@@andykerr3803 been building engines for racing for 30+ years, owned q mercury dealership. Want to win, need a well designed engine, in small engine world that was the champion hotrod, parts are non existent. People went to Rice burners to keep racing. As for mercury, find a 20H with a toilet bowl tower housing
@@independentthinker8930 When you have a good machinist.... I think the actual dealers destroyed their clients. Not Mercury, but OMC, especially under Bombardier. Even in the late 50's they were playing games... Changing specs by a millimeter to create more inventory. Dealing with the BS is part of the art. Cheers 🍻
@@independentthinker8930 That motor!!! I had a funny feeling it was that. I only saw one so long ago. I did have a bunch of 9.5 Evinrude and Johnsons, also called toilet bowls. Nearly 20 cubic inches. Fun to soup up. Yes, that 20 H was very special. Those things would pass at speed and your guts would vibrate. Strong wave coming out of that manifold. Cheers 🍻
Wish they hadn't abandoned us small outboard racers
They made small designated race engines for quite a while... I'm sure you'll find them still with parts.
