Thank you for clearing this up a little more Stu . I have a mental health problem ,which I have had for many years. I survive on what I have. As soon as I heard about this new stab in the back from this government it really frightened me, as at the moment I have a problem even leaving my house right now. let alone going to a meeting and explain myself yet again to unqualified "advisors".

It's podcasts like this that help so many, i have been worried sick over these new measures being on ESA and to hear they should not be targeting the Support group it does help me somewhat. I have fought so dam hard to get PIP and to prove my illness is genuine and these new measures are going to cause many to break and even lead to more suicides. We can ALL hope that a May election is called and that we finally see a new government and the end of U.C. and with luck a better and fairer system for all involved
What amazes me is that we have to jump through hoops and are distrusted in our request for help. I don't understand it at all. As if anyone anywhere would CHOOSE to live like this, to be unwell and exhausted, to be isolated, not to live vibrantly, as if anyone would choose this!! How arrogant people who are in government and the general public supporting this vilification of the ill are. They should for one second, just one second imagine the lives we lead and see how they'd like it. But one day it may well come to them too.
I would further add that its UNFAIR hoops given that the system is biased TOWARDS to government. At my age there is no way a employer would want to employ me with all the time I had off the last place I worked with Mental Health at three or six months at a time. Eventually 12 months before they had to follow the rules. They did try all the tricks in the book to get rid of me earlier but I was a member of a union and did exactly as they advised m,e to do. A lot of places are only employing folks younger than 21 now with a few who are over the age of 30 because they can pay the under 18 rate of minimum wage. A lot of small companies make out they cannot afford pay minimum wage but when you see the big houses, cars and learning about all the holiday abroad every year you realise they can afford to pay far more than minimum wage. I fell out with a lot of employers who run small companies when they say the secret to big profits and getting rich is paying as little as you can get away with. Or exploiting the workers just like JD Sperts and Amazon distribution centre do.

If you're on UC you should have had an entry in your journal, and if it was ESA you should have had a letter. If you can't find either give them a call to find out is the next best way. Alternatively you can look at the amount you get and compare that with the current rates and you can tell which group you are in from that sometimes. Thanks for the kind comments and your continued support Steve, hope you are keeping well.
If you need to appeal it is best to appeal in face, not by writing as I have appealed against my PIP the last two times in writing as I did not feel well enough to go face to face. This time if I am not moved back into the high rate, I will have to appeal face to face. I feel completely out of my depth and my wife will be with me this time to speak on my behalf if possible, I need the emotional support. Thank you for sharing.
I had to do all that as well mate. Lucky for me I am with Aspire Social Housing in Newcastle Under Lyme and they have money advisers who made all the phone calls and did all the paperwork for me. They even wrote a good letter on my behalf at the last court appeal in 2018. Even the money advisers are fed up of the Tory government. One of them told me he never had so many people asking g for help before 2010 with money. It was just minor things like bills. Then after 2011, there was a sudden increase and it got even worse. Some people who do not live in social housing and in private accommodation tell me they have to use citizan advice services and take a lot of time. My first court appeal I waiting five months and I had a money adviser with me due to learning difficulties. I am now 51. The second time was a 14 month wait and my dad went with me. It all makes you feel anxious. I won both. The last payout was a lot just over £7500 that's how much to Torys had robbed from me over 14 months. Hopefully next year 2024 mate after may we will have a Labour Government. It will take some time for them to undo a lot of the damage and crap inflicted on us all.
it makes sense why people get terrified whenever the govt. even announces changes that won't happen for years, it's because you feel like your very existence is nothing but a nuisance and that the govt. doesn't want you to be here. even if it's something that might not happen for a while (hopefully we can vote them out before it happens) it is an immediate threat to our only source of income that gives us some semblance of independence, and even then we still don't necessarily feel a part of society because of how often we are demonised in the media and by politicans as not doing enough or being lazy. there's very few places where i feel welcomed or a part of something, not because of anything i've done wrong, but the manufactured guilt and shame i feel for just being disabled and not being well enough to work
Hi Stu, Thank you so much for putting out all the very good informative videos. I just wanted to let you know that when I moved address last year and I had to claim Universal Credit, I got informed by CAB that receiving the Transitional Protection would mean I would not be worse off, however, unfortunitely it mean't I was worse off.
