Couple of pointers on the 8010..... 1. Change or at least check the unload auger gearbox for water in the oil every year. It has a terrible seal design and water will get in there if it's ever left out in the rain. 2. When shifting transmission speeds, shift one gear gear at a time and wait till its done before shifting to the next speed. Some reason if you skip gears it gets confused once in a while and you have to manually shift it on the transmission. 3. Look up a hillco air cleaner kit for the flagship combine. They use a centri precleaner and you will only have to clean the air filter once a week compared to once or twice a day. 4. Check the exhaust pipe at the muffler inlet. Mine rusted away and had chaff start smoking down under it. So I straight piped mine. I have a couple shorts of my 8010 with it straight piped lol. It's sound great but after one day it becomes obnoxiously annoying.
got to love getting a new toy.. lol it'll be a while before i can get a new toy.. the biggest thing is getting a new tire for the 1586.. $1,700 US, that includes shipping.
Did the 860 really go away?😢 it’s been around since the beginning and one of the classics that drew me to the channel. Love how you’ve grown the operation over the last few years just have a spot for the old 860 in my heart❤
You have yourself another fine deal with your new combine Nick! Why seeing how the snow is near melted off and you are hooked up to the pick up already, you must be about ready to start planting! lol Very nice looking combine! Amanda can put one child under her left foot, another child behind the seat, and a third child down under in cold storage whenever one gets out of line!! lol Hope you are doing well Amanda, good to see a brief glimpse towards the end here. How is your growing flock of cows doing heading in to colder weather? -Bob...
a farmer friend of mine in eastern nc had singgles on his 680 frist bin of corn it pick this season it blew out his 9970sts picked 2500 acres before they got tire when tire finally came he liked 100 acres from being done didnt send 680 20 miles opposite way of shop to help finish
We have had an '04 8010 for 15/16 years and it's been a great machine. I hope you like it. The rotor deslug is the best feature and you won't want to go back
good to see you get to upgrade i upgraded last year about this time on my tractor from 2 wd to 4 wd and loader so happy i did it when i did hope you like it when you get it in the field
We had similar experience from 2188 to redtop 8010 n uncle had MF 860 n upgrade to MF 8780XP. With 8010 we had get extra semi truck to keep up LOL. When 8010 come out to Australia it had its problems but with refit kit they were good as, I remember when combine prices dropped I could pick one up for 90k only 5 years old with less 2000 hrs on them, what a bargain.
Nice combine, but i dont like the case axial flow combines. Here in Germany we have a lot problems with the single rotor combines. They dont like long straw. If the straw is a little damp, there are a few more weeds or a little bit of green at the bottom, terrible noises and you didn't look so quickly they are closed. The John Deere CTS system works better here. But nothing can knock the shaker off his throne here in Germany.😅
@@SouthSaskFarmer1 Having has always been better than needing 😜👍 I thought it was cool when you removed the silencer from your 860. Great sound, I think I have to do that with my 760 even if it's broken🤣
It's hard to believe the 8010 began back in 2003, twenty years ago already. Even in 2006 when yours was made, CaseIH was still selling more 2388's. Factory rated horsepower for the 8010 in 2006 was 400 even. Wasn't '06 the final year for the black top? I think they went back to all red with the launch of the 7010 for 2007. Yep you're right, 8120 was a current model in 2010. 8230 began mid-year 2012.
That's great for you and the farm. Christmas came early I guess. Can you please start Go Fund Me or something and rebuild your soft core baler? Those have special place in my heart. When I was kid my dad ran a NEW Idea Baler with an AGCO White tractor and it was a great time.
Congratulations on the new combine. Sometimes other guys have trouble with a machine and its funny how a good operator with some patience can get through with flying colors. Usually the its the wife here that has the patience. Lol
nice combine very good upgrade we had a 1680 they ere junk breaking final drives right a left and chopper bearings are inside the combine watch them in the cases they burn up quick we love our 9750st john deere low hours 2001 and our high hour john deere 9500 our put 760 still sits outside i havent started it for a year shes gone sadly :(
Nick if you ever have problems with the front wheels coming loose try buffing the paint off of the final drives, wheels and spacers between the duals. Paint will wear and grind off (paint isn't very hard so why would you want it there) and then it starts to loosen, fatigued hardware stretches and its just like loosening a bolt. Been down this road with a CIH 9120 420 bushel of wheat at 60 lbs by my math is about 25,200 lbs plus the weight and torque of the machine is a lot to ask of the lug bolts. Ask any one in heavy equipment world if they have ever done this on undercarriage work on a dozer its been standard procedure for ever. I would also install Cat bolts instead of CIH ones. I know a grade 8 bolt is a grade 8 bolt to most farmers, but there is a difference, you get what you pay for.
I can see two problems your going to have. 1 your plastic door for the ladder needs to be braced where the door stops latch up to the other square tubing, a lot of panels break if you don’t lift the bar for the door. Because all that pressure is just on the door safety stop. 2. The chalf spreader needs flat iron curved around the round bars . Helped spread the straw way more even
10.3L Iveco is a good engine, same in the CRs at that time of model years. Pull really good, drinks fuel though. I think it boosts up to 425 hp. Make sure to change the engine breather filter, super important so it doesnt drink its own oil... the guy you bought it from can probably tell you more and what to do. Now need to find yourself a bigger swatter to feed that thing. As long as nothing broke down with a decent crop and conditions, might only have to run that machine and one of the other ones, probably going to eat through the crops. Those monitors from CNH are not the greatest, kinda wonky at times for certain things. Looks like identical pickup head as i have, except yellow.
I love ours, it’s a little newer (2008) but mostly the same. Still have to clean the air filter everyday, I thought maybe CIH could forgive that out but I guess not.
You might have more going on at your air filter than you think the sensors are prob fine sounds like it was looked after so maybe they were on top of it. I bought a 2011 Cr 9070 there is pre filter before the air filter they can plug off mine got the chip also I think the guys I bought it from were losing power won’t damage the engine I just seen a bunch of derate codes in diagnostics. What happens is couple CIH almost burned down up the north the pre filter plugs with straw and your venture line is hooked to the the exhaust pulling heavy debre out It will start pulling hot exhaust into the air filter through the Venturion 2” and they catch fire or melt the air box down poor design that New Holland and CIH should of went good for there is a Donaldson kit for about 5k but people have rig up stacks to get out of the straw sucking in plugging that pre filter it maybe fine but just something to check out before you hit the field mine gained about 100hp it was plugged solid never cleaned
you'll hate that hopper extension trying to fold it down in the rain to put in the shop so the hopper doesn't fill with water ! your best bet is to get a snap on trap made ! got the same extension on my MF 8780 and hate folding it down ! and i've slipped and hit the ground from 12ft up and it hurts!!
I LOVE the fact that you plan on the wife and kids helping !!!
Hard to have the family farm if half of it doesn't wanna help lololol
2 combines in the last few years, you are doing alot of up grading quickly. You all must be very excited for next years harvest! Looks great!!
Yup lol
I’m thinking an X9 next year?
@@jabbyburton nick probably still wants to get his harvest done , not just look like a show pony , lol.

