TweakTips you deserve a pint!! This was my Hail Mary. I was getting all the E100 codes and nothing from the troubleshooting screen would work. I bought a new 1TB SSD did a simple NTFS format following other tutorials and same results. Ran tests on the original HD and it passed. I was at a loss and almost relegated to sending the Xbox in for repair or waiting for the new Series X. I decided to follow your instructions and OMG!!! It worked. One thing I had noticed was even though it seemed nothing was going on with the new SSD in the box I pulled it out and checked it had all the same files as the old HD but I had never got passed the "something happened" screen even with a factory reset. I reformatted the new SSD with HD Prep Script per your instructions and I believe that made the difference. Your video and instruction saved me money and my Xbox my friend. Thank you!!! NOTE TO OTHERS: If simply formatting a new HD and throwing it in the box does not work and you have followed other instructions with no joy WATCH THIS VIDEO. It essentially creates a brand new Xbox HD that the Xbox likes and is ready to update. When all else failed and repair was imminent this worked for me.
Just got done doing this repair for my xbox x with the help of your video. Thank you so much for such a complete guide. Got the hard drive and caddy you recommended and the software from the description. Everything is working now. Mircosoft wanted $250 for a replacement console. They said they couldn't repair it only replace. Been pissed about the whole situation buying a $400 console and having it break in less then two years and they wanted $250 more to make it right. You made my year. $50 for the HD and caddy and your video and i'm gaming again. Thank you for the help and saving me $200.
Hi Jeremy - Brilliant news, and very happy to have helped - it makes making these videos worth while when I hear good news stories like yours - very happy indeed. Thanks for coming back and letting us know, and happy gaming.!

