The reason why snagging in saltwater is allowed is because those fish are hatchery fish and they are terminal. So basically they just swim around till they die and not ever spawn. Those fish are put there for commercial and personal fishery. Because I don’t believe ripping treble hooks through the sides of salmon is in any way ethical. Every fish you lose has a hole ripped into it. No way is it going to go back and spawn

Love the vids, but can’t stand snagging. Large treble and you rip it through a school. Takes the sport out of it. I can’t imagine that’s legal anywhere.
Really cool how you promote local guides and service's on your journeys. Local guides are the best way to experience a new place. Not just for the fish you catch but all the knowledge they have to share is amazing. Always enjoy watching! Thanks! CWB
idk why u said they're not snagging when thats exactly how there catching them with a snagging treble because most of them probably wouldn't catch shit because there extremely hard to catch with out snagging them. But I don't like it in my opinion but this type of fishing is mainly for food so I guess as long as ur eating them its fine but then there is those guys who are using that bait which isn't snagging an I feel like that's the better way to go about it.
Snagging with weighted trebles like that is only permitted in the ocean here in Alaska, except for some very unique circumstances, like emergency orders. Just FYI.

Great video Rob. Another thing I miss about Alaska the salmon runs. When I was up there I lived with my brother who was in the Air force as a radar tech. My parents sent me there thinking it would keep a teenager out of trouble. But we all know that old saying. You bring you with you and thats all I'll say about that lol. My brother and I being Norwegian built a small smoke house just so we could smoke fish like we learned to do from family in Norway. Friends of mine in Alaska are still using that smoke house today that we built. There is nothing more delicious than smoked salmon and even smoked halibut is delicious also. I'll be 62 in October and I'm planning on going back to see old friends in Alaska next year. I've been to Seward Alaska but when I was there it wasn't as develop as it is now it was much smaller back then beautiful place and your friend there was most likely a baby back then lol. Alaska is purely God's country to me. Once again Rob great video and God bless you and your family. And oh yeah I will be down in Jupiter Florida the end of August to look at properties for me to move to. Hopefully I will be lucky enough to get to meet you and your family because I've been a subscriber since almost your beginnings and it's been like watching family watching your videos.

@@chris6054 yeah they went from Florida to some place by the Bahamas.
@@TheHappyQuadriplegic Yeah man that sounds right then. I got real buddy buddy with a coworker when he told me his brother was a charter capt. When we go on friends & family trips its 'free' but everyone chips in for gas. Still costs a few hundred each depending on what we do 😆😩
@@chris6054 wow so it is expensive 😬
Wow. Gabe dedicated his life to this. In awe. Beautiful 🥰
I would like to see a catch clean and cook a Triple Tails
The best view. I love natural view like this
Wow this video was exciting! Your camera man does an excellent job but when it’s just you recording I feel a more personal connection, I feel like you’re actually talking to me! Idk if I’m the only one who feels like this 😅
Thanks for taking us with you on a beautiful trip Safe travels back home
Straight Snaggin. But there may be no regulation on it in Alaska.
Its literally how we do it they don't eat while.coming in
Yes there it. 100% illegal although they do allow flossing sockeye. Snag like the guy at the start of the video and you will get cited.
Love the vids, but can’t stand snagging. Large treble and you rip it through a school. Takes the sport out of it. I can’t imagine that’s legal anywhere.
I prefer a little c4 and a dip net.
Really cool how you promote local guides and service's on your journeys. Local guides are the best way to experience a new place. Not just for the fish you catch but all the knowledge they have to share is amazing. Always enjoy watching!
Thanks!
CWB
I want to meet you so bad dude now I'm about to go fry me some fish that I caught
Simply love it Rob. What an inspiration to many. May God bless you and your family
idk why u said they're not snagging when thats exactly how there catching them with a snagging treble because most of them probably wouldn't catch shit because there extremely hard to catch with out snagging them. But I don't like it in my opinion but this type of fishing is mainly for food so I guess as long as ur eating them its fine but then there is those guys who are using that bait which isn't snagging an I feel like that's the better way to go about it.
So what about paddlefish fishing then? The only way to catch them is by snagging
Snagging with weighted trebles like that is only permitted in the ocean here in Alaska, except for some very unique circumstances, like emergency orders. Just FYI.
I can’t say It enough I love when you have prayers in your videos for the food god blessed us with❤️❤️
What an awesome video! So many kind and helpful people!!! I loved it when someone caught a fish on the shore...all the fishermen were cheering and helping out! Love you stuff....safe travels!!
Your such an amazing guy always shouting out local stores look up to you very much
Came for the fishing, but what a wonderful surprise with this piano background, she is VERY talented!
Love how you describe cooking... the ingredients are the paint! Next time you are in the neighborhood throw a comment our way!!! Would love to say hi.

Your camera guy is awesome. I feel like I'm seeing a side of Alaska I've never seen on another nature show
I got to do that in Juneau in 2003 and it was a blast! Met so many nice folks and have memories to last a lifetime!
Good to see a fellow Utahn representin! Another great video Rob!
you and your family are an amazing blessing to so many people ty and God bless
Robert got my signed hat yesterday. Thanks so awesome.
I can tell the Jensen family is LDS by they way they pray, piano playing, lots of kids lol
Yes, we are!!
@@drjent3350 I'm from Utah so I could tell right away! Awesome family!
one of my favorite places to go, i go every summer and dont plan on stopping. it is always amazing when i go
I have a great memory catching a giant Lake Trout while catching big Kings and Cohos with my uncle and cousins on Lake Michigan. Robert, your enthusiasm reminds me a lot of my uncle's. His father, my grandfather, was in the US Navy stationed in Seward a long time ago. I was always told I needed to see and experience its beauty. I'm a subscriber and watch whenever I need a dose of the outdoors. From Naperville, Illinois!
I like that moment at 17:25 ..
Yes you guys are being blessed because of only prayer.
God bless u sir . Lots of love from India 🇮🇳❤️
On my trip to Alaska, that is the place we rented our gear before going to the guide. It was awesome there was a guy there who helped me out and help land my fish. I ended up catching three
You are an amazing human Robert. These videos are amazing!!!
Hi, I've been watching your videos on and off for some years now! You gave me a dream! A dream to one day retire from my work and live off the land! Your so inspirational! I have recently got my partner into watching your adventures! She loves it! Even my 2 year old daughter! Coming from the city you don't realise how much of a big world it is outside there! Keep up the hard work...love from the 🇬🇧!
