Stunning, simply stunning. The words, images, sounds etc layer beautifully. I'm not a Christian but I would love have a proper conversation with Peter Owen Jones on the subject of nature and god.

If one cannot see and experience the many gifts and blessings 'God' has given us in nature, how then are we to see and experience 'God's' presence in our fellow human beings?

Great post, he has a gift uncomplicated by religious dogma. Kingley Vale is a magical place.

'uncomplicated by religious dogma' --- yeah, it's awful when you have to actually think about your faith! We should just make it all up as we feel!

Hearing the arco of a double bass while surrounded by ancient Yew trees is wonderous.

POJ is definitely the Hip Priest. And so is ME Smith, in some way. Great post, Mr Doremouse. Has anyone heard Marcus Brigstocke on Premiere radio's "Unbelievable"? Another thought for the day: POJ v Professor Dickie Dawkins!

He has obviously so carefully cultivated his image, to the extent that this overshadows what he has to say.

As you know, Peter Owen Jones is in fact Rev'd Peter Owen Jones, an ordained clergy person in the Church of England. The 'coat' he is wearing in this video is actually a cassock-part of the apparel of the ordained clergy. They can be obtained from any clerical outfitters but are usually reserved for the clergy when conducting services in Church. Why he chose to wear one for this episode I can't imagine!

Of course one can imagine. Quite evident.

I don't think this is Tom Baker - it's Jon Culshaw from Dead Ringers.

    ''Drink the long draught, Dan,
    For the Hip Priest,
I said drink the long draught Dan,
    For the Hip Priest,
    White collar hits motorway services,
    It's the Hip Priest,
From the eyes he can see, they know,
    It's the Hip Priest.''

I think between them they'd agree to spell God L-O-V-E, with a lot of praise for evolution!

That coat is a clerical Cassock, normally only worn when on Church business.....

Earth - God - Goddess - its all the same, just a different perspective. I believe God (The energy) is the unity of all life and conciousness (The earth and just about everything on it is alive). I find it hard to worship something that I feel is a part of me, hence why I can't give it a gender. But again, it's perspective, and I was only suggesting that it doesn't matter what you call it. :) We shouldn't be so stiff and uniform, hope I didn't stroke you the wrong way. Peace and Love.

I like Owen Jones but can’t help feeling, he’s sometimes looking in the wrong places. It’s a beautiful place is Kingley Vale but dark too.
It’s too easy to become a cop out pagan at times.

  • @MQ777
    @MQ777 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You think the creator of all life has a gender? HA. Tottally irrelevant - you can call the divine power whatever you want, the connection is between you and the maker, not you the maker and your priest/priestess.