Much appreciated for the simple guide, well made, informative, and easy to look at editing. Fixed my xbox the same day as watching this video. Bravo and thank you.
I was in e101 & e106 Loop on my Xbox one x after doing all the steps. New SSD didn’t work... but now it works again! It was a developer / insider build after all. Had to wait for new OSU to come out a few days ago to fix the insider build corrupt files. I Plugged in new OSU1 with flash stick and it updated great. Then I joined insider hub on the console and went to -> settings -> manage devices -> unenroll Xbox one x from developer program -> restart -> reset to factory. Now I’m back to release build with no issues and a new SSD. Woo hoo!
Thanks! I bought a bad console that was seemingly trash for 20 dollars. The hard drive wouldn't take to the script and when it did for some reason it replicated itself. Purchased a new harddrive and did this, worked as well as new. Thank you again!
Thank you so much for the video. My Xbox One X started taking a long time to load up and very sluggish in the menus. Games would not respond correctly. After watching some videos online I decided to change out the hard drive with a 1Tb SSD. I followed your video step by step and I was able to get my Xbox One X back up and running. Just now loading up my first game to see how everything is running. So far so good. Thank you again!
Hey thanks for this it worked for me on the second go! In case anyone is having issues I tried this twice. The first time I tried with an old 2.5" 2tb drive from an external HDD enclosure that I had reformatted. It didn't work, I kept getting E200 error codes on startup with the recycled HDD. I tried again with a brand new 2tb HDD and it worked first time. Make of that what you will, but if anyone is stuck might be something to consider.
Thank you so much. The most time consuming part for me was just carefully disassembling and re-assembling my xbox to install the new hard drive. Everything worked like a charm.
Had a problem 102,103,106. I used your video and followed along, console would still remain on E106. Tried power cycles, bind and eject and nothing. I did one hallmary and was surprised it work . I combined OSU1 with OSU 3 files onto a USB to perform offline system update. Now there are 6 files that share the same name and won't move over. Keep the larger OSU3 files. So basically you are making a USB drop OSU3 into OSU1 and let it overwrite the 6 files. Then try to perform the offline system update. This worked for me, it may not work for you but I wanted to share bc I'm just a normal guy and this video helped me out a lot to get a brand new hard drive installed, formatted. Thanks. Drew. Followed another tutorial that was super similar, but it wouldn’t work. This did. Started receiving “There’s a problem with your saved games” on my One X, and shortly after it’d brick. Bought a 2TB Seagate Barracuda and followed this with no issues. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much for this in depth guide. I watched and rewatched the Andrew Paul video (which is excellent) but did not work. it cleared my E102 but then i got an E106. He missed the important step of opening the OSU1 files for drive x which you actually did. You saved this xbox one. Thanks so much
YOU ARE DA BEST!!! Fucking hell the feeling of not being able to game for 3 weeks!! All thanks to you my Xbox is up and running again. It had shown all the errors (E101, E102, E106, etc.) First I replaced the connectors but that didn't work. Soon I realised the problem was in my hard drive. Got a new one and did as you said and BOOM! Finally it's as good as a new one. Don't doubt this vid fellas, it works 💯% Cheers and thanks once again!
Absolute life saver you are!! Thank you for making such a good tutorial! Last week my Xbox one X frozed while I was playing, tried to reboot and it never turn on again. Tried holding sync and eject button but nothing shows up, just no signal via HDMI. My Xbox is out of warranty anyway so I decided to open up myself, took out the 1TB Seagate hard drive and plug into my PC and it won't read the HD, that's when I know something is up with the drive. I have a 240GB SSD lying around and I thought I'd give it a try just to make sure it's the HD. Followed your tutorial but at about 70% update, it always error out with error code E102 which I kind of suspect as 240GB is not enough storage. I went ahead and bought a new 1TB Samsung 970EVO SSD and followed the instructions again, this time it boots up all ok. I'm up and running again saving me fortunes to repair it from Microsoft. Just want to say thank you for this great tutorial!
For those who have xbox one x, already changed the hd and continues to present errors and crashes, I solved my adapting an external hd case and feeding the power of hd by the usb input of the console itself. Because the problem is in the power supply pro hd on the motherboard. The hd is going off or crashing with the console running due to some power instability, so throwing crashes and errors on power up. This tip is only for those who already changed the hd and the errors continued. I had to have surgery on the case plate, because I had to cut and unsolder the Data Sata socket (keeping the power sata socket), so that I could put a sata data cable from these computer and connect it to the motherboard. xbox, I kept the hd inside the console, the case wire I went through one of the side holes, without cutting the case, and plugged it into the usb input of the console. Remembering that the case card will only serve to power the hd, you will have, as said, use a sata data cable to connect to the motherboard, if not the device does not turn on. I'll wait for some technician to post which motherboard component is failing so I can replace this component because it's hard to figure out when the problem happens only once in a while. I've been testing and forcing the Xbox for 5 days, and it didn't crash anymore, no errors either.
