G'day S2G, a terrific overview of your Perth Mint Koala coin series collection, regardless of the lacklustre design of the 2024 coin its a must have for your collection, I'm not a huge fan of the Koala series compared to the Kookaburra series, in fact I only have the 2023 coin because I find the design appealing, interesting comparison between the 3 Koala coins, I feel the RAM Koala is superior & a more realistic representation of this unique Australian marsupial, unfortunately RAM products are often overshadowed by the Perth Mint, thanks for sharing a great review of the 3 Koala coins. PL gonna have to watch out!… 😂😂 IMO PM should cease the Koala series and concentrate on the newer Wombats/Quokkas instead. Now that RAM has the Koala, no point two Mints fighting it out over this. PM should let RAM takeover the series. Might benefit both Mints in the long term… …its just a thought 🤔😂✌🏻
I love the Koala,I was lucky to see one in the wild during my stay in Australia, so they’re close to my heart 🎉. Btw, I like the 2022 because it looks like my cat chilling out on the shelf that I made for him 🪚🔨😍. Thanks s2g 👌.

Thats awesome Gordy, kooks are definitely the way to go when collecting semi-numis coins. Backdating kookaburras can be quite the challenge especially coins dated 2004 and 2008. Koala coins are less popular so more easily found. The hardest to find at reasonable premiums are the first 3-4coins so grab them if you see deals on them. The PM Anniversary coin doesn’t make much sense as a standalone coin, especially if one is just collecting series from PM. I got the 2023 Kangaroo sliver 1oz from the RAM in that exact reverse proof finish with the memorial obverse, and it’s so beautiful that one.
