One story i heard from Andy Griffith and Brad Paisley was that Andy was excited for doing this video with Brad, he gifted Brad one of his guitars that he played on the Andy Griffith Show.
Back in the mid 80's, we would hold military exercises in Dare County, NC, and stayed in Hotel Manteo off the Outer Banks. Andy owned a beautiful home that we drove past daily and every morning he would be sitting on his porch and stand up waving to us as we headed out to the range. A few of us were in the local Piggly Wiggly one evening after missions and Mr Griffith was there and walked over to us and shook all our hands. We talked for a good 20 minutes with him. He was one of the nicest gentlemen I have ever met even to this day. ❤️
I love his funny stuff too! Ticks, Online, Celebrity… @BlackPegasus will love the cameos in those. I think he would love the nostalgia of Letters to Me
Interesting fact - Brad saw Kimberly Williams on Father of the Bride and said I'm going to marry that girl! They have been married for nearly 22 years and have 2 children. So he literally was waitin' on the woman!
Was married to the most amazing man for 52 years. He’s been gone now 8 years. ( HE’S STILL WAITING ON ME😇😇😇. Thank you BP for this one. MEMORIES ❤️❤️❤️👵🏼 Gmaw
My last surviving grandparent is one of those. We're not related by blood but he's been my grandfather since I learned how to say it and whom to call that. And he's happy to be a great grandfather to my brother's kid.
Brad Paisley is an amazing artist. This is a nice song. However, the Brad Paisley sone I love most is entitled “He didn’t have to be”. It makes me choke every time while reminding me that we are so fortunate to have truly grounded men among us who stepped up to the plate when they didn’t have to. I believe you will also love this song along with the video and the message they bring. Robert, you won’t be disappointed.
Some other country tunes worth a listen (if you haven't gotten to them yet) - "There goes my life" and "Dont Blink" by Kenny Chesney. "Your gonna miss this" by Trace Adkins and "House that Built me" by Miranda Lambert. My favorite Brad Paisley song is "He didn't have to be".
Yes PLEASE! It's the best, I cry every time but especially since we list my 'Dad' 5 years ago. Very blessed he came into my life, married my Mom when I was 4. ❤
This is such a great song and Brad Paisley has plenty. My favorites of his are Part Two, Then, Remind Me (with Carrie Underwood), He Didn’t Have To Be, Letter To Me, Ticks, I Wish You’d Stay, Who Needs Pictures, I’ve Been Better, Holdin’ On To You, Alcohol, Celebrity, I'm Still a Guy, and Water.
I have been watching you for awhile now and i love you reactions.i love your channel. I am a 71 year old Great Grandmother. Thank you because i can tell you are such a good Father and husband.
❤❤ This song always makes me think of my grandfather. He would sit on a bench in the mall and wait for my grandma, my mom and me to finish shopping. He would wait in the car for her to finish her talking at church or other family functions. He would wait in the car for her to make sure all the doors were locked and all the lights were off in the house. He passed away in 2008 and I guarantee he is on a bench up in heaven waiting on her, she just turned 95 on the 7th of this month. ❤❤
I love this song! that is Andy Griffith! there is another song that is of the same vein, Garth Brooks, If Tomorrow Never Comes. Great song by one of the best!
God, I hope my husband is waitin on me. He left me without warning 19 years ago at 48, and even though Ive heard this song so many times before, the tears instantly flowed. Beautiful choice, BP.
This song always makes me cry. I very first time I saw my husband he was on the other side of a dance floor at the national armory. I was 15 and he was 17. I nudged my older brother and said you see that man over there I am going to marry him. He looked at me and said you don't even know him. Well we have now been married 43 years and are truly blessed. I never even dated another man. I don't know what I would do if he went to the other side before me. He is definitely my best friend as well as a wonderful husband
Two of the best guitar players are Brad Paisley and Keith Urban. They did a song together called “ Start A Band “. Definitely some shredding going on there.
My mom went to high school with Wynn Varble who wrote this song - I’ve met him at a breast cancer fundraiser concert - suppppppper nice guy. My mom said he is the epitome of “I was country when country wasn’t cool” she remembers him being true blue country no matter what.
There are so many good ones, here’s a few to get you started: “I’m Gonna Miss Her”, “Little Moments”, “Ticks”, “When I Get Where I’m Going” (duet with Dolly Parton).
One of the last things that Andy was filmed in, this was kind of prophetic in a sense...since he died shortly thereafter. Showing him dressing up all in white, then sitting on a bench in an empty beach at sunset...almost signatory of sittin' in Heaven waitin' on his Woman. That ending brings tears to my eyes every time. "Honey, take your time. Cause I don't mind. Waitin' on a Woman" ...and then you look at the bench where he was talkin' to Brad...and Brad's the only one sittin' there.
