Nice job with the video I was thinking it was a lot harder to switch out the spindles on my 93 S10 and was thinking of having a shop do this but now Im confidant I could do this on my own...again, very good "how to" video...Thanks!
How is the truck doing?
Well explained ! 10 of 10.
Very good video can't wait to lower my blazer.
Why no picture of the finished product??????
Wish there was a before and after but excellent how to video two thumbs up
A much better way to lower the rear of a leaf spring vehicle is to either use springs with less arch (given the same spring rate) or to have the existing springs de-arched by a spring shop. I've never liked that using lowering blocks moves the springs closer to the ground.
Concern I had - when using drop spindles is it okay to install tie rod (outer)
the same direction as it was taken out?
Or should it be reversed facing down?
You should of showed the truck sitting on the ground after the kit was install
2005 chevy blazer is TOTALLY different, got a 2 inch front and rear from bell tech.
I can’t believe the suspension stayed the same for that long of a run
It is the same basic design as all the way back to 60's novas and Chevelles. only different frame length and width.
Nice video. Please grease the NEW spindle!
The price is $229.95. It will clear 20 inch after market wheels, depending on the tire size that are on the wheels.
A before and after photo would’ve been great using same wheels. Literally would’ve purchased them right now. Any where I could get a before and after using stock wheels?
apparently they don’t fit with stock wheels
+saljbruno Those are Vision Milani Bel Air wheels.
Just wish they showed how it looked sitting afterwards
I'm surprised the socket did not split or shatter on install. Guess that just regular people doing install no ASE certificates here. Use only impact type sockets with a impact gun man.
Nice video! Obviously you can see that the shocks were replaced I'm the rear but looking at the kit it doesn't look like it comes with any shocks for the front or rear? I'm guessing it will be necessary to buy new shocks for this kit to work right?
Cristian Lopez I talked to a guy on their life chat and he said stock shocks work
Does this work with a 4x4 too? Not necessarily keeping the 4 wheel drive if I can’t but will it still bolt up?
Will it work with 14 inch rims
82 through 2003 was the two wheel drive they discontinued the two-wheel drive in 2003 2004 model 4-wheel drive crew cab standard
do y’all have one for a 2001 blazer 2wd all i see is ones for a s10
S10 has made in 82 has two regular cab stem cap in 1983 the regular cab was discontinued in 2003 and regular cab crew cab was made in 2001 boo 2004 Harley and four-wheel drive
Starts with stock rims nut shows aftermarket rims going back on. So the video did not address the question I have. With the drop spindles in the front, is a larger than stock rim diameter needed?
Will it make it hit hard on bumps? Or will ride smooth?
This dude definitely seems to know alot about handling nutts?
It would be nice to se the finished product????
Will this fit on a 05 jimmy ? If so do you sell lowering kits 2.5 in the front / 3 in the back for a 05 jimmy
All that? And no before and after pictures???
hola donde puedo adquirir un kit para una s10 2001 o saber si exportan, saludos
I have a 1997 Chevy SS s10. Do I already have drop spindles from the factory or can I buy some and install them?
You will have spindles on your truck, yes. But you will not have drop spindles. Those are included in the lowering kit. You would have to remove your stock spindle and install the drop spindle.
Rough Country well it came lowered from the factory I think because it's an SS and it does have lowering blocks in the rear
I like
Can someone tell me how tight the upper and lower ball joint nuts should be? Also I bought a knuckle but I did not get new cotter pins.. What are the size of the cotter pins I need to get? Thanks!
I do not have the dimensions for the cotter pin. However it is the stock size. If you could get with a dealership or manufacturer of the truck they could get you the size of the cotter pin.
Still looking for the information about the rear shocks with the lowering kit for s10
This kit allows you to run the OEM stock shocks
Are the rear lowering blocks the open type or the good solid steel ones? They look like the open type.
This kit has the hollowed out blocks.
No shot of the finished project?!
What was the reason for replacing the rear shocks? I just put all new shocks on my pick up and if i was to use this system, would I need to use different shocks? In other words, does it change the shock distance at all?
+Nate Zahradnik Yes it will require shorter shocks.
Ah but the shocks do not come with the kit. hmmmm
Actually no it doesn't change the shock distance. It uses the same factory mounting points. The blocks lift the rear axle closer to the body but the leaf springs remain in the stock position! If you were to replace the springs with lowered ones then it would affect shock travel.
Im a Proud new owner of a 90's S10 durango. Sound like stupid question but would this kit work aswell on a durango model.
Sorry this would not be compatible with that vehicle. We do not offer anything for that make and model as S-10 is manufactured by Chevrolet and Durango is manufactured by Dodge.
@@RoughCountryTV my truck is a chevrolet S10 Durango. 1990.? I'm not dumb I'll make video n post with link to prove it's a s10 durango
@@akafungi-eater1233 Sorry if I'm late to the party sir. The "Durango" designation is strictly the trim level of your particular S10, mostly the interior trim. I had a 1990 S10 with the Durango trim. Yes, if it's a 4x4, then this will work.
