@@audreymayubehi ! Here’s how my Crohn’s was ‘resolved’; firstly, I too was in remission many times and still ‘lost’ my colon. Now meant to live on 4 x 8 loperamide tablets per day plus 2 x sachets of dioralyte in 1 litre of water per day and magnesium plus B12 for life. Change bag every two days - not an optimum way to live your life. I wish I was still where you are now because I would have changed my diet completely to carnivore.

I still get very depressed yet I present a strong front and people do not see my struggle. I do not like to burden them. I have always done everything to move forward as much as possible but it’s hard always being that way and very lonely. Some people need a diet free of oxalates, and plants that are damaging to the gut lining and brain. When I was young, I was really unwell and had big tummy bloating. Drs said I didn't have wheat allergy or crones so nothing else was invested. Now I'm in my 50s I have come to realise it was these plants that were making me unwell. When I eat bread, grains and pulses the inflammation in my body goes wild within hours. My skin clears up when I don't eat grains. My health has gotten better avoiding plant based foods that are normally seen as healthy. I eat lots of grass fed animal' protein and take omega 3 fish oils and bamboo silica and things are going well. I still have ME/CFS and bipolar but looking and feeling better because the inflammation has been significantly reduced. I don't get so much gut bacteria or fungi candida and the extra protein has helped with the fatigue, muscle loss in menopause.

    • @tohca1

The oils in omega 3 fish oil supplements are probably rancid. I wouldn't mess with that, or fish in general unless it's freshly-caught or fresh quick-frozen. Bamboo silicia sounds sketchy too.

This was a great discussion that kept me engaged throughout. Having heard of the common myth that red meat rots in the colon for days on end, I checked with Google (which normally spouts out garbage like this). To my surprise, Google appears to have caught up with science and the new US administration and is actually being honest about red meat and the digestive tract.

Dr. Gundry has a book called the plant paradox which basically talks about how not all plants are good for humans because they cause inflammation due to leptins. On the flip side some people dont do well on keto or carnivore. Everyones body is so different. I personally did terrible on keto but have found a good balance with low carb and leptin free vegetables. I eat vegetables but not ones that will cause inflammation and have also cut down on my overall portions. I do supplement because i dont have a gallbladder but i feel better than i did in my 20s.

Hello I have Crohn’s disease . I have been doing some research on foods my self. I have connected some dots of information here that might be helpful. I’ll try to keep it short. Noted a correlation to a lot of these diets . Which is low or no carbs and no plants . People’s ailments start to disappear. Sugar being a major contributor. I discovered in sugar and fruits contain a type of sugar called fructose. Apparently the gut can only absorb so much and the ability to absorb it varies in people. It needs glucose to be absorbed in to the blood stream and goes straight to the liver. Unabsorbed fructose is known to damage the gut lining and cause leaky gut with all the symptoms and ailments that come from that. As well as travels to the colon and feeds a bad type of Microbiota which damages the colon. This sugar fructose is in all processed foods, fruits and sugars. This appears to be a major catalyst of metabolic disease in the western nations. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in the early 1980s. I researched when soda companies started putting high fructose corn syrup into their drinks.. IT WAS THE EARLY 1980s ! Back then I drank Coca Cola for breakfast and diet was processed foods . High fructose corn syrup is worse than fructose itself. When I was diagnosed nobody in my circle even knew what that was. IBS and metabolic disease is everywhere now.

Sounds familiar. I was passing blood then one morning felt sick.. threw up.. pure blood. Was terrified. Went to hospital, barrage of tests.. ruled out appendicitis, cancer, etc. Couldn't find anything medically wrong with me.
Tried a plant based diet because fibre. Was sat watching TV and thought I must have spilled my drink but when I checked.. blood. I wasn't just passing it on the toilet now it was literally running out of my ass. Then bad IBS followed.
Desperate tried carnivore despite being incredibly sceptical because of all the BS we are all taught. Fixed.
I've still no idea what was wrong with me. Might have even been something similar. But I'm pretty sure a higher fibre plant based diet nearly killed me.

We need the five food groups if we eat those correctly so what's correct nowadays. I'm just saying we can't live off weeds. My friend had one of her friends all she ate was Weeds she didn't want to gain an ounce she was always unhealthy always had a headache always sick but she didn't have any fat on her body but she looked like a skeleton.
I could eat anything and everything and never gain a pound because I was active I was never sitting still I was all muscle even being at about 117 pounds. What happened to the old fashioned diet where you eat the five food groups. I think a lot of it is what they're putting in the breads the cereals etc. We're not getting healthy foods. I know I grew up my grandfather my dad really we always had a garden we had pigs we had chickens and we did eat our own food we did eat grocery store food too but not a whole lot of it. But you still have to have some fat some salt and some sugar in your diet. We can't live off weeds. And if you did even try to eat the weeds that is grown nowadays it's so sprayed down with chemicals from the the sky it's disgusting.
When I was growing up we would have a piece of meat we would have a vegetable we would have potatoes but we also have homemade bread which my grandfather made tortillas. Grandma used to fry bread in the Skillet which was easy just take some flour mix it up make it kind of like you're making a pancake mix put a little bit of oil on your pan put it in there let it fry get good and crispy and that that bread was so good too. And like a lot of lemons grapefruits limes are good for your gut your digestion eating fresh apples off a tree.