Yes that was Andy Griffith. From what I read, Andy had some money issues later in his life, and Brad actually asked him to be in the video which helped him get a stream of income from the royalties too. And yes, the Andy Griffith Show had Opie, played by little Ronnie Howard, who went on to star as Richie Cunningham in Happy Days and then went on to be one of the biggest tv and movie producers in the world. Ron's daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard is also an actress, playing Hilly in the Help among her many movies roles.
I love this reaction and this song, my late husband rarely had to wait on me (because I am phobic about being on time,) but he left this world almost 10 years ago and is have to wait on me now.
Andy had the two successful TV shows (Andy Griffith Show and Matlock) but as a kid I also listened to his comedy albums. He also had music albums. Opie had some success as an actor in Happy Days and movies like American Graffiti but his greatest success was in directing with over 30 films to his credit including Academy Awards for A Beautiful Mind.
Yes, Andy Griffeth later had a TV show Matlock after Ron Howard (Opy) did Happy Days, then way more. Andy Griffeth and Jim Nabors (Gomer Pyle) were both singers, too, mostly gospel and patriotic songs. ❤
You are correct Sir, that is Andy Griffith, also Matlock. The boy Opie that you mention is Ron Howard, also known as Richie Cunningham, from Happy Days and also an amazing Producer of a lot of really good movies.
Andy Griffith is quite the accompished singer, as well. I have his cd of hymns and it's absolutely beautiful. Apparently he was always singing off camera of the Andy Griffith show and everyone told him he should put out a cd. Took him a lot of years, but he did it ... and it was worth it.
This one is a tear jerker, but it hits me a little harder, because my Pawpaw loved Andy Griffith, and Andy reminds me of him so much in this video, especially the overalls.
This song is great. It reminds me of "I'll Wait For You" by Joe Nichols. That is Andy Griffith. He was in the Andy Griffith Show and Matlock. This video was made after those shows. Great reaction.
I’ve never seen one of your videos but man I could see the realization sweep across your face at the end of the song. Brad is an amazing guitar player. You should check out Start a Band with him and Keith Urban. They are amazing players!
Loved your reaction. You can't go wrong with Brad Paisley. I recommend He Didn't Have to Be and Online--they're both fire. And yes, Brad and Keith Urban are two of the best country guitarists out there.
The late great Andy Griffith have been a fan of his forever. Awesome reaction. I will be waiting on him i have a terminal illness. i usually wait on him here so i'll wait on him to come home to heaven he's always late. He was in heaven waiting on Cindi she is still alive.
Some of Brad Paisley's best songs include I'm gonna miss her, Ticks, Me Neither, Online, He Didn't have to be, letter to me, welcome tto the future, little moments, and Start a Band (with Keith Urban)
My hubby used to say let me know when you're in the car then I'll know you're ready 😂 lol. I lost my hubby to COVID but God bless him for waiting on this woman 😢.
FYI - "Opie" was played by RON HOWARD from Happy Days "Richie Cunningham" and he grew up to be a famous director of movies like APOLLO 13 and many more.
Great reaction BP and, as many have told you that is Andy Griffith. I’m a huge fan of The Andy Griffith show as it was a simple show in a small town but the storylines could tug at your heart or bring some laughter to your day. I was so shocked to find out years ago that Andy and Aneta Corsaut, his on screen girlfriend Helen, had a true love affair for 5 years. Andy was married but Aneta was not and even though they were able to go undetected by the cast for a while, eventually everyone knew. Andy proposed to Aneta 5 times but each time she declined and she never did marry.
I've only just found your content. There's so much to Brad Paisley that you'd probably enjoy. His song writing is a balance of incredible love songs like this and super funny stuff like "Alcohol", "Celebrity", and "I'm gonna miss her"! And yeah, he can get that guitar like few others! I strongly suggest "letter to me"! I'm gonna check out more of your stuff and am sure I'll find you discovering music that is so meaningful to me to be as enjoyable as this one was.
It was already mentioned in the comments buts check out "She's Everything" by Brad for more guitar or "Start a band" with him and Keith Urban. They can both play guitar well.
Tim McGraw "Don't take the Girl" will hit you right in the feels.
Yes!!!!!
OH MAN YEAH!!!
As a widow, this one gets me every time. My husband was only 45 when he left me and our 5 children. I hope he's waiting for me.
Mine was 37