You do not need to apologise, your intention is always to offer support. Your page has been a great support to us all and so has the community, Its good to know that currently those in the support group are not in line for a chop. Though I would say, if you are an older person with no computer skills, perhaps take some time to learn a few basic computer skills just in case anything ever happens, I think the job centre and other drop in centres offer basic IT skills. And you need to know a few basic computer skills just to navigate the benefits system.
Hello Stu I had to stop work due to a work related injury , I was turned down on my first WCA , I then reapplied for a mandatory reconsideration , it was again denied , I then appealed , after several months I received a phone call out of the blue from DWP to notify that my case was re assessed, my case was finally successful ,the appeal never got to court . I truly believe that those who are generally vulnerable & ill and are deeply concerned is just to keep battling on with the appeal & never lose hope , it's the hope ,clarity & positivity that kept me going .
I was looking forward to hearing you speaking ESA I used to be on incapacity benefits which started based on my back in early 90s so I was looking forward to more information on what's going to happen to me I suffer with severe depression and have done for 30 years anxiety and I had DVT. Excuse some of my grammar, I have to use voice text.
Thanks for all of your help and support I am 52 years old and my friend network are all affected,i do pray we don't start loosing people again due to the horrendous actions of certain decision makers.
Thanks for this , yes your right in the sense that these loop holes are quite evident from around 2010 when the new system was introduced to counter the financial crisis . " Loop holes " is a healthy way of looking at it, although it could be put in a completely different way "down right criminal " would be one . I mean, there are new rules for individuals starting businesses that need govenemt benefits to become realised, which have made small businesses impossible to start i.e no housing benefit etc etc . Once the benefit cap had reached full swing in about 2012/13 the system would literally jump disabled and incapable people , in ways that are nothing other than " a smiling face😊 for a statistic " be it a statistic at the morg , work placement training program camp , hospital or down the good old job centre .
I understand their are people abusing the system and to be honest it angers me because it takes it away from people that need it I myself need it but can't get it since losing my mother 3 years ago now And my son is a genuine case as he has had Autism and mental health his whole life and they did go to stop his money my son threatened to kill himself over this I did take it further as I had proof from doctors councillors and clinics he had attended since he was 4 years old To be honest if they are wanting to get people into work especially with disabilities they need to have plans in place that will support those people to get a job and so that it supports their needs in the work place People have different needs and some work places may not support their needs to be in a successful work placement
I emailed my local mp who is a mp for the Tories explaining to him in detail why I would be unable to work. Apart from having awful health problems I also look after my elderly mum who has dementia.
I get PIP enhanced for bkth daily living and mobility, im also in the LCWRA element group on universal credit i dont know where i stand with these changes im very worried if someone can clarify this for me? I suffer with severe anxiety, PTSD, Epilepsy and Asperger's/ASD. Does this mean i wont be reassessed anymore on uc for my LCWRA element?
if some one is disabled and cant work and have a carer , if the have to go to work, 1 does the carer go with them, the employer wont allow it secondly you have to be caring for someone 35 hours or more to claim carers allowance , then because if they are at work 8 hours a day then that will not meet the criteria to claim it
Stu, I have the highest respect for you as an adviser, but disabled people, and disability charities did not agree to this approach nor did they agree to what's being proposed. I very nearly lost my life, because of the Tories, and I won't go through that again. I'm not sitting back, and taking this from them.
