Thank you for introducing me to japanese writers. Im German and i really like Franz Kafka. I was introduced to Osamu Dazai by thr horror mangaka Itou Junji. Thanks for all the good work.
Thank you for telling us about The Castle by Franz Kafka. I think the Kōbō Abe novel you forgot the english name of might be The Woman in the Dunes. It also has very interesting themes to me. It might be strange to say, but the themes of these books feel very relevant to my life at the moment. The Mieko Kawakami recommendation is really cool.
Thank you for your insight into the literary process and culture of your people. I have been reading Mishima of late, and I believe you spoke very accurately on the nature of his works and how it diverged uniquely from Edo and Meiji works. I will have to re-watch this video a few times and really take in all of what you have to say.
This is interesting, I have a question and I don't even know if you'll read my comment but maybe you will. There is a story, Katakiuchi Kidan Jiraiya Monogatari (報仇奇談自来也説話, The Tale of the Gallant Jiraiya). The tale was originally a Yomihon that was published in 1806-1807. I was wondering if you have ever read it or if you could discuss it with us.
I have a lesson with a Japanese woman tonight, Yutaka ! I shall learn to speak this language, so I can converse with the Japanese people. By the way, thank you for making this video, it was great to learn and pay respect to the people who put pen to paper, and carve life out with a pencil, even if some of there stuff is not what I like. I deal in reality, nothing more and nothing less. For example, I can not relate to someone who uses or works with computers all day because I do not care about something that man has made. Only nature and people are what I love and or respect. All the rest, is nonsense. May it rest well with you all . . .

Masanobu Fukuoka - that's the only Japanese literary work I am aware of. :)
