Nice install bro. Clean and tidy, and it gave you an excuse to fix those broken brackets for the door card screws. New head unit paired with those speakers and the sound quality will be epic.
Yeah man thanks it was not a bad install but I would like to make better wiring connections because those space connectors look ugly even though they are hidden. I can't wait to get a new head unit man. I'm buzzing bro thanks for tour comment!!

At 18 it must be very difficult, I wasn't even driving at that age so you have already done well. You could always sell it and get another one when you get a few years older. I know it's not what you want to hear but it's light at the end of the tunnel.
@@SPOOLINUP Yeah, I really don't want a black box due to the restrictions it gives, such as harsh braking, can't use phone for music, etc. So me and my father are going to see what happens with me on his insurance if i can't get insured on the golf I'll probably give the car to my mother so i can have it back later down the road because it is in stupid good condition. I was looking at mk6/7 1.4 golfs as insurance is relatively cheap and should be able to get one without a blackbox on my fathers insurance 👍
That sounds like a pretty solid plan mate, I hope that all works out. How long have you had this car for now? My insurance went up by £100 this year and I've not had any claims or anything. I don't know why it's so expensive but it's a shame for you because you love your car and you look after it so your insurance should be cheap.
@@SPOOLINUP Honestly i think i've messed something up whilst looking for quotes so my father is going to have a look closer to my test date to see if there is a way for me to keep the golf, but i've had it since 09/2022
theres a unit that fits almost directly into the golf that looks stock and its called RCN210 it has Bluetooth, aux and plays CDs too. if you want to keep the stock look of your dash you should look it up there's a good bit of videos on TH-cam and some discussions on VW forums. but this is what I plan swap my unit out with.

Nice work! Looks like it came like that from the factory :D Seems the job is more involved than on a Leon, that has the tweeters integrated in the doorcard. Any ideas for the headunit? I put a 'high-end' chinese android unit in both of my cars and very pleased with them. They're cheaper than one from the big brands like Pioneer and seem a lot more feature packed with full on android capabilities.

I know those Android ones are really competitive and actually offer some really good features. I think after next payday I will have a look and see what is knocking around. There is a guy not far from me who breaks cars and I know he has a couple of decent ones for sale so I will see. Is the sound quality better with the upgraded unit?
@@SPOOLINUP Absolutely, was a huge improvement! Big upgrade in terms of amplifier, bass and stuff like equalizer options. With the Golf already having 2Din capability, it's pretty much a drop in solution for you as well.
Exactly man, I know it will fit straight in without too much messing around. I'm looking forward to setting up a new unit and seeing how it goes. I probably will get a touch screen one because it looks a lot cleaner than the older school style with buttons.
Im guessing no 4 channel amp for your speakers, you’ll probably damage them soon by under powering them. No crossover for your tweeter, they will perform terribly as your feeding them every frequency, standard have the cap on the back to level out and deliver high frequencies only. Car audio installation is not this easy folks. Lovely install I do have to say, however get those speakers amped and a crossover installed

Hey, sorry I do not know what the tweeter size is for the MK5. I would recommend Google but even on there I cannot find a clear answer. Maybe it's best go ask on a forum. Most of the time the replacements are slightly bigger and modification is required.

You would be surprised what makes a quote cheaper, sometimes the things that you think will make it cheaper actually raise the price.