yeah, but it is the wrong color.......
nice new machine. Now time to add a few more bins and then semi with super B trailer.

Big upgrade from the 2188!!!! Almost twice the combine in tuff conditions
That is what we call in ontario a "tighter then a ticks ass" fit.

Just got into the Ag industry working on these dirty things now!

Time to build a bigger shed .

Now you just need to build a big shed or a lean to off the shop for it sometime in the next coming years! Congratulations on the big purchase!!
Congrats on your new toy lol all the best next harvest
Wow Nick this one is very nice Combine ,now you need biger ,like 4 40 ft container and ruff .
I am happy you have a newer machine for next fall. I hope it didn’t break the bank. Maybe a bumper crop next year will make a dent in the payment.
It definitely put a dent in the bank lol
Looks like it’s got an awesome cup holder. That’s the most important part!😁😁
Easiest combine to work on. Might not get the cleanest sample but with the price of shop labor anymore i feel like its a pretty good trade off
good to see you get to upgrade i upgraded last year about this time on my tractor from 2 wd to 4 wd and loader so happy i did it when i did hope you like it when you get it in the field
Glad to see you upgrading!
I remember my dad buying a car and the dealer gave me a toy car! They quit that about 1968😁
What happened to if it's red, leave it in the shed. Nice looking combine. Good luck with your new toy . Be safe.
This gives you plenty of time to get the muffler removed and the straight pipe on. 👍
Now build a machine shop to store your equipment.
Why

Nice green one and now a big red one too. You boys are gonna fi ish harvest in record time next year.

That combine has a good chopper and chaff Spreader . In peas and soybeans chops the straw up.