Came here after watching some of XFiX's vids and such. This is another excellent video on the subject. The one 'gotcha' is that, after you install your new drive into the XBox, you need to follow this special power-on sequence correctly the FIRST time, i.e. from a "cold boot". If you make a mistake and the XBox starts up "normally" (goes the home screen right away), that's OK -- just UNPLUG it, re-plug it, and start over as from a "cold boot" again. Make sense? Another point of note. Most of the files in the System Update A/B folders are language-support. You can technically exclude the ones you don't need. All of these language-support files are named like "aa-bb.xvd", where the "aa-bb" part is the language-country code; for example, "en-au" is "English-Australia", "es-mx" is "Espanol-Mexico" (Mexican Spanish), etc. As an English speaker, for example, I ONLY included the 3 that started with 'en-**': "en-au.xvd", "en-ca.xvd", and "en-gb.xvd". Notice that none of those are "en-us", United States English; so in THEORY, I probably did not need ANY of the language files. Since US English is the 'default' language of the console, it stands to reason that there's no 'extra language file' for it. But I figured it doesn't hurt to have at least one, if the XBox system-updater starts looking for them. Hope that helps future viewers & hackers. GLHF! =)
New X box X. Only used 2 months but bought last year. Wouldn’t update wouldn’t do anything. Found this. Got new HD and followed through. One working X box. FANTASTIC.
So found your video to be helpful! But through my experience I learned that if a console is part of the "Xbox Preview Program," then none of this, including the OSU1 offline update will work, even with a new hard drive. I thought my Xbox One X had a bad hard drive since a recent update got caught in a fail/restart cycle. Replaced the hard drive with a new one, but same issue continued to happen and offline update would always instantly fail. Decided to test the old hard drive with SeaTools and both short and long generic tests passed on the old HHD. So started looking at other issues. Finally was able to determine that the offline update and/or scripts for a new hard drive will not work for a console on the Xbox Preview Program. To do so, the console must be removed (unenrolled) from the preview program and then offline update or even an online update will work. At least that is what worked for me.
Thanks Kyle - you are correct. It will sometimes work for Preview enrolled Xbox's but it will force a "standard OS" update as soon as it is up and running again
So I’m currently in this situation. Just bought a used xbox one x and apparently it was part of the preview program (xbox insider). The OS version is 19041.6288.amd64fre.xb yada yada yada.. I’m simply trying to upgrade to a SSD. Just did an upgrade last month, and all I did was throw the new SSD in the xbox and do an offline OS1 update. Everything worked perfect. This time around is way different. Keep getting error codes. Have done multiple restores and attempted offline updates. Even joined the insider program and unenrolled to get the xbox serial number off the program. Let the xbox run for 72, which it said it may need that long to unenroll. Restarted xbox, restored xbox, tried everything. Still has that same insider program OS. Won’t accept the OS1 offline update with the factory HHD. If I go through the process in this video with my new SSD, do you think everything will be ok or do you think the insider program has messed it up. Xbox works completely. Just can’t upgrade to SSD or offline update
@@abasiczombie. Hi - on a PC, delete ALL partitions from the SSD so the SSD it totally blank. Then, install the SSD into the Xbox and power on - from the menu select offline update and plug in a USB with the latest OSU1 from Microsoft. After it installs, it will force you to download and re-install the Insider OSU1
@@TweakTips do I need to delete all partitions from the SSD if I just opened it? It’s brand new, never been used apart from trying to offline update to OS1 about 20 times. Gets to 1% and says something went wrong. Error: E101 00000504 8B050041
@@abasiczombie. When you say you joined the insider program, I assume you did that through your own account/gamertag? If the previous owner originally had it on the preview program, then maybe Microsoft is still tracking that system is enrolled through their account/gamertag? I had two Xboxes have this issue at the same time, and full factory resets doesn't seem to unenroll them from the program. So I had to have my brother sign in to my account on his Xbox and then go to the preview program and unenroll the Xboxes on my account. Then for me, online updates instantly worked on both boxes. So if you by chance can still contact the previous owner, may see if they can still unenroll that Xbox from the preview program. That at least would be my best guess.
Thank you so much for this guide! Simple and straightforward, seriously could not recommend it enough for any that are looking to attempt this repair. Thank you once again sir, couldn't have done it without this video!
Thanks so much! My Xbox one X wasn’t booting up for a year and was dusting away in the attic because Xbox wanted to charge me 270€ for repair! Which is insane. Now I can use it again thanks to following these exact steps, and saved 270€. I used the original hdd too. Now looking to upgrade de hdd to a ssd, using these same steps.
How do I know what size SATA Caddy to get for my existing Xbox One machine in order to connect it to my computer? The link you provided shows some for a 2.5 inch drive and another one is for a 3.0 inch SATA drive. Also, I thought I read somewhere that if you upgrade your existing HD from a 1TB drive to a 2 TB drive that you will end up having errors because the Blue Ray Drive has to match the existing HD - is that correct?
Hi Eddie - it is the 2.5 inch version you need (like this one - amzn.to/3aKgk0D). The hard drive capacity has no match with the blu-ray drive so a 500GB, 1TB or 2TB drive will work fine

