The best part of this video was when you sit down with him and talked with him and he remembered fishing with his dad for so many years there that is what's priceless to me in this world.
I wish santa would come bring me a present..... A very simple one.... Like spend the day fishing with Mr Robert Arrington..... As you said.... He really is a loving and kind soul..... Top top guy
I grew up in Oak Harbor Washington and recently watch your video when you all went crabbing and fishing out of Cornet Bay. Brought back Sooo many memories. I love the fact that you and your brother include your families into this way of life. My hat is off to you and can't wait for your next release.
Truly enjoyed the dedication to ' In Memory Of George Bannon". Though I didn't have that with my father...I have had the pleasure and honor to have shared that with someone special....my Nephew. That was TRULY AWESOME.great video Robert. Made me home sick.
Wow, what a great video. My favorite part was just silmply watching people "live." Like your motto says "all men die, few ever really live." thanks for sharing with us. I look forward to the next video.
What a lovely thing to do..... In loving memory of Mr bannan...... You really are a decent man Robert Arrington....... Your up there with the best Rob... 👍
I feel like your videos keep getting better and better! I can't describe how much I love just watching your videos and learning with you guys. Thanks for sharing so much with us, I truly appreciate it.
Absolutely gorgeous fish! My parents have a house about an hour and a half away from there. Thanks for the awesome fishing spot. I can't wait to take my Dad there.
BOY , this brings back my fondest memories of fishing the Com Ed. plant warm water discharge in Waukegan , Illinois for monster salmon !!! Never went home empty handed ! GREAT GRILLING FISH and good for the body ! Another fine video from DMFD ! THANK YOU !!!
Ahh the good ole days!! Gotta love Washington. Skiing Baker in the winter, sailn' Lake Watcom on the 4th, then a big salmon feed. Watching you guys on the Sound brings back fond memories:). Another great video you guys, keep up the good work.
That looked like a blast! I love when a plan comes together; your arm tells you to stop but your heart is screaming for more. You showed a lot of humility giving respect where respect is due. I subscribe to many fishing channels on TH-cam and the one thing I like to see is a host giving the credit to a local guide.
Having enjoyed several trips to the Northwest and Alaska for the salmon run and Halibut fishing out of Seward......watching this video just gets me fired up. Minus that sticky mud I am totally envious. Another great video. Growing up, we would take a month every summer to visit grandparents that lived in Montana and they were true ranch people going back generations. The way they took the time to teach the full "field to table" or "river to table" experience....I think that is what you really capture well. You just have a great way of showing/reminding people that the process of acquiring and preparing your own food can be exciting and cathartic and so much more meaningful than going to Costco and buying big slabs of meat that you have zero connection with. Thank you for exposing people to an honest way of life and in a way inspiring people to LIVE that life.
Darren Knudson, we LOVE living off the land!! We feel that it's very important to learn how to provide for your family and not rely on grocery stores if we don't need to. This way we know exactly what we're putting in our bodies and we know we won't go hungry if we were in a crisis!! Thanks for the awesome comment and God Bless!!
Many of my greatest memories were created during the eight years I was stationed at Ft. Lewis WA. I fished the Nisqually, Puyallup, Green, Cowlitz (both forks), Lewis, Washougal, and Little White Salmon rivers as well as Puget Sound mooching off Point Defiance. I spent every off duty day fishing somewhere for Salmon and Steelies. Once when I was out off of Pt. Defiance I had two 30ft Beluga Whales sonaring me along side my 17ft boat as I was slow tolling. Scared the jeepers out of me at first. I absolutely love that place.
Nice to have some one put you on the fish, and to be your first time... NICE! If I had known you were here, it would've been nice to shake hands with you.
This is something I've ALWAYS wanted to do! Beautiful, tasty, fish. My favorite part of the video is you interviewing Guy Bannon, and making the video in memory of his father, George Bannon, is a touching tribute! You are a class act! Hope Simms will sponsor him!!
Brother, thank you for having an awesome channel! You really deserve an official TV show. Maybe on Sunsports.. My heart is in fishing since 3, and i would say that one of my dreams is to hit the water with you brother.. Take care and god bless you and the family.
HI, I'm Annie! Just found your site a few days ago. I cried when I watched your engagement, I cried when you got married and I cried when Aria was born. Watch your vids every spare minute I get. I just subscribed...keep the vids up and thank you!
I just really discovered your channel today and you have been killing me watching you cook all kinds of good food. It's been almost 5 or 6 years since I've cooked or eaten any wild game. But this video really got me at the end. Reminded me of so many fond memories fishing with my father and grandfather as a kid. I grew up on the lakes and waterways in Tennessee but now I live in Florida. Time to take the kids out and make new memories with them on the water
That was cool, we had a couple spots like that down on the Tualatin river in Oregon. After September rains the rivers would swell and the run would begin, grab a pitchfork and the gill nets then fire up the smokehouse.
Sounds like my uncle Cooney Johns needs to show you how to fillet Salmon with out taking ribs,,,He's kind of good at it,,, Perhaps that's because he's been doing it for the past 60 years living on the Skokomish Nation Reservation,,, I've learned a few tricks from him myself. Looks like you guys had fun and that's the main thing, Thanks for sharing. :)
Perhaps the next time you're out this way, give me a heads up and maybe we can plan something on your way north for a day, maybe have a big clam bake, or fish fry. Show you around the rez, hood canal, and give you a little history on the area, perhaps some smoked fish or hard smoked salmon strips, he's the only one left on the rez that still does it the "old,OLD, school way",,, Have a blessed day brother. :) Toksha

I respect your lifestyle, I do eat meat but I meant that I enjoy your videos even on the creatures that I don't like the taste of, keep up the great videos guys.
I think I have some psychological thing against fish being nasty tasting, I tried to eat some but as soon as it hit my mouth I gagged even if it doesn't taste fishy it's like my mind was all "Na bro, don't like it.", humans are silly..
Thanks for being a polite person on the internet in times where it seems like everyone thinks it's cool to be mean. Maybe I'll grow in to liking fish some day.
Rob! You should come up North East to the Salmon river in New York State during the salmon run! Much different tactic to catching them but so much fun!

I don't even like fish but it's always interesting to watch how you prepare animals even if I don't like to eat them.
that's a super cool comment! means a lot to us that you may not live this lifestyle, but you can relate to us and enjoy our videos!
I respect your lifestyle, I do eat meat but I meant that I enjoy your videos even on the creatures that I don't like the taste of, keep up the great videos guys.
I think I have some psychological thing against fish being nasty tasting, I tried to eat some but as soon as it hit my mouth I gagged even if it doesn't taste fishy it's like my mind was all "Na bro, don't like it.", humans are silly..
that's a fact! I've met plenty of people who have mental blocks and can't eat certain things!
Thanks for being a polite person on the internet in times where it seems like everyone thinks it's cool to be mean.
Maybe I'll grow in to liking fish some day.
