Hi mate, I'm about to get a golf mk4 as my first car and I've watched every one of your vw golf videos so far - you've really helped me understand a bit about how stuff is gonna fit if I have any issues. Love the videos bro keep em coming 👍

Hi mate, I must say I'm very flattered that you have watched all of the VW videos which means you even stuck around for the boring ones!!! Thanks for watching mate and supporting. The most important thing is doing your research. I'm excited for you mate and I hope the car lives up to your expectations.

Looks good in the dash, these Pioneer units always seem to match the interior of the Mk4 pretty well. I imagine you'll use Bluetooth from your phone most of the time, but if you do use the radio and find that the signal isn't great, you'll need an adapter that lets you put 12V to the antenna cable. Stock headunit does this for you, but the aftermarket ones just need the powered antenna adapter (not crucial though). The wood grain is nice, but I think the net optic or aluminium trim looks much nicer. The least time consuming method is just to get ready cut vinyl to stick over the top of the wood grain, although obviously it won't have an as nice of a finish to it.

Thankfully it doesn't look too out of place there man you are right. I normally use my phone for the radio because the signal is always better so I would just use that through bluetooth. I think sometimes the signal just gets a bit sketchy so I have an app. I will look into getting an adaptor though so thanks for that advice. I'm a bit sick of the wood grain in the car now and I saw someone use enamel paint on their interior for their E46 and it came out with a nice finish so I might see how that goes, alternatively maybe do a wrap job.

Hahaha I'm sure you can find those original radio units easily. I'm guessing someone fitted a more modern stereo to your car?

Damn, sounds very tempting but I'm not sure if I'm ready to drop that kind of money on the car.
