@@causticorator618 They have the right not to want their HARD WORK given away for free! People are like petulant children these days! They want want want and get pissed if they don't get it! You try creating works of art, putting all you are into it, sacrificing time with family/friends to create music for fans just to have them whine because you didn't give it to them for free....... NOW how do you feel about it!? They are a band that existed through the transition from a time when people were mature, respectable, honorable, etc. and gave high value to those traits, to now where people are immature, disrespectful, weasels that only care about themselves, safe-space whine bag children in adults bodies..... a hard transition to live through for anyone (myself being one of them) but especially when you are a band of their caliber! They go from people/fans who would pay HIGH DOLLAR to see them in concert, get one of their albums, etc. (showing respect and value for their hard work), to people/so called fans that not only "want" but EXPECT them to "give away" their hard work to an entitled people who don't even know what hard work is! Yeah, you don't really want to "reward" that type of people..... and they damn sure don't deserve it! So no, it isn't "about the money", the last estimate of their net worth is around $820 MILLION...... its about, well, if you don't get it by now you never will!

Ezra, they have different sounds from different eras. From their earlier stuff, I like "The Four Horsemen". The drums actually sound like hoof beats, and there are two really great solos and beautiful harmonizations.
Instrumentals; lay back and close your eyes with "Orion" , and "Call of Kutulu".
With Symphony; "No leaf clover", and "Whiskey in the Jar".
Pretty much all good, but these would be a pretty solid start.

My family has alot of vets and I know the hardships that they have when they come home like my great grandpa brown he served in the Korean war I think. He was in the navy I never got to meet him because he died of cancer but my parents and grandparents tell me that he wasn't like he was when he came back. He I think had PTSD. My grandfather Rick was in the air force and one day he took me to a air force museum in Dayton Ohio and he had a hint of sadness in his eyes as he looked at the planes. He also snaps in and out of reality and I can tell that hes thinking of the war. I can say that all vets that I know because there's alot more that I know have something that sets them off. I know that they have regrets but I know that if they could go back and do it again they'd do it the same

One of my favorite songs ever. It covers a lot of emotions. As someone who has dealt with depression all my life it speaks to me. When I am down I can turn on this song and vent my despair in a positive manner and after it's over I always feel better. There is a way to positively vent even darker emotions. So when people complain that music is too angry, aggressive or violent I always point out that those are all emotions that we have to deal with and there is a positive way to let those emotions out. Just knowing that there's music out that that can personally speak to me tells me that I'm not alone....it helps me to empathize better with others because I know others can empathize with me. So next time you hear something that sounds too angry, too aggressive or too violent then just think that these musicians are not trying to incite violence....they're letting thsoe emotions out in a positive manner and allowing the audience to do the exact same thing.

    Drifting further everyday
    Getting lost within myself

I have lost the will to live
    Simply nothing more to give
There is nothing more for me
Need the end to set me free
Things not what they used to be
    Missing one inside of me
Deathly loss this can't be real
Cannot stand this hell I feel
    Emptiness is filling me
    To the point of agony
    Growing darkness taking dawn
I was me but now, he's gone
No one but me can save myself, but its too late
Now I can't think, think why I should even try

Death greets me warm, now I will just say goodbye

The intensity of the music is more a building up of emotion to embrace the act of suicide.
When he says "Death greets me warm now I will just say goodbye" is him taking solice in meeting his own end. Like Death has a warm comforting embrace ... now he will just say goodbye ... is his surrender to the fact that hes going to die. Because he sees it as his only option.

This is one of my favorite Metallica songs. This is exactly how I feel when I'm deeply depressed and I'll listen this over and over again and for some reason it gets me out. I relate to a lot of their songs... other artists too. A lot of the songs are what they're feeling emotionally. Now you should react to "For Whom The Bell Tolls"...my go to road rage song and my other fav!!! 😂😂 I hope that you have a wonderful and blessed day my friend!!! 🙂🙂 🐧🐧

I'll start by saying that I despise reaction channels, but, for some reason, I love your channel. I've been watching a ton of your videos lately, and when I seen you were reacting to metal songs, specifically Metallica, I sought out this video. Fade To Black was the first Metallica song I ever listened to, and I've been hooked since then. My dad was a correctional officer and had taken his road crew out one day to pick up trash when he found Metallica's Ride The Lightning cd. He brought it home to me, and it was scratched to pieces, but Fade to Black played without any skipping or interruption. I listened to this song over and over, literally 20 to 30 times a day. I had just lost my 18 year old cousin, who was like a big brother to me in a car wreck, and I felt like this song was talking to me. I credit God and that song for getting me through an extremely hard time in my life.

Fade to black was written when all of Metallica’s gear got stolen including James’ (who’s the singer and rhythm guitarist) amp. It was a really low time and they wrote it about the depression they faced

Do "To Live is to Die" there is maybe 1 damn line in the whole thing. It is entirely instrumental but if you listen to it you can HEAR the progression of life. From birth to childhood to rebellious teen to optimistic young adult to jaded middle age to an old man dying alone and ends in rebirth/afterlife like the cycle begins again.

I find this song to be heavily influenced by Pink Floyd, not just with a slight borrow of "Goodbye Blue Sky" for the intro, but the outro of the song shifts to almost the exact chord progressions as "Comfortably Numb", which you just reacted to the other day. I find the influence to help set a jumping off point for Metallica to take the flag and run with it, which helps with the epic scale of both songs.
This is one my favorite Metallica songs, and it brings me goosebumps almost every time I hear it. Keep up the great reactions!

For me, Metal is a story told through emotion. Hip hop is a story told through conversation. That's why usually a person is a fan of both. Even if they don't want to admit it. Props for having an open mind.