I have mental health issues Severe enough to have been hospitalised The problem with returning to work is who the hell is even going to give me a job? Medicated to the eyeballs or batshit nuts I just don't see employment doors opening for me Thanks for your explanations stu I can always return to your vids for clarity
Hi stu 6 months ago out the blue job center rang me. (5times)Then demanded I come in for a interview. I had to reapplying for ESA again. Even when I was going through the process for the next level of ESA, the job center kept harassing me. asking had I heard anything back and at one point accuse me of not even applying at all for the next level of ESA. Because she could not see it on her system at the jobcentre. So I told her if she was that bothered, what are you ring ESA instead? You'd probably get through quicker than what I would. But I've got a review for pip next summer I believe some slightly concerned about that. It's the whole process that's just so draining and without the help of citizens advice I don't know where I would be Well I do. It's just so tiring having to keep going through these processes. You would think because I've already been assessed and moved into the higher group of ESA but then pip wouldn't need to bother to interview me or whatever but they'd have to come to my house anyway due to my mental issues. thanks Stu full breaking all this down. Watching I might get complicated on purpose
What I don't understand Is why does our government abuse the kindness of our nations People. who volunteer for nothing to help someone like me out. Or donate food? Sometimes I wish people weren't so helpful because then the government wouldn't abuse them to do the jobs they should be doing.
@@injusticemattersuk4744 I had to do that last time. after being interviewed at home which was supposed to be a medical check. But thanks for the support.
I am classed as self employed but not making a profit, moved from tax credits onto UC. Still undecided if I am going to bother but in spite of 2 calls to the helpline I am none the wiser as to certain questions raised. As a carer of my wife who is on standard mobility award on pip, do I still have to look for work ie online because I know I have to supposedly report income etc monthly to some work coach and I cannot see them just continuing to give us UC while I continue to make a loss. But on saying that carer responsibilities are more or less FT and my wife is also worried she may have to go into some group where they try to let her know any possible work she may be able to do in spite of her illness. I know they also take the carer's element away pound of pound and then give you less money with their own carer's element. So I basically wanted to know would they leave us alone on pip and UC even though I am down as self employed? Thanks.
How sad is it Stu that you have to mention the Samaritans at the end of your talk. The government dont care how many of us they drive over the edge. We are not work shy, what i cant understand is why do they keep saying the sick need to work, but we're sick for goodness sake if we were well we would work wouldn't we🤔
Hello I don't if anyone can answer this but it's about the transition payment on universal credit and what's happening regarding people losing money going on to universal credit
@@StuartMcGoo Hello Stu it was regarding a news item on rightsnet last Friday. The government/DWP have been attacked by peers for taking over two years to address the inbalace for some disabled people moving on to universal credit. If I read the report correctly the DWP have been told to firstly to correct the inbalace and maybe address people like me who lost over £180 monthly since 2021. Regards John
Hello, I understand that LHA rates are going up to the 30th percentile but I'm still unclear on what this means in terms of percentage increase. Do you think you could offer some clarification perhaps with an example on the average estimated percentage increase in Lha?
I believe the estimate is around £67 a month of extra money in housing support, on average. LHA is to be frozen again in future years to allow the increase to be eaten up by inflation.
Isn't this all prevalent on the Conservatives taking the next GE? It might be an idea to reach out to Liz Kendall (Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions) and ascertain the intentions of the Labour Party with regards to these changes.
Rachel Reeves Shadow Chancellor talking in similar tones and language to Margaret Thatcher has said the Next [New] Labour Government will continue to be as tough on welfare as the Tories.
I had my incapacity benefits deleted over ten years ago afrer being called a terrorist by the dwp, i won my tribunial and they were told to put my benefits back, however they then changed the judges conclusions and deleted my entire claim after sending me to a fake job center to be profiled. If 50% of claims fail with only 1 to 2 % being found to be fraudulent, its no suprise rhe fear ppl feel, its a real fear based on a real threat.
