You inadvertently invented "skip hombing" when you "dropped your 'torpedo'" . Your torpedo plane was a Dauntless SBD, as you said: Scout Bomber, Dive. What a knucklehead. Good episode though.

I think it woud’ve been better if you guys used TBD and SBD together, since it’s the TBDs that spotted the carriers first and all the ani air defence armaments were focused on them, hence the SBDs were able to dive bomb and pull out safely… Rest in peace to the brave TBD pilots

Uh, the sbd dauntless were dive bombers right, nota torpedo bomber? Im pretty sure its the devastators or avenger that are torpedo bombers.
Yes, it's a dive bomber, but Vad mistook it for a torpedo bomber.

when your dive bombing, you dont use airbrakes and full throttle, you use fulla air brakes and no throttle, love the video though

F4U's are a bit overrated and a dangerous aircraft because of the long and large nose and when trying to land on a carrier, the pilot cant see the deck and either over shoot and crash on the front of the carrier and get crushed by the carrier or hit the stern of the carrier, the F4F's are underrated and probably overlooked and dominated the Pacific in 1942 and 1943
*Some of them didn't actually use the maneuverability turn-rate time advantage of the Zero. Also, you actually really need a good crew level with this one...*