Hello, I'm getting error code e105 which isn't listed in your video, along with the something went wrong message on my Xbox one x. Do you have any idea whether this is also related to a HDD issue, or something else? It also sometimes gives the "something is wrong with your saved games" message with a screen that gives you the option to either reset the console, troubleshoot, turn it off. It also just randomly shuts down at times. Thanks for any help you can give me as I'm pulling my hair out over this.
E105 can mean a number of issues, faulty firmware and faulty hard drive - I would try swapping the hard drive as in the video with a replacement first of all - hope you get it working again.
@@TweakTips Thanks for the speedy reply. I think I will try swapping the HDD and see how that works. Because a few days ago, something really strange happened. I was playing Monster Hunter world and had invited two of my friends on one of my quest. @@Imadeyourun Hi Festering, I am very well thank you, and hope you are too. That is a little odd, and not something I have seen before. I did have a strange date like that when running an update from USB - have you tried to manually check for an update with in the dashboard? It will probably say no update available (if you downloaded the latest update to USB) but worth a try. What version number does it give for the dashboard? If it is 10.0.18362.6065 then you have the latest version. If the Xbox is working correctly, I wouldn't worry about it too much, as the next update they push will fix the date issue. Also, its worth checking that the date and time is set correctly on your xbox.
@@TweakTips Yeah, I also doing fine, thank you very much. Yes, the update showing is the latest one: 10.0.18362.6065. And the time and date is also correct. It doesn't really worry me much, just as long as I don't get any more errors and I'm able to play without and further disturbances. I just wanted to know what the cause was since not even Microsoft themselves seem to have the foggiest. Anyway, thanks again for the swift reply. And I keep up the great work! @@babaganoosh1041 It depends on the current version of the firmware installed on your Xbox. If it does, then you might need to change the firmware chip on the DVD board to a spare working board. Before you try that, down load the latest OSU1 file to USB and try to load it again on to your XBox using the method of holding down eject and bind again (just in case the first time you tried it did not work correctly)
Will this process work with a 2T seagate ST2000LX001 sshd? And would the caddy you linked also work? I’ve been trying to find the same seagate drive you used in this video but currently out of stock.
Hi, yes the 2TB Seagate drive will work (I have not tried the exact model you have mentioned, but as long as it is 2.5 and SATA then it will work) - also remember to select the 2TB option from the options when you run the script. And yes, the caddy will also work.. good luck and let us know if you have any questions..
booBeam Tech it took me a while to get everything I needed from Amazon but finally got everything done and it works flawlessly. Thank you for the detailed video it helped a ton! 😁
Symptoms of failure: Slowing in loading times. Lagging in games, noises from the hard drive, having to factory reset the xbox often, and finally 3 boot noises and spinning sounds coming from the xbox then the xbox powering off without seeing the boot logo. (if youre seeing this last one you cannot copy the drive it's 💩)
Need help here done this to the word and thought it was going to work. Update got to 85% in the installation process using a new drive then crashed. Constantly getting error 101 now and won't even try to update as the error message shows instantly every time!!!! : (
Great tutorial thanks, just a quick question, when you have finished installing on your hard drive you have 2.3GB free of 11.9GB and 77,924 on your updater.xvd - mine shows 1.45GB free of 11.5GB and 121,624KB on the updater.xvd, mine is a 1TB HD Seagate Firecuda, guessing I have done something wrong?? or is it something to do with the Firecuda being an SSHD??
Hi Mutley - Thanks for the comment. No, you have not done anything wrong, I think it will be because (asyou say) the drive are different... and the files I use in the video are from about a year ago and the file sizes would have changed since making the video. I would plug it back into your Xbox and give it a go..
@@TweakTips Thanks for that, it is only this instructions video that has spurred me on to doing it, was not confident at all, but the great step by step instructions for setting the hard drive up are perfect, so thanks again and will be putting the drive in at the weekend, will let you know how it goes, cheers.
Well I couldn't wait until the weekend, popped the new hard drive in today it started up and is up and running perfectly again, so once again many thanks for the perfect tutorial. :)
Did you install the new hard drive? I bought my xbox one x off of ebay and it worked great for a couple of months and then I started getting several different types of error codes and now I think I may have to resort to replacing the hard drive.
Hi booBeam can i ask you another question? i bought a Toshiba 1tb but it doesnt work, I tried with another disk's and it works. Do you know if a ssd kingston 480gb would work?
@@rosmotovlog1357 Go for the 1TB option. Alternatively, if you are installing the latest OS, you do not need to worry about partitioning the HDD anymore - make sure the drive is blank with NO partitions and pop that into your Xbox and perform a system update via USB. The Xbox will create the partitions on its own
I may have identified why this didn't work for me. Which zip files, if any, do you have to extract before transferring? I never extracted the boot animation, hdd master file, nor the OSU1 that I put on my USB.
Doesn't seem to work anymore updated osu is now 6gb so copying to A and B takes up to much space on SystemUpdate(X:) is there perhaps a modified script that creates a larger partition?
Hi Guy, Recently Microsoft updated this process, so you no longer need to partition the drive (as long as the original OS version on your Xbox is newer than 2021) - simply delete everything from your replacement hard drive (including the partitions), install it into the xbox and follow the video from here - th-cam.com/video/tUisAJjfGz0/w-d-xo.html
Hi, I put a new SSD in the One X and tried the direct from USB OSU1 update method (without scripting and master file) but it would not get past 1%. When I removed the hard drive from the xbox and plug it back into the PC, it does show the different partitions but I haven't looked further inside the folders. Do you think the method you've used should fix my issue (E101) The hard drive is tested and working. Also, will having the latest update installed to the xbox affect which OSU1 file is use (I will download latest released anyway) Thanks for the vid, makes the this method look alot easier than I've seen in some other videos.
Hi Daniel. As you have tried, you can install a new hard drive (without the partitions) and install the update via USB, but this will only work if your XBox already has a new update installed (from memory it needs to be a version from September 2020 onwards). If you have an older version, then you will need to use the method in the video (create the partitions with the script etc).
@@TweakTips thanks for the quick reply 👍. When I put the original hard drive back in, the latest update went through so I'll double check that I'm up to date and then try the new hard drive again through the USB method. Hi Andre - your English is good my friend. Did you hold down the eject and bind buttons until you hear 4 start up beeps? If not try it again as it takes a few attempts to get it correctly.
You have to go to the channel he linked in the description then go to the playlist that has the hard drive thumbnail then there should be a link to download it im not sure if you ever figured it out but here you go if you didn't