This is my fear ,, im due a review , im in the support group and have been for 25 years , however i was robbed of this in 2012 , i think most people were given 0 points , i then had to go to court and prove my illness , that was too much stress , but i was younger , later in 2017 i was placed in the work group and it just didnt work and they put me back in the support group , thats the only positive ive had , since then im in the high group of PIP and im in the support group. However i DO NOT trust any government and my ultimate fear is them putting me in the work group , me not being able to do it and then losing my benefits. Ive been saying this for some time , but i think this new "system" will be the death of me , its just far too much stress , life is not worth it as it is ,, i am trying to find a plan of exit , my fear is not finding the right one ,, however i will ultimately end everything , and sooner than i imagined.
Dear Steve, they're is nothing worth ending your life over especially benefits.once you are gone that's it no changing your mind.As Stu says these changes might never happen the labour government could get in power and scrap the proposals.I will pray for you if you don't mind. 🙏I worry myself too, but now I say don't trouble trouble til trouble troubles you.😊
I totally understand why you have so much anxiety caused by the system but please listen to Stu. Nothings going to be sprung on us without a good bit of warning and you never know, there could be alot of changes for the better. I have severe depression and anxiety and a few years ago I got a tattoo on my inner forearm reminding me to hang on when times are tough. Please try to remember that. Don't let the bureaucrats destroy you. You're a good person. Keep your light shining bright 🌟
Thank you both ❤️ , I think since covid I've just become so tired of life , I've been suffering for over 20 years but I had my mom and dad , however I lost my mom in 2019 and my dad during covid in 2020 , they were both huge parts in my life and helping with my mental health , the world has changed since covid and I'm getting tired of how the country is run , and now it feels like people with disabilities or mental health problems are being made scapegoats for votes and it scares me , ive seen too much corruption to trust them doing the right thing. I will try to carry on but life is becoming too much.
@@steve10 I have no family near me, they moved to the other end of the country and I've no friends. They tend to drift away when you're living with chronic illnesses. It's not through ill will, it's simply that life goes on and you get left behind. I'm very isolated and I totally understand how lost you must feel. I've seen alot of vitriol in comments from people on mainstream media in reaction to benefit cuts to the disabled and in all honesty I think it suits the government to make a scapegoat for all of life's woes. Yes, there are people who cheat the benefit system but the majority of us are sincere. I for one wouldn't wish my problems on anyone. People should be very careful about what they say because you never know when something major happens in their lives and they suddenly need help. Keep your head held high, I'm sure your mum and dad are watching out for you xx
Breathe a sigh of relief,by the time the assessment is done you'll be almost on your pension. No more Esa or UC then.Just a 4 week wait for first pension payment, put a bit by if you can for this.
Hi people I applied for pip in june/july had my assessment in august completely messed it up got 4 points i appealed i 4 points again now im nearly close to the date of the letter for tribunal couple of days. How long do i have to wait untill i can try claiming pip again because i dont want the tribunal. Any advice would be highly appreciated thank you
Go to the tribunal. I was given 0 points and practically crawled into the tribunal. I got enhanced on bothe ot wa DLA The man from DWp actually apologised and gave me a hug . It was bad but I had no other choice and Im glad I did those were dark days. So please fight it is your right
You can't reapply for PIP unless there has been a significant change in your condition and how it affects you. You need to go to the tribunal. Have heart though, over 64% of appeals are successful.
Cannot advise you but can tell you this, i had the same result on application, same result on manditory reconsideration and same at appeal, I went to tribunal with 27 pages of medical reports, DWP representative said they were not admissable, the Judge said "I think I will be the judge on that 1", he looked through the reports and passed them to the doctor on the tribunal, he then asked the DWP guy if he "was dishonest or just stupid, or did he take the tribunal to be fools?". He then continued "to make 1 mistake may be acceptable, however on the 27 pages of reports you asked to be disregarded because you have never seen them there is the date stamp from DWP office and a hand written note saying original retained copy returned to client, so I repeat are you dishonest, stupid or regsrd us as fools?". I was awarded highest level for care and mobility and had 18 months back pay within a week.
