Glad to see someone not afraid to use ether to start a Diesel engine. I sprayed a whole small can of ether in a 4-53 Detroit and it would not start. Turns out when we had it overhauled the et the timing going the wrong direction. You time those Detroit crankshaft either clockwise or counter Clockwise.
You wanted snow? Looks like that Pineapple Express that's hitting the west coast of the US is gonna bring you some. And another one the following week. According to Ryan Hall Yall. Check it out. He's pretty accurate. I like seeing your Son helping out. Anyone can see that he really wants to be just like his Dad and Grandpa. Keep up the good work on being a good parent!
I’m from the quad cities on the border of Iowa/illinois where Moline is. John Deere headquarters. It’s nice to see ya keeping the old ones running!! Kills me to see people not get them operational. Good job!
That combine will combine on tough nights leaving all the rotary’s that size unless they have double the horsepower.. That yellow tag on the 4010 wasn’t from new , it was a tag when dealers used to floor plan used tractors traded in on their lot till they sold them
I worked on a job were a fork lift did this it had a complete new fuel system starter battery's then a older farm diesel fitter came I told him what the symptoms were he tuck of the filler cap and poked out the breather holes in the seal it ran perfectly good job the forklift was on hire
By golly, I could tell by the title that Nick was back in the house once again!! Man says 4010 wont stay running. Reread the title again. So I just gotta ask, Nick, what did you use for brine to get the old girl to finally run so good? I try to run a 2 1/2 % brine for my hot peppers LOL. Good to see you out about with your three older ones too! Those days pass by way too quickly!! -Bob...
A local mechanic has some corrugated metal hose that he slips over the exhaust connected to an inline furnace duct fan to blow it outside. Would probably work good for you on the cheap and save dumping all your heat out the overhead door airing the place out
Why don’t you put in a metal flex pipe through the roof long enough to connect to the exhaust pipe. I’ve seen auto mechanic shops that do that. Some run it through the rollup door
Nick do you have a starter wrench for that POS JD? If you would have asked I would have sent you a one owner injector wrench for the 9600. I guess you YOUTubers dont mind spending the money your so rich. Ive got a fair asoortment of that junk im trying to get rid of.
Knowing Nick is quick witted and able to turn a phrase, I was waiting on something in the 4010 fix that represented “brining” or “marinating” from the vidya title. I am not sure if the work on the fuel system was to be analogous to “brining”. Could be “Brining”was intended to be “Bringing”. Let me state, I am not being some D-Bag criticizing spelling. Trust me, I have no stones to cast on that front. South Sask Farmer’s irreverent humor and sometimes quirky take on things keeps you thinking that “Brining” was indeed intentional; thus, leaving a fella to keep looking for the deeper meaning.
It’s an interesting dynamic watching Keegan run the tractor while Rob sits on the floor beating up a tire. 😂😂😂
Always good to see parents play with their kids. Good diagnostics on the 4010.
Appreciated the video Nick. Standard 4010 with the round fenders was my dad's main tractor while I was growing up. Brought back some memories.
That booster pack is a handy gizmo👍
I really enjoy seeing the old Deere's fixed up!
keep up the good work
That's quite the sled. You just need a place to mount a tv and a satellite dish. 👍
Excellent video - look forward to following the progress on the 4010 (great looking tractor)!
Great video. enjoy watching and listening to you trying to find and fix problems. Poor old Robby always down on his knees LOL
How did you ever find a seat from deere for 50 dollars.good for you.thanks😊
G'day Nick and family great video

Just found your channel and Subscribed. Interesting. Very nice video
Thank you, now take a coffee break.

Now that is living recliner sledding 😂
These vidjas are my favorite !
i got to run to deere soon to pick up a drive spindle for my mower deck . fun fun.

How are the fuel filters on the 4010?
Return line end bashed in the tank when refueling had that on 3350 😊 or just a filter
Nick. Is the fuel tank plugged on the tank outlet ?
Is that the 4010 you got from that place with the 2-105 or is that a different one?
G’job guys, if only Amanda had kicked a cow pie up in your lap Nick, while y’all were sledding 😂🤣😂stay safe👍🏻

My guess is :
Fiber washer that does something in rossabooster pump is coming apart and plugging the return.
great stuff, thanks
Can u pressurize the tank and crack the line to the filters
Nick sounds like water in the fuel lines put some sea foam in the fuel tank
Rocking Roby lol
I'm sure you will figure it out
How are you managing with the heat wave up there ?
Loving life
THANKS!
Got some questions on 4010s what’s the best way to contact ya?
Instagram
carburetor float bowl drain plugged? (saw it in 10 other shows :)
return plug is a simpler fix - so your first experiment
that went well
Thanks for the vid-ya
Fuel pump my dads 3010 did the same thing
Screen on return port on the pump is plugging up
maybe it's the seat safety switch causing her to shut down .. LOL
Needs a injection pump. The rubber o-ring on the governor is shot. Runs until the pump builds too much pressure and then they quit.
Maybe
Agree
Turns out it was return line still plugged

No suggestions but hook it to the pick up. Then you'll go for a ride
2250 psi hyd pressure , 100 psi makes a difference on bigger tractors lifting a cultivator wing up
Hook a computer to the ecm on the 4010 it's should tell you what's going on 😂
Something to do with the return fuel line
Dieing out on our 4010 was the injection pump was bad
Sask farmer TH-camr doubles as stunt man, and tries really hard to e-sphyxiate (yes I spelled it with an e on purpose) in shop for the vlog! (sarcasm)
I know you probably heard this before but you really should have a cage for those split ring rims Dont hate me
Rob knows what he is doing. Turn the wheel over so that ring is on the bottom if you are worried it will come out.
Brake cleaner works just as good as ether and is cheaper
Bope
Straight pipe the 8010, let’s find out Ivan. 😉
That’s all the seats worth?! Like foam and everything? I gotta get a new one for the 400 JD hoe.
break clean is cheaper than ether
8010 hell of better machine than that green bomb lol
Coop fuel prob

Injector pump