Hi, awesome and very informative video. I am having no progress with my Xbox one X, I've tried everything in the boot menu including an offline update to which it gets to exactly 86% then gives me an E101 or E203. So I powered it down, remove the power cord for more than 20 to 30mins a time, plug in the cord and power-on the console again, it then resumes the offline update from about 73% and freezes again at 86% then pops the error. I have been at this now going on 3 weeks. Does this sound like a Hard Drive issue or other in your opinion? I really want to resolve this. Thanks.
@@TweakTips Thank you so much, I'll be sure to update you after I purchase and install the new Hard Drive, after I follow your easy step by step video guide... You are indeed very helpful, superb job!
I bought off FB marketplace and obviously the xbox will not update. Didnt have internet when I bought it. I am not a Xbox Pro. Obviously. I have no clue what specs the new hard drive needs to be. Im a New Guy that got taken I think.
@@michaeloswalt2135 HI Michael - sorry to hear that. It could be one of two things. The firmware IC on the motherboard is faulty (which needs to be repaired by Microsoft) or it could be your hard drive starting to fail. As it will be a lot cheaper to replace the hard drive, I would try that first. The hard drive you require is a 1TB 2.5 inch SATA drive (like this one (or a similar brand) - amzn.to/3hLNvE1). Once you have the drive you will be able to follow the video and fingers crossed, that will solve your problems.
Hi Martin - usually when you have had these errors, it means the hard drive is starting to fail, so you could reformat it and it will work for a while, but eventually it will start to produce the errors again. You could use it in a laptop (if you happen to have a laptop with no hard drive!) as Windows is a lot better at detecting bad sectors, marking them as faulty and not using them.. unfortunately the Xbox does not have that ability.
just a question the system update files are larger than the system update x size so i cannot copy both files in folder a and B , is there another system update file ? the one in your link is 6.7gb
Depending on the version operating system you have installed on your Xbox, you now can simply install a blank hard drive into the Xbox, and install the OSU1 file from USB (there is no need to copy the files to the hard drive anymore as Microsoft updated the process about a year ago)
It seems to keep resetting all the time then the xbox sign just flashes. I tried like 3 hardrives but I read something about the HDD connector that might be the issue should I try resorting to this option and can it be any hdd connector purchased from an online tech store ?
I have more files than yours coming from the xboxonehddmaster5. its 45 or so instead of your 32. should i delete the extra files to match yours or do i have an updated version with more files?
Im having an issue where no files open/ no new volumes are created as shown around 9:40 and within the command print it only shows 3 volumes and says no usb/SATA drive found when the hard drive is clearly connected by usb and it deleted the new volume created in the beginning. I’ve completely wiped the hard drive and created a new volume again. I’m not sure why I’m having this issue. It is a 2TB hard drive and I’ve tried selecting d) 2TB and also c)1TB and it still says no usb found and all the volumes do not show in command prompt.
Hi! I have a number of errors, bit of research bought a new ssd, the videos I have seen just change hard drive and update offline, None of this has worked, if i format the ssd like in this video do u think that will resolve? Thanks
Main wrecking culprit is Overheating the Southbridge processor by using a Fake white (fabric-mesh) Thermal pad causing hence Data Corruptions. Replace the white fake pad with any Real blue/grey Thermal Pad 2mm thick. SB processor is located in the bottom side of the motherboard under the powersupply-module position. These hardware fix will stop returning datacorruptions caused by the overheated SB i/o processor.
I am not sure if this is supposed to be like so or not but the US link to the SATA USB drive caddy is converted into USB type C instead of USB 3.0, this may cause problems for people because not everyone has a USB type C port on the device they are using to download the files onto the HDD.
Hello ,i want to replace my xbox x HDD with SSD. If i followed your instruction, will it work out ? And is the link you posted updated to the latest version? Thank you
TweakTips you deserve a pint!!
Thanks David.. appreciate it. Great to hear you got your XBox up and running again

