I was afraid of opening my xbox, but when you mentioned where was the wireless hardware i just said "let's do it" then i cleand the surface and just make sure the wires were well plugged, and all done, is working very nice... thanks 4 the video
Thanks so much for the tip.. I did the same thing didn’t work at first so I took off the shroud and there was a loose wire on the connection of the wireless board seated it back and and works perfectly as if nothing ever happened!! Thanks for the great video!
Thank you, you just saved me £20 quid. I had the same problem followed your steps disconnected WiFi Module Micro Card give it a clean (blow the dust off) reconnected every thing now works like new . If this doesn't work you can buy replacement WiFi Module Micro Card on EBay for £10 second hand £20 new very easy to replace .
Omfl it’s taken 4 full days of blood sweat and tears to try and fix my Xbox but because of this video I have successfully connected to the internet on my Xbox again
Man .... tanks a lot ...it works .... i save a lot of money, and after this procedure, my xbox one can works on wire and recognizes even my neighborhood wifi lol ...tanks man !!!
this happens all the time with Xbox one if you drop it, this video is exactly how you fix the wifi/Bluetooth board. If you buy it on EBay it'll run you about $10-$20 dollars (US) if you buy it on Amazon it'll run you about $25+ I got mine from EBay it was $11 and I got it in a week. If you send your Xbox to Microsoft to get fixed it'll cost you the same amount you bought the Xbox for so you're better off just buying the peace. FWI they don't sell it at any stores. And opening an Xbox one is easy but be careful not to rip the front wire or else you won't be able to connect your wireless controllers
why even make a video if you arent eve going to show the actual steps? like you would make a video on how to tire your shoes, and the whole video is you showing a shoe thats already tied, and then just saying oh yea just do this...
Payton Sprankle my Xbox was in the middle of updating. It's not my fault you don't have the mental capacity to unscrew a screw and unplug and reconnect a connector. Pretty simple stuff.
Cassidy Cantrell so, we just have to unplug the card then reconnect it? Or actually replace it ? And if we do have to replace it do you recommend any specific ones on Amazon or something ?
Jessica Tea all I did was unplug it and reconnect it. I didn't replace it. Someone else in the comments said you could get a new card off amazon for fairly cheap I believe. Or you could just get the Xbox one S for $250. That's what I did 😁😁
I hope this reaches the masses. The problem with controller not staying connected to console is the wifi card/module. The tiny connector on the wifi board that the small black wire connects too is loose. It looks like msft used crappy solder again like the 360. That baby connector needs to be resoldered. Its so small but i did mine last night and instant fix. Take a look at a wifi card pic and you'll see what i mean. Its the small round connector that the black cable plugs in to.
OHBAMA ATEMYDOG the WiFi board has nothing to do with connecting your controller. That green wire that's connected to the front plate on the inside if your Xbox one is what connects to your controllers
i just had the same problem but i didnt want to take it apart because i wouldnt know where to start so i unplugged my console and flicked all for corners of the top surface and when i turned it on again it worked
i just flicked the top corners of the surface with the case still on, in hopes of budging or moving that little chip he talks about in the video. idk it seems to have worked for me but the problem has happened one other time so far
KILLERTILLER thank you thank you thank you. Age old solution if it doesn't work beat it. After I reset my console grrr and was stuck on pick wired or wireless I found your comment. Smacked all four corners and now she's working again. Now I'm sick downloading everything again but at least I saved myself what would have been over $100 dollars I'm sure.
Yes it does. I took mine apart about a month ago to apply new thermal compound in a desperate attempt to fix a known issue. That wire that's connected to the board and the chassis came loses from the connector for me. I didn't even pull on it but a little bit to take it off. What a piece. There's no way I could of yanked the wire off the clamp.
Anyone know what that specific wire is called with the clamp? And where I could get it. The wire came loose from the clamp and and right now it has loose connection so my wireless controller isn't connecting without problems. I can live without that to be honest, but I don't understand how it even got loose. It's not like I yanked on the damn thing. I removed clamps like that before with no problem. First time I took it apart was to check the disc drive, need I bother to explain? Second time I took it apart was a whole different issue that has been driving me crazy. Talking to Microsoft support was useless because they don't even let you talk to someone that Services them. The issue I'm having is that with any headset I use now game audio will stop working and I'll hear a loud distorted noise until I turn off my headset. If I use the chat headset with Xbox one, when I'm talking to friends online it'll randomly start skipping their voice in a loop. Annoying right? I bought the A10s before I tested the standard chat headset thinking maybe my wireless headset was going bad. Nope, it happened on a stereo headset too. So damn frustrating. Especially considering I hardly even play it for it to mess up like that since I'm mainly on my PC. However, with Destiny 2 coming out my friends wanted me to join the fun on Xbox one. This console has given me nothing but trouble since day 1.
Does anyone know how the accessory connect button on the side works? Like when you press it what does it activate internally what does the hard silver plastic button on the outside hit on the inside to make it sync?