I've recently just been told by the DWP that I'm limited to work because I've got spondalitus a back condition which is making me virtually housebound they've just messaged me asking me to send in 4 months of bank statements as part of done kind of review does anybody know if I have to do this because I don't know how to do it they want it done by pdf and it doesn't make any sense to me why do they want to see what they pay me when they already know what there paying me or were I'm doing my shopping does anybody know what this is about and explain it to me please ?
It sound like maybe you were on contributions based and now you are moving to means tested. You will have to do as they ask but I suggest finding some professional support. Contact your local Citizens advice or disability advocacy service.
@@StuartMcGoo thank you for your advice and quick response, I'm not sure what I was on I went onto universal credit December 2021 but over the last 6 months my backs got worse were im struggling to get to the job centre so they've done telephone appointments instead, I've been uploaded my sick notes from the doctors and last week completed a work capability assessment over the phone they sent me a message in y journal to say that i no longer have to upload my sick notes and have limited capability to work but asked me to send In pictures of my passport and 4 months of bank statements saying they want to check there paying me the correct amount which just sounds weird because they should know what I'm paid because it's them who pay me, i was wondering if they suspected me of fraud or something

Im one of many and really don't know how this all works so thank you for your mindful input. from a homeless, panic ridden human living on a boat.
Thank you again Stu . I’m absolutely Petrie of all of it .
What a truly lovely man you are Stuart🌻

Thank you for the up date stu really good information and putting people mind at rest 😊
Thank you for this video, i was / am worried but this made me breath, thanks for all you do as well as dealing with your own issues, ❣️☯️
Thanks Stu, your videos are invaluable. You don’t know how much you help people.
it makes sense why people get terrified whenever the govt. even announces changes that won't happen for years, it's because you feel like your very existence is nothing but a nuisance and that the govt. doesn't want you to be here. even if it's something that might not happen for a while (hopefully we can vote them out before it happens) it is an immediate threat to our only source of income that gives us some semblance of independence, and even then we still don't necessarily feel a part of society because of how often we are demonised in the media and by politicans as not doing enough or being lazy. there's very few places where i feel welcomed or a part of something, not because of anything i've done wrong, but the manufactured guilt and shame i feel for just being disabled and not being well enough to work
Thanks Stu your videos help me so I don't worry so much. 😊
Hi Stu,
Thank you so much for putting out all the very good informative videos.
Thanks Stuart you are always very helpful👍
Hello Stu
I had to stop work due to a work related injury , I was turned down on my first WCA , I then reapplied for a mandatory reconsideration , it was again denied , I then appealed , after several months I received a phone call out of the blue from DWP to notify that my case was re assessed, my case was finally successful ,the appeal never got to court .
Losing* people
Love you stu thank you
Thanks for this , yes your right in the sense that these loop holes are quite evident from around 2010 when the new system was introduced to counter the financial crisis .
No politician, especially Mel Stride should be doing that to disabled people. We will take the Tories, and if necessary legal action.
I understand their are people abusing the system and to be honest it angers me because it takes it away from people that need it
I myself need it but can't get it since losing my mother 3 years ago now
And my son is a genuine case as he has had Autism and mental health his whole life and they did go to stop his money my son threatened to kill himself over this I did take it further as I had proof from doctors councillors and clinics he had attended since he was 4 years old
To be honest if they are wanting to get people into work especially with disabilities they need to have plans in place that will support those people to get a job and so that it supports their needs in the work place
People have different needs and some work places may not support their needs to be in a successful work placement
Very helpful and caring, thank you 💜
Respect Sir
I emailed my local mp who is a mp for the Tories explaining to him in detail why I would be unable to work. Apart from having awful health problems I also look after my elderly mum who has dementia.