Woo hoo!

Do I need to have a microsoft computer to format the hard drive? I have a mac computer.
Thanks. Drew. Thank you so much for this in depth guide. I watched and rewatched the Andrew Paul video (which is excellent) but did not work. it cleared my E102 but then i got an E106.
Great work Jairo - thanks for your top tip

GLHF! =)
Thanks Nate - great tips

I was fixing my little brother's Xbox and this video was the fix. If you have problem with the system only updating to 50% this is the fix.
I will say I created the partitions myself instead of using the command prompt since that's not really necessary to have to do all that.
Thanks Trevor

If you have a PC with two HDD channels (two SATA controllers) on board, yes. You still need to boot Windows for this to work, so you can only add the hard drive as a second device

Hello,
I get to 7:32 in the video. It shows the New Volume hhd as Disk 2 in disk management, but the script only allows [0,1]. I do not have a Disk 1 shown in Disk Management. If I click 1, it then shows some caution and warning screens, and says under guid that the "ECHO is off" and no further information. It says it will ease all data on the disk and if I should continue. How can I fix it to get it back on track?
Hi, thanks for the comment. It sounds like it could be either your hard drive is faulty (windows not detecting) or the USB/SATA adapter/cradle is not working. Do you have any lights on your adapter? Can you hear the hard drive spin up when you connect it to your PC?

