Good review. Some people get it and some don't. Those that don't love to comment "why didn't you get a Miata". The people who buy these well know the difference and could have bought a Miata if they wanted one. It's their money. I for one have owned both and there is no comparison. If it's your daily driver and you are considering between the two, the Miata is better daily transportation. Otherwise, the SS is a blast to drive, fun factor off the charts, quicker to 60 and 1/4 mile stock over the Miata and more like the experience of riding a motorcycle. I moved over to the Slingshot R after riding motorcycles for over 40 years. No regrets.

An unpopular opinion, no doubt, but; I can’t help but wonder what could be achieved with an EV version of this concept. I can’t see myself doing roadtrips with it, so range isn’t an issue, the batteries could be placed really low to achieve the perfect weight distribution, not to mention the power. Obviously there’s the noise, but to be honest, this sounds a bit asthmatic to me.
I guess if you just want the power for 7k less you can just get the SLR version, but no top.
I've driven Slingshots a few times and love them. The Roush Edition is a great option, but the paint scheme is horrid and there's no other option. I'd have to repaint it. As for the audio, the exhaust note is all the music I need.

man don't mean to disrespect you but already RZR Pro XP Ultimate 64” is too much to handle 185hp , with this one is gonna be even greater challenge to drive it on road above 60 miles , i love it but it is too much power , i have already atv with 40 hp and it is scary to drive it on road and off road, well the good thing is you can quit smoking when you drive this one lol
I'm struggling to understand why anyone would buy this for 38K... There are so many better vehicles you can buy for that price. You could get multiple vehicles for that amount of money. Daily for 20K, project car for 18K the combinations are endless
Agreed. Add in that you can get top tier sport bikes for 10k+ less and have an (IMO) much better totally open air motoring experience, it makes these things look like horrible deals. I’ll take a Panigale over this thing any day.
The biggest advantage is not needing a MC license to ride it, except for Massachusetts.

All it needs (if your state permits) is the dual-wheel conversion for the rear.

And what exactly is this misunderstanding that can only be operated in sunny, dry weather that costs $38K+...?
1. Maybe the engine sounds like a symphony of pleasure - no.
2. Maybe a bomb audio system - no.
3. Can the seats have heating and ventilation - no.
4. The dashboard has been smoothing since the 1980s - yes! You can find better ones on electric scooters - yes!
5. All garbage from the road, stones/broken glass from under the wheels of cars traveling in parallel lanes, exhaust from diesel pickups. And imagine that you are overtaking a truck going uphill? All this flies in your face and settles in your lungs.
6. Safety guarantee in the event of an accident - big, very big doubts...
Conclusions: personally, I don't see anything here for which I am ready to pay - $8,000!

Just get a Miata...no? same or cheaper price, 1 more wheel and tire, you get doors, and a trunk, similar ride, seems like a no brainer to me.

Man this piece of kit really does not look appealing for the prices they are asking. Just seems so... janky. Like a 2002 garage built kit car.
Miata is such a better value or just get a SxS for offroading. Alternatively, don't kid yourself that this 3-wheel gives any protection and just get a motorcycle. So many other better options.