i know your video is a year old. I am currently dealing with this the console will find networks after a reset to factory of witch done five times each time it connected for a littel then bugged out, would not even find anything during a scan, buy the way you violated the warrenty on it if you had another problem with it microsoft wont even touch it, you can not trade it in to gamestop or sell it cause nobody wants a voided xbox but you seamed like you knew what you were doing so you probaly dont care about voiding anything.
Yeah. I opened it up and did basically the same thing dude dose except I siding unplug the wire. All I did was take the 2 screws off and unplugged the card itself from x box1. Put it back on and it was good. It's like nothing happend
my xbox was saying there's a problem and need to send the console to xbox... did exactly what he said and it worked!! i genuinely can't believe it!! thanks man :)
Soooooo. Yeah. Replaced the component for wifi/ remote and worked for 5 days. Suddenly, no remote connection AND no wifi connection. This is my first and LAST Xbox I'll ever buy
It is fuckin pathetic, POS wifi hardware and configuration, sub level quality parts. I had the same problem, sent it back immediately. Thank god I dont have a shotgun at home, would have used mine for target practice. Good video, thank you
I had long gone forgot about Microsoft since RROD, and decided to give them another opportunity, and received a POS broken unit. 5 years later and Microsoft keeps milking out with garbage hardware consoles. Still have my PS2, right beside the all faithful PS4, running like a champ since day one. The N64 still working as well.
BEFORE I DID THIS! I simply unplugged my xbox one from the wall, waited 30 secs. Plugged back in, start up took longer, found all available networks, now works fine! If the problem persists, i will follow the instructions in this video.
Microsoft probably do this exact same fix and charge you £150 when the console is like 100 with a few games second hand. Utter jokers... Bill Gates needs fucking up the shitter
Omg I love u so fucking much bro it actually works u are a true fucking legend absolutely amazing if u don't mind I'm going to share this video on face book 👌👌👌👌👌
Cassidy Cantrell like the whole wireless board? I unscrew it after taking the little tiny cable off the thing, then I’m confused what to do after that.
I am going to try it soon. I talked to support yesterday and they said it would cost about 135USD and when they told me I literally freaked. I looked online for a network card and they costed $10 to $20 so it that is cheaper than I am not going to send it in for repairs.
Hey OP, How is the longevity of this fix? I'm tempted to do the same to mine, same exact issue. Console is years out of warranty, I've read that Microsoft wants $100+ for sending it in. So if your method works, that'd be terrific. If not, thank you for giving this gamer some hope!
Honestly in my case, it went back to having the hardware problem a couple days later. Although i know some of the commenters on here said they went further than me and made sure to dust off the connections and clean them, and I didn't do that. You might try reaching out to the commenters on here to see if it was a permanent fix for them. I recorded and uploaded this right after I "fixed" it and just left it up for something for people to try. Most people's warranties are out of date by now so taking it apart is no big deal. If your warranty is out of date, I would go ahead and try this just because it's free and you have nothing to lose.
People are also saying that they bang on the corners and it starts working again so it sounds like loose connections. I would check all the solder points to be sure they are good, clean the connections, and make sure it connects really well. Maybe even use some electrical tape to hold it down.
Cassidy Cantrell Ah I see. This actually happened the day after I bought the Xbox one S, ordered the free Kinect adapter which required me to register all 3 of the serial numbers (had never registered the original box) and then that night the wifi component shit the bed. So I do have the newer console, but that was bought only to multiplay with my girlfriend. Super frustrating but I'll give your method a try, like you said got nothing to lose! Thanks for your response!
If it's a pretty new console, it should still be under warranty and I think opening the xbox voids the warranty. This was actually my friends xbox so I'm not for sure how all that works. I think if it's still under warranty, Microsoft will fix it for free if you send it in. Don't quote me on that, though.
Cassidy Cantrell Oh I meant my older one broke (5 year old console) the day after I got my One S. Yeah if the newer one had broke id be on another planet lol
Well thanks for the video, in my case, this solution it didn't work. I had to change the wireless chip for a newer with the same model name 1525 if i remember well, and by doing this all things worked just well.
It costs something close to 40 dollars. (Doing the money conversion of the real (brazilian money), to the american dollar). But i found in some american website for 30 dollar. The replacement was done by me, so, i only pay for the wireless chip.
I sent mine in for this same thing I I got I got it back 2 weeks later with a letter saying there's no issue. not a week later (today actually) it's doing it again. I'll try your tip it's probably what they did anyway
It is plugged in underneath. Pull straight up to unplug it. You just might have to wiggle it a little to unplug it. And then maybe clean out the plug connection and plug it back in and it should be good. It was for me at least. I couldn't actually show it because the Xbox was in the middle of updating and I didn't want to unplug it again to risk something happening and it stop working again
+Cassidy Cantrell how do u close the front part of the game bc i did every thing n i close it wen i press the power clyc on the system it wont turn off n my game disc dont work bc it not close in the front Helppp
8 years later and still helping thanks man