Recently Microsoft updated this process, so you no longer need to partition the drive (as long as the original OS version on your Xbox is newer than 2021) - simply delete everything from your replacement hard drive (including the partitions), install it into the xbox and follow the video from here - th-cam.com/video/tUisAJjfGz0/w-d-xo.html

Hello,
I'm getting error code e105 which isn't listed in your video, along with the something went wrong message on my Xbox one x.
The moment they joined, they could see my character, but I couldn't see theirs, even though we were all fighting the same monster. After that incident, I started getting the error codes again, lol.

Hello boomBeam Tech,
How are you? I hope you are doing well.
I just wanted to let you know that I have swapped my HDD with a new one. One of my friends upgraded to an SSD, so he gave me his old HDD.
After swapping, I have so far not faced any of the E-error codes that were previously plaguing my console. But one peculiar thing I notice, is that the last update is dated 12/31/1600. Have you ever faced this issue, or have any idea of what could be the cause? Thanks in advance!
@@TweakTips
Yeah, I also doing fine, thank you very much.
Yes, the update showing is the latest one: 10.0.18362.6065. And the time and date is also correct.
I have read that other users were experiencing the same issue after having swapped there HDD and, or updating from a USB stick.
It doesn't really worry me much, just as long as I don't get any more errors and I'm able to play without and further disturbances. I just wanted to know what the cause was since not even Microsoft themselves seem to have the foggiest.
Anyway, thanks again for the swift reply. And I keep up the great work! You have really help a lot!

Yes, I do. When installing a new drive (and basically resetting back to factory) you should use OSU1

My Xbox One S 500 Gb HDD was dead, I had the E102 error code. I installed a new 1Tb HDD, following all your instructions to the letter. But, a problem appeared during the offline update... The box stop doing the update at 3% of the third step (60 % of total update), indicating me the following error code : E100 00000706 80070002. Do you ever seen something like that ?
Hi Laurent - That error code indicates the update cannot find your DVD/Blu-Ray drive - are you sure you have connected it back up correctly? You can test it by trying to insert a disc into the drive to see if it has power

Hi, it nearly worked for me.. after following all your steps and working through 2/3 of these console update steps, ill get the same e100 error all the time. So do you know whats the problem? Motherboard?
E100 usually indicates that the DVD drive mismatch/not married to the motherboard. Have you ever swapped the optical drive out? Make sure the DVD drive that came with the console from new is connected

I have a number of errors, bit of research bought a new ssd, the videos I have seen just change hard drive and update offline,
None of this has worked, if i format the ssd like in this video do u think that will resolve?
Thanks
Hi Ed - It certainly is worth a try. Following the steps in the video will not damage the hard drive so it is worth a try.
@@TweakTips ok thank so much for the reply,
if that doesn't work is it time to throw the xbox?
Do you NEED to offline update? Bc my xbox was on the latest patch when it stopped working
These hardware fix will stop returning datacorruptions caused by the overheated SB i/o processor.
when do you release the power button after staring up?
Just tap the power button (only hold down and keep holding down eject and bind)
I am not sure if this is supposed to be like so or not but the US link to the SATA USB drive caddy is converted into USB type C instead of USB 3.0, this may cause problems for people because not everyone has a USB type C port on the device they are using to download the files onto the HDD.
Thanks Tyer - link now updated
Hello ,i want to replace my xbox x HDD with SSD. If i followed your instruction, will it work out ? And is the link you posted updated to the latest version? Thank you
Yes.. SSD will work, but do not expect a massive increase in performance.
Does this work for original Xbox as well
Sure does ;-)
