  • Tracy Moore and beauty expert Tracy Peart discuss what they think about splitting 50/50 financials in relationships. “I think if one person is making significantly much more than the other, I don’t know if I believe in 50/50.”

If you're paying my bills I'm cooking your meals. If I'm going 50/50 then you're going cooking with me.

If you have a partner that is telling you what you can and can't have, thats a red flag. One pot, obviously responsibilities need to be met but I don't get told what I can buy and vis-versa. We have had the discussion "if it all goes south we split 50/50" After 25 years+ we grew it together one making more at times then the other, but we built it together.

My only comment is to get a qualified person to discuss this.

Splitting finances in a relationship is easy. Obviously the one that earns more, will carry more responsibility towards the finances. Then to decide who pays what, who saves what amount and how much each contribute to spending money.

I actually think Union is not comfortable/safe un her relationship and thats why she wants to make sure she has her basis covered. She is basically saying she already counting her things for the divorce. Should you go 50/50. No. Its nonsense. You should put in what you can afford and then have joint goals. Just offering assistance is more then enough if your open about your worth.

Until actual life is 50/50 - ie the End of Patriarchy - there’s no “going Dutch”.
    F*ck that noise.
Women often spend as much getting ready for the date as the date costs - waxing, dry cleaning, a cab because you definitely get harassed on public transit when you dress up, the money spent on hair, nails, makeup…
    Waxing alone is $100+…
