Honestly my buddies 200 yamaha gets up on plane a little better on his 2120. But it feels exactly the same everywhere else. My Suzuki is a little more fuel efficient though.

I was talked out of the 225 because the performance gains are minimal vs the inline 200. The 225 is heavier and less fuel efficient. Low end torque is all that will be achieved. I honestly think the inline 200 is the perfect balance of performance and fuel efficiency. I would go with a 250 even though the 2120 is only rated for a 225 if you want better performance.
Two strokes are lighter than four strokes, so the performance will always be better with the same or close horsepower. I'm actually getting 3.2 mpg at 30 with my 200. Going faster, to a certain degree, is actually more fuel efficient. I also had two 1kw transom mount transducers, at the time, causing alot of drag. I have since gone through hull and picked up 2 more mph and 1 gph.
@@lou198 you would actually probably benefit with more horsepower if you are heavier. You are going to need the low end torque. But I have no issues with 3 people, a full tank, 3 big coolers of ice, and gear when I go 70 miles offshore. I usually burn 65 gallons on a 15 hr trip.
Does the Suzuki have a better hole shot than your Yamaha

The Suzuki is alot more quieter than my f150 by a long shot.

I never had a df 150. I had a Yamaha f150. I sold it to get the df200.
@@bradp9938 gotcha. Just looking at downsizing and was wondering if the 150 just wasn't enough if seas got rough.
@@jigity-j the 150 does fine, but in certain conditions it's not ideal. The 200 should be the absolute minimum with the 2120.