@@Stevo-xe9jw I just have 2wd.
Do you need to realign the front end after messing with the tire rod end?
After adding the new drop spindle yes!
I had too at least
what size are does blots holding the upper joint and the lower joint
I am assuming you are referring to the ball joints?
Please if you are going to have them apart, repack your bearings with grease and get you about 8 cans of brake cleaner. You'll thank me lol
Can someone pleas tell me if you need new shocks for 3 inch blocks? Thank you
No but might as well replace them anyways
Whats the price for that kit. For an 89 s10. And will it clear 20 inch after market wheels?
what the largest size tire you.can run on it after u lifted it
I see you guys replaced the shocks for the rear aswell where can i get those at?
+chris rivas You can get those by contacting us at 1-800-222-7023. We have those available.
What kind of control arms are recommended for this kit?
He used stock control arm it looks like
At what point did you chain down the front coil springs?
Not necessary. This easy-to-install lowering kit features a simple, 100% bolt-on installation process
What about front end alignment after install ???
Front end alignment is required after installation.
Is this the same way to lift the truck ?
Did you ever put in the lift? That's I'm looking at doing.
Where can i get a set of spindels for my 75 Nova ???
We do not offer any spindles for a 78 Nova. I would recommend checking with Fat Bob's Garage.
Where is the Video for the Lift Kit ?
They still don't have a video for their 2" lift. Did you ever put it in? I'm looking for advice before I tackle it
does this work for the zr2 version s10
Any future plans for a kit for a 1991 ranger?
assassins creed 2 remix
What kind of shocks did you use on the drop kit? I plan on lowering my s10 with this kit & I was told it's highly recomended to replace the shocks when doing so..
I have to drop to my driving line on my 1989 Chevy s10 to tow it
where can I purchase this kit at? looks very simple
www.roughcountry.com/
I have the kit and my tire rode is really close to my rim what did I do wrong?? Lol
Is that before or after front end alignment?
Rough Country both
Chay Stevens just curious. Are you running aftermarket rims? With wider offset? Or all stock wheel and tire? Also what year do you have? Don’t mean to ask so much. Just wanna do my research and get some knowledge from someone who’s installed the kit. BTW Sorry for the lateness🤷🏼♂️
who makes 3"lowering shackles,I dont need kit just 3" shackles (1982 chevy c10 2whl dr.)
You can check with Top Gun Customz
Thanx guys
THERES A GASKET
285 40 20 rear 255 45 20 fronts?
What size wrench do I need for those bolts?
s3.amazonaws.com/roughcountry/install/92724000.pdf
Why not replace the ball joints while you're there ...daahh
😂 exactly
show me the b4 and after look
This is just an installation tutorial. You can see a "before and after" 3d rendering and "after" video footage in the marketing video: th-cam.com/video/CNCvXHuoKNg/w-d-xo.html
They don't have a complete side shot of before and after for some reason. And that is the one everyone wants to see.
Would it be the same for a first gen?
This one is for the 82-04 model so it covers all of the S-10 series
Will this work on my 2002 chevy blazer
No this kit does not fit that make and model. We do not offer a lowering kit for that make and model
@@RoughCountryTV i cant seem so find lowering kits anywhere for my blazer but i can find lowering kits for a chevy s10 pickup same wheen base as my 02 blazer is it possible that they are interchangeable?
Its a 4x4 as well and i just want to lower it 2.5 inches
Damn, was just about to ask if this fit an 03 2wd Blazer 😢
First 48 voice
do y'all have a 3"/4" drop kit?
+Darian Rodriguez We do not, we only offer the 2/2.5 and 2/3 drop.
Should've showed how low the truck got
Beating the shit out of the knuckle is going to do nothing but bad things. Proper way to get the ball joints is using a ball joint separator as well as a tie rod end separator.
No Pics wow
what kind of rims are those?
+saljbruno Standard rims
+Michel Linschoten he meant the ones at the end
I wouldn't put those wheels on my truck. They're just not my style.
Please please use a torque wrench grease your axles and for the love of god don’t use Chanel locks for your spindle nuts. Ball joints tie rods spindle nut and shackles all have torque specs
What grease do you recommend? I have a 93 Sonoma stock motor but possible LS swap in the future. It has 2” drop spindles at the moment and bearings are bad so I have to do them soon.
how much does this kit cost
+Reeko Suave www.roughcountry.com/gm-lowering-kit-724.html
$229.95 Plus shipping
+Rough Country thanks... but what if I only want to drop the back
would it be the same kit for a 91 s10 4cylinder ?
Yes
need safety glasses on at 4:38
Calm down OSHA
Damn no before/ after
Lame. How about a before and after shot of the truck??
This is just an install video. You can see shots of the truck with this kit in the marketing video here: th-cam.com/video/CNCvXHuoKNg/w-d-xo.html
And a before and after photo on the product's page on our web site here: www.roughcountry.com/gm-lowering-kit-724.html
They don't have a complete side shot of before and after for some reason.
No final product, what a joke
