35 years later, I still remember like it was yesterday, sitting in my basement playing a game of computer baseball on my Commodore 64 and listening to my stereo and hearing the news around 8 or 9 AM Sunday morning. RIP Pelle

He is almost forgotten now, a guy that could have taken the Flyers to a Cup. I was a huge hockey fan back then. I remember when he almost beat the U.S. Olympic team and I was so excited that he was coming to the Flyers. I actually met him after an afternoon preseason game the year he went to the All Star game and got hurt. I thought he was a very humble guy with a big smile. I'll never forget the amazing coincidence that the Flyers had TWO players on their team named Pelle! What are the chances? On the morning of his death my girlfriend woke me up to tell me he had died. I was literally in shock. I felt like I lost a friend. As luck would have it, I had a ticket for the next game, Nov. 14. Gene Hart's moving speech stays with me even all these years later. Our friend, our Gumper. You could tell Gene (god rest his soul) was very affected by it. Later I was excited about Ron Hextall and was crushed when they lost again to the Oilers in 1997, especially after they came from behind to win in Game 6. That was the loudest I ever heard the old Spectrum, having attended many games. After that I lost my passion for the Flyers and the game, moving on to other things in my life. Most people have forgotten Pelle, my girlfriend married someone else and died 10 years later, I left for Costa Rica and have been here over 25 years later. Thanks for putting this retrospective out there for all of us. Folks, live your life as if you are going to pass away tomorrow because we will all go some day. Pelle should have thought of that. Peace be with you and may you have serenity in your life!

I loved my little Bernie Parent, Pelle Lindbergh he was such a cool goaltender for The Flyers. Met Pelle in my workplace and he was such a gracious humble but yet funny person. The Flyer Family will never forget number 31.

I'm not one for getting upset about celebrity deaths but this one still hurts. I loved that Flyer team they were perfect to go against Edmonton and were steamrolling everyone that season after gaining the experience they needed the years before the late 80's would have been glorious damn it.

This hurts to this day... I went to school and my favorite player Peter Zezel made the front page of the paper and my friends in class showed me his picture... all I could do was cry because Pelle had died the night before. An amazing talent who made a mistake. I'm thankful that he was on this earth and played for my team 💚💚💚

Almost 38 years since Pelle’s death & I still remember it like it was yesterday too! I remember crying & still cry a bit when seeing something about his death. The only other person I get emotional over, is the assassination of John Lennon.
