    What do you think of the Proform combo bike/elliptical? It doesn't have its own screen but I can connect to a tablet. I got it from costco a few years ago. Honestly haven't used it much. I'm supposed to be able to connect with IFIT. The bike is recumbent. I'm trying to decide to stay with it or get the Echelon 4s at costco on sale $799

    I bought the Proform bike after viewing this review along with some other clips. After a few rides, I soon realised this annoying iFit low resistance bug - a lot of the workout has a resistance of 1-3 which is a joke, or max 7 resistance for the most intensive workout. I am fairly confident this was a iFit program issue where the resistance has not been calibrated properly for this bike as the bike’s max resistance is 16. I am gutted that I did not see those discussions before my purchase and have not seen any TH-cam video highlighting such an annoying bug which greatly reduce the usability of this bike. Although in theory this can be addressed by a software update fairly easily, there have been several months since people reported this issue to iFit and proform. So my hope for a quick fix is not high. Again, this is really annoying and disappointing for an otherwise excellent bike.

    Hey I’ve really been enjoying watching these videos. I am primarily eyeing the proform cx bike and the proform studio bike. I slightly more then the Tour de France, but appears to be a lot better. I think a lot of people are in the same boat with me as well. You certainly have bought enough bikes, but I’d love to see a review of either one of those. I also think it’d be a very popular video! I’m glad to see your channel having success!

      @TailHappyTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man, I feel like enough people have asked about the cx and studio for me to get them sometime soon. I did get the nordictrack s22i and compared it to the peloton, nordictrack is the same parent company as proform and the s22i is the flagship bike. Thanks again, will consider these proform bikes.

      @@TailHappyTV yup! I’m an Alpinist and primarily do my training on Nordictrack’s incline trainer. I’d love the S22I but I wouldn’t use it enough to justify the cost. I use the incline trainer daily, and only use my bike once a week on my recovery day. That’s the reason I’m interested in the CX over the S22I. I also pay for Ifit already so that is another reason I’m only interested in the nordictrack/proform/freemotion gear. Thanks again brother!

    Great video.....I have a Bike+ on order for delivery in a few weeks but since I already have Fitness+, Apple Watch/TV, the idea of $39/month is not exciting. I saw these two bikes at costco so the question on my mind, what is the highest quality bike for $2500 or less assuming I don’t want to use a monthly service of more than let’s say Fitness+ which will likely be sufficient. I do like high quality but not sure it is worth it to get the Bike+ to use with Fitness+ in a year if I don’t pay for the $39 monthly fee. So the question is what are the best spin bikes from $500 to $2500 for Fitness Plus or flexible to use with other apps like swift, peloton app, etc?

      @@TailHappyTV yes but I also need the bike for clients in my studio so I need it to be an actual stationary bike like those in gyms. Outside of buying a commercial $5K stationary bike, I’m just looking for one with decent resistance that has a freewheel. The Schwinn 170 has one but the resistance is hilariously weak. Problem is companies don’t put it in the specifications section on their website so I’m browsing TH-cam for reviews and general videos to see if it has it while people ride them. @@mattmatzner8749 thanks man, miss it out there in the mountains, want to go back soon. I started looking for flywheel spin hokes after you asked, I dont see anything coming up really. I did test the 170 at a sporting good store and now that you mention it I do recall it had a freewheel, but it is not a normal spin bike in many ways, up right, and just generally doesn't offer a real spin expereience.

    • @mattmatzner8749
      @mattmatzner8749 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TailHappyTV Thanks for looking around a bit, and yeah the 170 Schwinn really just doesn't have tough gearing whatsoever even though it's an upright bike that should offer it. As an exercise physiologist it's odd that they'd make a bike that won't even get ones heart rate up much at all. As far as spinning goes, I'm not really looking for a "spin" experience so much as I want something that I can have people do intervals on while also offering safety, which spin bikes don't when you truly put >95% maximum effort into fr 15-20 seconds as the flywheel going too fast for people and it has a decently high probability of causing injury to novice to moderate exercisers. I'm thinking I'm going to go with both a rogue echo fan bike since the fan slows down immediately by its nature even thought the flywheel is fixed with the crank and I'm going to buy a precor upright bike as those are rocksolid upright bikes with a freewheel flywheel with amazing gearing and are durable as all hell. Btw, did you see peloton just bought precor?