He's definitely waiting.
So sorry for yours and your families loss. He is definitely waiting on you I promise you that.
Yep, that’s Andy Griffith!!!!! And yes, Brad is one of the best guitarists in country music….She’s everything by Brad Paisley is the one 😉
His cover of cliffs of dover (cliffs of little rock) is amazing
, he did a cover of Cliffs Of Dover ?
@chriswalker7983 yes. It's titled cliff of little rock because he's from Arkansas and not new England
I'm not so sure Brad is he best in country music. I think Vince Gill could probably give him a run for his money.
Andy also did a song called waiting on a woman
One story i heard from Andy Griffith and Brad Paisley was that Andy was excited for doing this video with Brad, he gifted Brad one of his guitars that he played on the Andy Griffith Show.
This is a wholesome track my friend you are so correct 😉
Back in the mid 80's, we would hold military exercises in Dare County, NC, and stayed in Hotel Manteo off the Outer Banks. Oh that is so sweet.
One of Brad's funniest songs is "I'm Still a Guy." His songs nearly always make me laugh or make me cry. Brad Paisley is fantastic!
Definitely a solid lighter Paisley song.
I love his funny stuff too! Ticks, Online, Celebrity… @BlackPegasus will love the cameos in those. I think he would love the nostalgia of Letters to Me
The fishing song ♥️
Interesting fact - Brad saw Kimberly Williams on Father of the Bride and said I'm going to marry that girl! They have been married for nearly 22 years and have 2 children. So he literally was waitin' on the woman!
I love it!!!!❤
that's the exact reason he got her hired for the "I'm gonna miss her" video.
@@MommaBird52
That's a fact ..... Great love story

“He Didn’t Have t o Be” is a great “feel good” song, very heartwarming about step-fathers.
YES!

You must go down the Brad rabbit hole!
“When I Get Where I’m Going” may bring you some comfort.

Great song choice. I'd recommend " Alcohol" and ' I'm gonna miss her". Both fun songs.
BOTH DEFINITELY!
Also, "I'd Like To Check You For Ticks." 😂
All perfect reqs. Id also add "Start a band" ;-)

Brad Paisley is an amazing artist. This is a nice song. However, the Brad Paisley sone I love most is entitled “He didn’t have to be”. Yes that is Andy Griffith. Brad has a huge catalog of great songs. Don't stop here.
Brad Paisley always has a way of tying a simple concept into some emotional revelation
What makes this song bittersweet is Andy GriffiTH would pass away just 2 years later...😩
They are all great songs.
