Beautiful and yet relatively simple. You're a wonderfully gifted composer and performer. I can tell you really put your heart and soul into it. Keep up the good work!
Amazing how much diversity of emotional feeling a set of variations can evoke. It is particularly well expressed in a piece like this where most us are accustom to thinking of this hymn always in a rather strident tone, it is fascinating to hear the variations that expression an almost gentle and compassionate note. Well done.
Eine atemberaubende Komposition, Paul, die diese wunderschöne walisische Hymne erkundet. Die Variationen sind exquisit gestaltet und voller Interesse. Du bist wirklich ein fabelhafter Komponist! Bravo!
Thank you ! I really like the way you have captured the spirit of a Pachelbel choral partita and created a new dimension to this melody, which fits in well with the meaning of the word hyfrydol (delightful, pleasing, beautiful etc.) As this tune is also used for a well-known 19th century eucharistic hymn, I think another time there might be scope for an improvisation exploring this dimension.

@@douglascollier7767 Hey Douglas, I'm so happy to hear that! You won't regret it, it's a lot of work to master the pedals but it's SO worth it. Keep going - I'm here if you need help! :-)
Love all the variations Paul and your 2 hymn settings - you are so blessed with lovely long fingers which especially stand out in Variation 4 when you can use your right pinkeye finger to hold down a melody whilst giving full reign to the rest of the variations- Are you composing these as part of your studies? Well done young maestro. I look forward to the next lot.
Thank you Paul. What a beautiful way to start Saturday Feb 12th at 6:24 am. Talking you up to my internet friends. Love it, but what is the "blue bird" in the corner behind you all about?
Well done, truly Pachelbellian (is that a word?). Congrats. You clearly listened to the partitas 'Freu dich sehr' and 'Was Gott tut'. Only thing missing was some extra ornamentation while playing the piece, don't be afraid to add them, it's baroque ;)
Thank you Ralph! Haha, yup - its really similar to „Freu dich sehr“! Would you like to give it a try? I can get you the score - I dont really feel „at home“yet with the baroque ornamentation 😀
@@PaulFey Sorry, Paul. I didn't mean to devaluate your playing, since you play baroque pieces at very natural way, a joy to listen to. I shouldn't tell people how to play it, since it's nice that everyone plays in a different manner! I would like to play it, but I don't want everything for free, so I just ordered it ;)
@@PaulFey Certainly. The world doesn't need gazillionth rendition of trio sonata or Vierne's Finale. No pressure. I just wanted to know if I should keep my hopes up or to move on.
The Lord has truly blessed you with such talent. So enjoy your playing and interpretations!

It’s definitely worth it! I think making CDs with it won’t be a problem, but I‘d ask the Sampleset Producer and MDA for permission if I were you 😊
