Those 1/700 planes on aircraft carriers are always killing me. They are like human faces, no matter how small they are, any imperfections on them are still very visible on a finalized model and painting them properly in this scale is no easy task even for nimble hands. You have nailed them 100 % though.
I wanted to get into modelling and bought a bunch of planes modelled in transparent plastic, so I could leave the cockpits unpainted and have them "see through"... ish. Then I just sold everything.
There is something about WW1 and WW2 ships that are just romantic and stylish. Modern ones still look badass but they feel like some kind of a streamlined soulless machines.
Why stop there let's all remove our car wheels and push the body around on logs its slower but more romantic...... push faster love we are only doing two logs a minute.... we are almost at McDonald's
We the Japanese are very thankful and proud of your incredible job on our ship, flag and zero-fighters with care. Thank you very much far beyond any word.
I was building a Fujimi 1/700 Zuikaku over the weekend, my first aircraft carrier kit and the planes legit drove me insane lol, didn't help that the runner was in clear plastic for some god damn reason.
I almost died laughing when I spent 2 whole days trying to get the stickers to work on a 1:400 scale Kitty Hawk, and then noticing that the instructions were on the back.
The detail in this 1/700 build is so surreal I kind of miss some personel and cockpit interior :-) No, honestly, Mr. Scaleaton - This is unreal! Such work and patience with fantastic result. The still shots are just wow too!
I'm really glad you showed working with the photo etched. I have a couple models that came with some and I've never used it before and was wondering how to work with it.
thank you for sharing. this is one of the best 1/700 model ship building tutorial i have seen. i really like the additional information about the mixture in percentages of paints thinner and psi used. i hope you will build more 1/700 model ships so that we can learn from you. thank you. merry christmas and a fruitful new year. joe @ singapore
Akagi was from the start too be a Battelcruiser in the Amagi class. But under the buildt she redesigned and buildt to a CV. Ps. What an amazing buildt with so many details and with that ocean, it's just stunning.
I know Azur Lane is a interesting anime and I know the game is popular but don't ruin the comment section of this video with your *oh-taco, wife-fu* bullshit. Look I've been watching anime for almost 32 years now but I find the majority of the "anime community" now days to be really sad with how all of you act and talk.
The more videos I'm watching the more I've to laugh about my first steps in modeling: I built a ship model and put it on my window sill :D Okay, that was over 20 years ago ... Amazing model and scenery! The only thing I would have added would be smoke from the large exhaust openings at the side :)
As an addition you can make engine smoke from the side exhaust, grey-dark grey. That'd be an excellent touch for this model. Good job m8. You inspire me everytime with your videos. When I start my job, I can finally fund myself for modelling and will start by watching your videos in mode detail. Thanks!
Been a scale modeler for 4 years and I didn't attempt to touch a single ship. Because I just know that ships are just way too hard for me to pull it off. I will stick with 35 AFVs and 48 aircrafts, thank you very much :D
Meanwhile I can’t even paint eyes on my guardsmen. Jesus Christ. Amazing work though. Really impressive. I never would’ve though about using foil to make waves.

Excellent. Great done, especially these nets, and PE parts. But Fujimi should add also metal barrels - if they made kit so rich in additional parts, should also did this for complete. But despite that, Your model looks perfect. All the best for You! ;)
nice video, super relaxing to watch... like always, great model you built there :) I really like the look of those old japanese aircraft carriers, they have just something, that makes them really beautiful to look at
Amazing job, always loved the Akagi and your modeling really showed credit to all those fine details. Didn't quite catch it if you said it but what were those small pieces almost like sandbags or something on Akagi's bridge.
OMG.. What a beautiful Model, She looks amazing and the water is a masterpiece and looks so realistic.I Love all your Videos Buddy.Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Love the Akagi! Such and amazing ship and an amazing build great job! Any tips for a new ship build who wants to attempt his first ship in the coming months?
😊...Since the beginning of the pandemic I have been building the ships "The Black Pearl" and "Queen Anne's Revenge" based on plans, scenes and images, although it has been difficult because I cannot dedicate myself full time due to economic circumstances. Dimas Bramantyo it didn’t help that taiho had only a single ventilation system for the entire ship wich caused oil fumes to spread troughout the entire ship
Absolutely spot on, a really nice build my friend. I followed your instructions for the sea in your last U-Boat video, and it turned out really, really nice. Thanks buddy 👍
Two years on and we’re still watching and enjoying this video! 👏🏼👏🏼 I’ve just managed to pick up Fujimi’s 2010 offering of Akagi in 1/700, you wouldn’t think it’d be so difficult to find one, would you? I might invest in the Rainbow upgrade set but it’s not cheap, so Flyhawks smaller set might have to suffice....... ATB to you!
A brilliant video of an amazing build, I love the work you do and am inspired to build models with more detail after watching your builds. Keep up great work 👍👍👍
a little suggestion with the mattress on the bridge, before they are cut to smaller pieces, you can use the tip of the blade(not the sharp part) to press and roll the string of putty and create many rings on it, you can then cut it to smaller pieces and you will have an effect of the mattress being tied to the outside of the bridge

yes, you are right. I think the same way. Especially Japanese ships of that time look somehow "romantic" - I really love them

Yes modern warships are rly boring

I even cant make a SMALL lego car
Absolutely amazing man, the water looks like it actually has depth to it even though it’s tin foil, love it keep up the amazing work
