Penance - Good but prone to an easy death against elite mobs Penance w/ Blemishine - Monster Penance w/ Module - MONSTER Penance w/ Blemishine + Module - Monstrosity
It's the combination of extra barrier, hp, and damage reduction. The numbers look small alone, but they all multiply together. Like Blaze's module. Looks small with +8aspd +10% atk etc. But in the end she gets a +40% DPS increase.
I mean u can see the gladiia module DMG reduction 30% to all abbysal hunter already tanky as hell with medic 15% already good well not like enemy mob DMG reduction 90% already beyond tank
Yep, I snatched up Penance's and Mudrock's modules near immediately as anyone could blatantly see the benefits of both. Penance's, as you said in the video, just compounds what already made her great to begin with and doubles down to make her something even more special.
Thanks for the showcase! I’m wondering though, how much of the initial bulk is from the barriers compared to just Mod1? I see most of your comparisons are no mod vs mod 3, but when I did some calculations for myself (with different ATK values, granted), I recall seeing that Mod1 helps way more than the upgrades for surviving, so I’m wondering if you can give a second opinion on saving some blocks since you’ve got practical experience.
Legit question. In fact staying at LV1 does make her initial Barrier effectively 21.44% more(against blocked enemy ofc), but that is rather small compared to 70.77% at LV3. This is because while LV1 gives you the durability upgrade, its benefit only goes higher if you pair it with extra amount of Barrier. (Also the more ranged attacks are involved the more significant the upgrades are) But I think it is fine if you want to stay at LV1 to save blocks, since the scenarios I demonstrated in the showcase are probably amongst the most extreme ones.
Keep in mind that Penance won't be always blocking enemies so module base effect won't trigger also Mod3 gives her +250 ATK and makes her able to reach beyond 2500(+133) Arts reflect while using S3
@@DragonGJYPerfect, thanks for your insight! Especially since the spots you showed seemed like Penance would’ve survived even without the initial barrier, so that’s great to hear.
It's also worth considering that the damage reduction continues to work on her initial 100% hp, which is a large factor if the goal is to survive exactly 20 hits (from which point onwards the barrier may be self sustaining). Actually having the barrier itself active initially is not too big of a deal.
I can't believe juggernauts got the module before Lords., they must really be cooking on those. I'm going to be a little more conservative with my module building now, this one seems perfect for how I use Penance.
it really adds up. 15% less damage taken. shield gains go from 10% to 12% (+20%). Base hp increases by some 6.6%. everything combined, her shield becomes 47% tankier in the long run, without even including the stronger initial shield and the 33 extra def from her module.
I had similar situation one too many times where penance barrier got destroyed before her first s3 activation. This module help her during her most vunerable times. But s2 only benefited from mod lv1. Great video btw.
hmm, i almost wonder if it's worth waiting to see what the other juggernaut branch is and how much her arts reflect talent gets buffed... and then there's also delta modules but i imagine those will take forever to come out. 4.5 didn't even have any.
tbf we've long dispelled the illusion that modules were intended for balance since lingering echoes. other than the occasional surge in usefulness for a weaker op, it's now just a system to buff the ops people care about most, i.e., the strongest ones. c'est la vie.
I don't see a major issue. Look at Mostima she is VERY usable now, thanks to her mod. Sometimes they miss, but it's an alright way to add power or fix some things. I just wish they gave us more blocks but that's a whole other thing.
@@twistofdeath Mostime is literally ONE of the very few "mid" characters that actually got a good module. It's not "Sometimes", but "Most of the time" what are you talking about 💀
The gap between lvl 1 and lvl 3 is simply way too big to say that only lvl 1 is worth. Lvl 1 is also quite conditional compared to always benefiting on higher lvl module from shield regen.
That was my issue with Penance, She's way too squishy during deployment. Always saw people losing their shit with Penance saying how broken she was, but when she finally came out in global, I just found her super squishy, and Mudrock was way better 99% of the time. Glad they finally improved her... Too bad Mudrock also got a Module that makes her even more broken XD!
Not like she really needed it but that's a great module for her, covering greatly for the shortcomings of freshly deploying her with s3.

Literally droping a roadblock on enemies with her new pre skill barrier
