You and I seem to have a different definition of "secret". I agree with you about the straps though! (Provided they don't interact with any sensitive chest areas, which will vary from person to person.)
I got this bib last week and am loving it! However, when I wash it and let it hang dry, it takes some time for it to be completely dry, as the chamois is so thick. How do you do it?
the bib was recommended by schaller radsport. as i understand real friends of assos. best shop in town and they even told me some history of assos. was very interesting.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels I bought a pair of them because one model comes very close to Assos. I only wear Assos but the one thing that really annoys me is their leg length, which is a tad too short which often gives me 'sausage' legs. I know the GTO has longer legs but I don't like the thick pad. So this La Passione model has almost the same straps, a flat Elastic Interface pad that's very similar to Assos, AND, decent leg length. Win.
I can't get these shorts to fit. I have tried two different models and sizes and both do the same thing. The chamois bunches and folds in the middle. This crease rubs me raw in a very personal and unpleasant spot. They seem to be sized for skinny climbers with no muscles. Assos have a great warranty. They will replace defective shorts. But I would prefer to get my money back since I cannot wear them.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels Hey Mitch I am not a fan of bibs so first I tried the MIlle GT Half Shorts XL. XL because at my local shop I couldn't get my legs through a L. Shop didn't have XL in stock so I ordered direct from Assos. Based upon my complaints and the lucky coincidence that the seam tape on the waist band delaminated Assos gave me credit for the Half Shorts so I ordered the bibs. MILLE GT Bib Shorts C2 in size L. If anything they are worse than the Half shorts. I guess I have the grand canyon of butt cracks because the Assos chamois just folds in the middle and rubs. I have many pairs of shorts in other brands and none of them behave this way.
I’m surprised to hear that… first don’t ever wear shorts… they are awful and uncomfortable as hell. Second, I’m glad you tried the bibs…. They do take some getting used to, but once you realize how much better you breathe in them, you’ll love them. No more elastic waist band cutting into you… Sort out the sizing and you should be solid. Just keep asking them to help. This is their bread and butter, I’m sure you can make something feel better than anything you’ve tried.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels Every body is different. I have used bibs since the 70's and I just don't like the straps on my upper body. Especially after I start to sweat. Assos tell me that the chamois/liner is the same for all their shorts. I think the problem is that for a man I have wide hips. Which is the reason I ride women's saddles. So my ischial tuberosities fall near the outer edge of the pads and push them together. Forms a crease. Yuck
I wish Mitch would learn to pronounce the names of the products he's reviewing. "Equip?" No, it's French and pronounced "Eh-keep." From another video, "Mille" is not pronounced "mile." It's either "Mee-lay" (Italian) or "Meel" (French). Since Assos is from Lugano in Switzerland, where they speak French, Italian and German depending upon the region, I'm not sure which is used in Lugano, but it sure isn't "Mile." But best shorts out there, no doubt. I've bought nothing else in the last decade at least.

Assos bibs also have floating chamois' which reduce friction between the bib and your body
Yup. Love it

Same thing. Just hang dry for a day or so… never machine dry them.
Excited to receive my first Assos bibs. I needed a black bib shorts. Assos seems the best looking black bibs
Stoked for you! Let me know what you think
what temperature did you machine wash at?
Did you find their online sizing accurate?
thanks
I use cold water.... and hang dry without any issues. Store sizing has been fantastic across the board.
very good insight on the shoulder straps
Thanks man :)
I'm sold, I'm getting me a pair of GTO's. Thank you for the review.
Awesome! I’m stoked for you!!
Im wondering what exactly the difference is between the GTS and GTO Chamois? is the difference huge?
The Assos site breaks down each Chamois… the difference is certainly noticeable. Better materials and more creases sewn in to add flex/comfort.
Which is the more comportable for my hip between Mille GTS and Equip S9 regarding over 100km riding?
Go GTO for long rides. Very comfortable on the hips. They are more expensive, but last forever.
LeCol are probably nice for those hot summer rides in Fish Creek!
im using the equipe rs targa bib. best piece of clothing ever.

Interesting.. La Passione currently has the same straps.. The feel very nice..
I haven’t tried those. Lol

The Equipe RS Leg length is as long at the GTO in the +3cm version. I use them all the time now :)
@@MitchOnTwoWheels Wait.. The RS S9 Targa's leg length is as long as the GTO 'Long' version? I don't think that is true.?
I have both. It’s true. The S9 Targa is longer than the Mille standard length.
Did I hear you say there is a strava code discount for Assos?
Ya they come out every few months. It’s a great way to save.
Via email?
Strava challenges. Follow them there :)
@@MitchOnTwoWheels I searched challenges and it took me to groups, is it ASSOS, the United Kingdom Club?
Ace- ows? There’s a double ‘s’ in there, shouldn’t it be Ass-oss?
I’m Canadian and not good at English 😂

Once you go Assos, you don't go back to whatever you were using before (unless you forgot to launder the Assos 😀)
So true! My biggest problem with Assos is that I don’t get to get new gear as often now 😂
@MitchOnTwoWheels I'd argue that's a positive thing. The quality of their products is such that it lasts [nearly] forever.
You nailed it!
Yep, got my first pair, and done, won't buy anything else.
@derekrader awesome feedback!

Sorry Dwight. I’ll do better.
I own Rapha Assos and Castellibut i prefer Rapha. Especially in terms of design i think assos are the worst.
That’s totally fine. Go with what works best for you. That’s what’s so great about these high end options 😃