I get PIP enhanced for bkth daily living and mobility, im also in the LCWRA element group on universal credit i dont know where i stand with these changes im very worried if someone can clarify this for me? I suffer with severe anxiety, PTSD, Epilepsy and Asperger's/ASD.
Does this mean i wont be reassessed anymore on uc for my LCWRA element?
You just saved my life thanku again 😢
Thank you for this video Stuart 👍👍👍
if some one is disabled and cant work and have a carer , if the have to go to work, 1 does the carer go with them, the employer wont allow it secondly you have to be caring for someone 35 hours or more to claim carers allowance , then because if they are at work 8 hours a day then that will not meet the criteria to claim it
Access to Work could be one option to fund support workers, equipment and adjustments in the workplace though there are long delays.
its already happening or im unfortunatly in a trial area. mandatory 12 month course despite having health issues
What area is the trial areas do you know?
@@jackkiernan5950 surrey/guildford its effecting me already

Stu, I have the highest respect for you as an adviser, but disabled people, and disability charities did not agree to this approach nor did they agree to what's being proposed.
I very nearly lost my life, because of the Tories, and I won't go through that again. I'm not sitting back, and taking this from them.
Thanks Stu, much appreciated, it is a very worrying time, any idea of the trial areas you mentioned?
i was kicked out of watching this valuable stream and came back and my post has gone too?
I have mental health issues
Severe enough to have been hospitalised
The problem with returning to work is who the hell is even going to give me a job?
Medicated to the eyeballs or batshit nuts
I just don't see employment doors opening for me
Thanks for your explanations stu
I can always return to your vids for clarity
Great content stu mate, how long should I wait until I ask the housing council to reply for housing, after losing it after a overpayment? 👍🏻
Thanks.
I am not happy about telling them when going away on Vacation and telling them when we come back from vacation.
How sad is it Stu that you have to mention the Samaritans at the end of your talk. The government dont care how many of us they drive over the edge. We are not work shy, what i cant understand is why do they keep saying the sick need to work, but we're sick for goodness sake if we were well we would work wouldn't we🤔
I| have just found your channel. Funny, I feel less isolated already ;-)
Gud channel and a gud man.
Just discovered your channel. Helpful and supportive, than you
Corrected the spelling; shouldn't have typed without my glasses 🤣
Where does it say in writting that it does not effec those with limited work capacity by universal credit please
Sorry I'm alittle confused, will carers be affected?
Hello I don't if anyone can answer this but it's about the transition payment on universal credit and what's happening regarding people losing money going on to universal credit
Not sure on this one, haven't heard anything about it in a while but will do some digging and see what I can find out
@@StuartMcGoo Hello Stu it was regarding a news item on rightsnet last Friday.
LHA is to be frozen again in future years to allow the increase to be eaten up by inflation.
i get esa and am in support group, but not in universal credit, please stop confusing me.
They're finished, and they know it
Don't understand because government said people on lwrca have to look work
I had my incapacity benefits deleted over ten years ago afrer being called a terrorist by the dwp, i won my tribunial and they were told to put my benefits back, however they then changed the judges conclusions and deleted my entire claim after sending me to a fake job center to be profiled.
Thank you both ❤️
, I think since covid I've just become so tired of life , I've been suffering for over 20 years but I had my mom and dad , however I lost my mom in 2019 and my dad during covid in 2020 , they were both huge parts in my life and helping with my mental health , the world has changed since covid and I'm getting tired of how the country is run , and now it feels like people with disabilities or mental health problems are being made scapegoats for votes and it scares me , ive seen too much corruption to trust them doing the right thing.
I will try to carry on but life is becoming too much.
@@ladykaycey I recently got tattoos myself , I got a serotonin one and a dopamine one , im going to have another one tomorrow with a semi colon.

Does this evil only apply to NHS England or does it apply to Scotland and Wales too?
The devolved adminstrations are free to administer this as they see fit, but they still have to adopt it. Confusing really.
