When this came out I was already Ghostbusters mad had loads of toys and watched the cartoon series almost daily, so I jumped over the moon when I learned that a second film was coming out. It instantly became my favourite of the two, my parents had to limit how much I watched it as they were getting sick to death of it. 😆
Peter MacNicol is a talented comedic actor. He portrayed the character of Janosz Poha very well in the Ghostbusters sequel. His accent in the film (very heavily after being possessed by Vigo the Carpathian) is a mixture of several central and eastern European regional dialects of various countries. Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania and Serbia. All rolled into one and spoken in English. He also used the accent again in "Dracula, Dead and Loving It" (1995). Comedy parody version of Bram Stoker's Dracula novel.
Lol I figured it wasn’t just one accent, but a crazy mixture which includes super awkwardese and creepish lol
I watched this movie a thousand times as a kid, and totally thought that was his real voice until Ally McBeal came out in the 90s.

He later guest stared on a tv show about ghost fighting Called Danny Phantom.

The kid at the beginning that says his dad says the Ghostbusters are full of crap is Jason Reitman, the director of Ghostbusters After Life

Hi Tara great reaction to a film I've loved since my childhood along with the first Ghost busters film, also a bit of fun information for you the kid at the birthday party who tells the guys your full of crap is Jason Reitman son of the films director Ivan Reitman his daughter Catherine Reitman is the little girl with the puppy at Egons lab, and the psychiatrist was played by Bill Murray's brother Brian Doyle-Murray.
The ghost hanging out at the Ghostbusters house is Slimer. He was added in because of his popularity in the cartoon series.
Also Harris Yulin, who played the judge, made several appearances on the hit TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
You must check out "GB Afterlife!"
There's added weight to it knowing that Harold Ramis has since passed away and Ramis and Murray having reconciled right before he passed after not speaking for decades.
Me and my sister walked 2 hours in the blazing heat to see this when it came out. Obviously the first is a tough act to follow, but as a die hard fan I have a special place in my heart for GB2.
If you like the lore of ghostbusters you should check out the cartoon “The real Ghostbusters” incredibly well written… spooky… fun…. Still holds up even after all these years.

Tara, if GHOSTS really freak you out, try the movie "The Others " with Nicole Kidman! The absolute best film about ghosts out there! Not kidding you will love it!
Good choice. Saw that one in the theater with my mom. I don't think she liked it, or 'got it' or whatever, but I did. Creeped me out, that she was familiar with, and interested in those traditional photo albums of the dead.

Peter McCool is really great in The Dragon Slayer, and Bean The Movie.
Ghostbusters Afterlife is next with mid and post credit scenes. Also, a sequel of Afterlife is scheduled for 2023.

Ever notice how this movie starts with the words "Five Years Later." And it did in fact come out five years after the first movie?
In between Ghostbusters 1 and 2 a cartoon was adapted and Slimer was written in to be a good ghost. So they released him and let him hang out in 2.

I've often wondered about the accent too. After conducting some research, I found that Janosz is a Hungarian name, so presumably it's a Hungarian accent, or at least Peter MacNicol's best imitation of one.
Fun fact Tara one of the kids at the birthday party that the two of the Ghostbusters where at is the director of the movie and he ended up directing the third movie that came out in 2021.

I don’t know know if you are planning on checking out “Ghostbusters AfterLife” or not but if you are I think you will enjoy it. What I will say about it is that it does center largely on a new set of characters but also features a cameo of the original Ghostbusters. There is an all Women Ghostbusters movie from 2016, if I’m not mistaken about the year, that most viewers and critics felt failed to be as good as the original and generally would say to avoid and or not review. Glad you checked out Ghostbusters 2 as it generally considered be a good follow up all in all to the original. Continue to enjoy your channel and reactions.

28:53 That movie actually exists. "Cannibal Girls" (1973) starring Eugene Levy & Andrea Martin. It was directed by Ivan Reitman, who directed and produced Ghostbusters 1, 2 & Afterlife.
I was wondering if that was a real film. I figured it must be, since it had real SCTV alumni in the cast.
Afterlife was directed by Jason Reitman, Ivan was executive producer.

I want to say the term "deadheads" comes from the movie Evil Dead which also uses the term "Groovy" in the series
I assumed it was referring to the name that fans of the Grateful Dead were pretty commonly known as in the 70s...

If you haven’t seen it, I think you’d really enjoy My Girl (1991) and Can’t Hardly Wait (1998). Really good comedy dramas that won’t require heavy editing for content. One is about an 11 year old girl in the 70s (her boyfriend is Macaulay Culkin) and the other is a much cleaner but still very 90s and underrated version of Superbad. Those movies never get any love in reaction videos. You’re a terrific reactor.
While I prefer the original, I still have a special place in my heart for this sequel. I have fond memories of seeing this in theaters on my 13th birthday.

Great reaction. The thing with this movie is, it copies too much of the first one. The producers also had to make it more family friendly to gain a bigger audience, which backfired 😅.
The actor who played the psychic who said in the world was happening on new year's Eve play the Dead in the first three transformer movies
So much fun stuff in this sequel. It's not quite as good as the original (just personal opinion), but it's a hell of a lot of fun still. Looking forward to seeing your take on this. :)