Tried the other reset options, none worked but this did! Thanks, now my kids will quit bugging me.
Thank you, you just saved me £20 quid. I had the same problem followed your steps

Sweet dude this work and took 5 mins.. thanks alot.. everybody should know this..
yo my shit hasnt been working in like 4 months and i tried what you did and it works now
Branden Childers how do you wiggle the thing out?
Omfl it’s taken 4 full days of blood sweat and tears to try and fix my Xbox but because of this video I have successfully connected to the internet on my Xbox again

Miguel Aponte lmao,,,,, just needed a little sense beat into it!!!😂😂
KILLERTILLER man you are a miracle I love you
KILLERTILLER thank you thank you thank you. Age old solution if it doesn't work beat it. After I reset my console grrr and was stuck on pick wired or wireless I found your comment. Smacked all four corners and now she's working again. Now I'm sick downloading everything again but at least I saved myself what would have been over $100 dollars I'm sure.
Worked a treat, cheers.
Does this wireless receiver also effect the xbox ones controller, mine keeps loosing its connection and i have tried other controllers too.
Alexander Paterson I have the same issue, my controller only works if it's wired to my console. Otherwise it just stops working at random times.
Yes it does. I took mine apart about a month ago to apply new thermal compound in a desperate attempt to fix a known issue. That wire that's connected to the board and the chassis came loses from the connector for me. I didn't even pull on it but a little bit to take it off. What a piece. Send it to Xbox is $340
This worked for me. Thank you for your patronage.

Yeah. I opened it up and did basically the same thing dude dose except I siding unplug the wire. All I did was take the 2 screws off and unplugged the card itself from x box1. Put it back on and it was good. It's like nothing happend

This worked, thanks for the guide man!
This 100% worked .. thank you so much :)

Worked like a charm! Thanks buddy!
Didn’t work for me

It is fuckin pathetic, POS wifi hardware and configuration, sub level quality parts.
I had the same problem, sent it back immediately. Thank god I dont have a shotgun at home, would have used mine for target practice.
Good video, thank you
thanks dude that was uber helpful I was so fucking vexed by that problem. cheers!
this is bullshit. Microsoft played the same game with the xbox 360s red ring of death. im switching to Sony.
It didn't work for me 😭
devonte foster if this didn't work then you'll need to buy that little black cord that goes with it separate witch is about $5 on eBay
king mo what's the name of the cord
Xbox one WiFi board
BEFORE I DID THIS! I simply unplugged my xbox one from the wall, waited 30 secs. Plugged back in, start up took longer, found all available networks, now works fine! If the problem persists, i will follow the instructions in this video.
It works for 5 minutes then kicks me off and then when I unplug it overnight it works for a few hours... its red ring of death mark 2
Worked perfectly for me. Thanks!
Thank you very much, this actually works.
Worked. Easy fix. Thanks.
Are u suppose to take off the whole wireless chip thing
Yes
Can you help me fix it, like show me step by step
I have a question
Microsoft probably do this exact same fix and charge you £150 when the console is like 100 with a few games second hand. Utter jokers... Bill Gates needs fucking up the shitter
SOMEONE GIVE ME THE LINK WHERE HE BOUGHT IT
this made mine worse. first only wouldn't pick up any wifi signal now my controllers would take sync unless they're sitting inches from my ONE.
Thank u so much this video fixed my Xbox
Is your Xbox still fixed?
Omg I love u so fucking much bro it actually works u are a true fucking legend absolutely amazing if u don't mind I'm going to share this video on face book 👌👌👌👌👌
Yea go ahead!!
+Cassidy Cantrell no joke man ur a legend
What are you talking about when you say you ‘wiggle it out’
sebastian just pull it up to unplug it from the connector
Cassidy Cantrell like the whole wireless board? I unscrew it after taking the little tiny cable off the thing, then I’m confused what to do after that.
You mKe it sound super confusing I’m not sure what I wiggle out I was expecting something to come out
sebastian yes pull up on the whole board. The whole board will unplug from underneath
Cassidy Cantrell then you just put it back and plug the wire back in? And it should work?
You could just buy a new network card and replace it under 30 minutes...and it's a lot cheaper.
GameAdventure //Jonathan Pecany cheaper than buying a new one yea, but not cheaper than this if it works for you
I am going to try it soon. I talked to support yesterday and they said it would cost about 135USD and when they told me I literally freaked. I looked online for a network card and they costed $10 to $20 so it that is cheaper than I am not going to send it in for repairs.
