (Albeit probably at a later time).
Just had transatlatic flight with Delta and after longer time no one showed up in the cabin I pushed the bell button. Surprisingly a crew member who just had startet eating jumped up and was available for me after 5 secs. I guess this would have been a new recoed here. ;)
Yes, usually it is not very loud so you got to press it multiple times like a doorbell or go to the back and ask for whatever you want. Still IMO, the best European Airline I have ever flown on. Even their brother airline, Air France is worse than KLM in my experience.
We flew KLM to Africa to climb Kilimanjaro and KLM home. They are amazing I was beyond impressed with the staff starting from check in to landing…I will fly them again……also love the airport in Amsterdam.
i actually just took KLM Economy amsterdam back to asia. I must say the economy wasn't that bad, Food wise of course it can be better, but I must say the service was quite good actually. The crew was extremely attentive and friendly. my first KLM experience wasn't that bad, although of course it pales in comparison with Singapore airlines or cathay pacific. However, the ticket was much cheaper, so i am not complaining here :)
That was a kind review of KL Economy. Narrow seats, sub-par food, absent service. KL competes with EK A380 on that route. No brainer which one to go for
As a dutch citizen who always flies economy with KLM it was fun to see your guys’ experience. I was wondering when it was KLM’s turn for you guys to try since its the biggest airplane company haha.

As a Dutchie having flown KLM economy for many years(pre-Covid), I can safely say after this amazing Points Guy video that the quality of service, seat and food has gone down for many years now. I'm sorry to say @KLM, I look at other airlines before looking at KLM now
I had a call button failure on a Virgin Atlantic flight in Premium. Not a single FA came through the cabin in over an hour. As lovely as the flight could have been (and others were), the complete lack of service was inexcusable.
I know you already did one video of this type from Caledonian Sleeper train. It would be great to see more of this train reviews, for exapmle Amtrak California Zephyr(US), Amtrak Cardinal(US), Night Riviera(UK), Ocean-ViaRail Canada, NighetJet(Europe). it would be cool to see this new series and it would be great to see it in all classes because nowdays youtubers wich do this type of videos are not commenting it, is just subtittles and is weird to just see all of that without hearing a word. Looking forward to your content.
So yeah, call bell challenge fail in Economy ;-) Based on experience, set the call bell back to off and "ring the bell" again. This time even KLM responds after a while ;-) Still, my favourite airline! Usually Economy meals are way better than the competition. On my Dubai flight two weeks ago the Business meal was the same and the Poke Bowl entree was outstandingly delicious indeed!
Love flying KLM! Always try to fly them once a year at the minimum. They have a really good Crown Lounge at Amsterdam Schiphol! I will hopefully try their long haul business one day. I've done only Business on a LHR-AMS flight with a Boeing 737...
Great review, thumbs up. "Nice lighting !" 3mins 42 secs, interesting take, not the first thing I tend to notice, when at an airport, to be honest. Cheers Tim from Sydney
Great review overall, was always curious about KLM. Also have to mention how I love the fact that y'all dont get overly whiny about service inconsistencies but still do acknowledge the shortcomings.
I love these videos where you review airlines, I said this in your hotel video a while back and since then you uploaded a lot of these reviews, thanks!
I also had bad service in economy on a flight to Dubai. It was along time ago, I started my journey from ABZ to DXB via AMS. I have mild lactose intolerance so for long haul flights as cream is a definite no no. The short haul it flight was amazing crew were super friendly the snack was a yoghurt biscuit, when they found out I couldn't eat it they offered a sandwich from business class, trouble was the only one left was brie. So they gave me an extra tin of juice, clearly didn't have too for short haul but still great service. Onto DXB flight when meals were handed out I asked were my lactose free meal was they said I was listed for it and scolded for not checking with customer service prior to flight (I had). The perser came down and I ended up with curry and rice from business class a crew salad the the biggest apple I've ever seen. So although I did in end I did get something but could have done without the scolding. Turns out the guy at check-in desk was at fault when my boarding pass was mailed in the machine he changed my ticket number which meant my special meal was transferred. The flight home was better as I did get my special meal. Fun fact the Dutch king used to fly short haul flights for KLM I think he retired when they stopped flying Fokkers.
Check in lines - or more precisely wait times are very much still a thing in Berlin. Dropped a friend of. He was going on an Air France flight - it didn't look like much of a line but with only one counter open he was still waiting 1:30 h later (they them opened up more counters and a priodity security check)
2:17 i thought long check-ins were a thing of the past as well, until my Vueling flight from Barcelona back to Düsseldorf took about 3hrs to check-in, Vueling had only opened 2 check-in booths, while there were a lot of flights scheduled. Almost missed my plane because because of that :/
Just got back from Budapest with KLM business class. The flight attendant Fem was so nice to me & smiled all the time. I liked the seat & airline window. Now getting on the plane well, that was a different story. The upgrade price was only $460 though
I love your videos! 2 suggestions for all videos, though: could we please have the take-offs and landings at normal speed with the engine sounds? Also, sometimes the movements of the camera are a bit too fast and it's hard to see the lounge, views or else the menu properly. Other than that, really enjoyable videos!
Totally the same experience I had with Liam, after service you are abandoned, however if you head to the galley there is food and drink there. On a side note had the best ever tuna sandwich at Schiphol airport, think the Cafe was called Bread.
I flew from Manchester airport to Schipol and the security check was complete chaos. It took over 2 hours to get through. We were packed in like sardines whilst the airport announcements kept telling people to be aware of social distancing. I think you have been very lucky with your choice of airports. Great video by the way.
Ha. Took me an hour to check-in and pass through security/exit immigration at CDG T2 right after New Years. And that was business class with a fast track for security. The general security line ran the length of the checkin area.
I only take KLM once, from Bilbao (Basque Country) to AMS to Los Angeles in early Jan. The Bilbao staff was awful and can't register my surfboards and double charged me (it wasn't KLM's direct fault). However someone came to fix everything (and refund me). Because of that the plane was 20 mins late. On the plane the flight attendant told me to sit on the front and they did an emergency exit to let me catch my Los Angeles plane. I had to run from terminal A to G in 20 minutes which is like 2 miles. They escorted me during the customs and I finally catch my plane. I had 3 row for me and the food was . . . Dutch ? But overall I had a very good experience. Good job Flying Dutchman!
