What any reasonable Singaporeans are concerned isn't the hot-mic incident but the way in which follow up actions had taken place, i.e. the double standards practiced by Indranee and the ruling party toward Speaker of the Parliament and Opposition.

In 1995, Ling How Doong was formally censured by the Parliament for his milder language. So for a Speaker of the House to have uttered an expletive, nothing less than a formal censure should be meted out. Don't you agree Indranee?

I agree! It does not augur well for Singapore as a whole. When there is too much negativity we will only slide further. Hopefully, both sides - the ruling party and the opposition - will be more disciplined and work more closely together for the betterment of Singapore.

Is it not possible for the police to investigate or look into the 'total circumstances' to establish if any offence/s has/have been committed? In other words, the 'overall circumstances' of the video release and the publicising of the affair might suggest something more to the events' close timing, which Mr Singh is wondering should be investigated.
Why make a mountain out of a molehill? Close the case and move on. There are more pressing issues on hand. The livelihood of the people is in predicament. Don’t waste taxpayers’ money. Let’s find ways to alleviate financial hardship of the people.

It is disheartening to hear how the house speaker is just avoiding the opposition point which essentially is an integrity issue of a senior minister and MP.
These recent drama from both PAP and Worker’s party is big setback for SG govt. Given current global situation, distracting ourselves so much into such personal misconduct will not help SG one bit but stalls our focus on tackling the global climate changes that we will face (food, climate, political divide, economic, social, health).
As such I am not really impressed by opposition taking such “golden opportunity” to gun down the other party. We are a tiny country and loss in reputation due to internal squabbles is just going to bring down our global reputation and destabilise SG. Integrity should be viewed on a higher level where it is certainly of more value than focusing on lapse of individual integrity.
Hmm... if the situation is reversed. What will PAP do? Maybe should look back on how PAP treated the oppositions.
