Hey everyone! I just added a E-Flat Major version to the store if this hymn is not played in D-Major in your area - please find the link attached here: feypaul.sellfy.store/p/meditation-abide/
Paul I must tell you magnificent melody, and your play on organ surrounds me a happy aura. You wish me good luck on my sister wedding, where I'll be singed on the wedding.
So beautiful. It's soft sweet and gentle and a beautiful rendition of abid with me. I absolutely love it. Paul you are so talented! I love when you post new videos. I can't wait for your next one.
I like the way you have reinterpreted this Victorian melody as something that's more like a Bach chorale prelude while at the same time maintaining the calm, sure sense of faith that goes with the words.
A week ago, YT suggested your recital of the BWV 156 sinfonia upon my listening to Gert vH's recent performance of the same composition. Your channel captured my interest immediately and I continued studying several other of the videos straight away. I find your compositions elegant and this Meditation on Eventide is ethereal. The tones/timbres of the Waldkirchen organ are magnificent (in particular the notes you play on the Choir manual) and the slow and dignified tempo completes a perfect listening experience. You master melody, harmony and counterpoint - as JSB did in Leipzig three centuries ago. Thank you Paul. I shall remain looking forward to all you new releases.
Stunningly beautiful. The Largo tempo provides just the right mood for a contemplative, worshipful, meditative solo of the tune Eventide. The subtle use of ornamentation adds a layer of elegance. Yet another gem from Paul Fey. I remain incredibly impressed at the sheer volume of excellent music you're producing, Paul. Thank you for sharing this gift of music with the world. And... here I go back to the Paul Fey store so that I can bless my own congregation next week with your music. They are becoming huge fans by the way...
I played this for prelude yesterday (29 Jan 23). Our choir director immediately recognized it during my preservice warmup asking if it was Paul Fey. You're famous! Thank you again for making your work available to the world. It's an incredible blessing to have international access to a contemporary organist as talented as you are.
Very beautiful Paul ! The lead voice is a bit loud to enjoy your wonderful accompagnement, but very nice anyway ! Are you aware of the adaptation Markus Dreja made with this lovely choral ? I'm sure you are ! Nice week to you !

Paul, I just returned from church. Delighted to find you performing this beautiful piece - a perfect complement to this morning's worship. Many thanks. Andre
Hey, lieber Paul.
A beautiful 'Meditation', Paul. There is a feel of JSB in the structure which works really well and suits the mood of this composition perfectly: bravo!
You have created an inspiring meditation on this familiar tune, Paul. As always, I particularly enjoy your creative introductions and interludes. A beautiful tranquil composition. Thanks for sharing your incredible talents with us.
As i mentioned before i am not a musician but with a meditation piece this is slowed down a lot from the tune we know in the UK i am not sure an untrained singer could sing along with such loooooojjgggggggggg notes🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎼🎼🎼🎼🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶🎵🎵🎶
Beautiful one Paul! I like it! (This is NOT a criticism) But I wonder... I have to find someone who plays this for me on the Hill organ / Berlin, with the Double Clarinet of the Swell, an octave higher, tremmed? Should fit very well, I think. Would you like to try this in secret and let me know how that sounds? 😃 😇
I really like this musical work which is exceptionally beautiful to listen to. It is very melodious and full of sensitivity. I think this music could easily be used for a great movie ! However, I much less like this G minor chord that I hear at 3:33. I don't know why he annoys me ? 😁🎶
@@PaulFey Perfectly and that's exactly what I had thought....followed by A 4....I didn't dare suggest it. But the original music is like a beautiful painting, we can't add paint to it. So I'll play this G minor. Maybe I'll get used to it 😳🎶😁
@@luisl2066 Haha, no worries Luis - that’s an interesting way to look at music in general though!! You are allowed to change the chord if you feel like it 😊😀

Merci 🙏 beaucoup Paul
A meditation, wonderful to hear, even better when I can play it myself. Therefore: I'll order the sheet music right away.😃
Hi Paul. I especially liked the ending with its deliberate quieter nature via the lowered tones.
Thank you so much, Steven! 😀
Das fand ich wieder sehr schön. Ich liebe auch diese ruhigen Stücke.
