Thank you 😊 and I noticed I messed up the video edit at that time-stamp 😅 created a template to drop in my photos on the timeline but it didn't play nice with the wide aspect of that photo lol
You're an inspiration as always ! Am so lucky to find your channel and after binge watching your video yesterday, i immediately watched this after getting the notification ! Now my saving up period just got shorter ! Since my phone is 7 years old, i will get myself a xiaomi ultra and some filters instead of months of saving to get an a6700 and a couple of lens to start my street photography journey !
Omg that misty b&w picture with the people on that floating walkway would make a great album cover. It's like they're walking through a dream. I also had a good laugh about the busses photo bombing your shots.
How dare trams and buses going past me when I'm trying to take a photo hey 😂 it was an awesome (but cold) day ! Cannot wait to go out and about and explore more what Manchester has in store for me and the channel 😊 once again thanks for the kind words ❤️ I'm really loving B&W at the moment and a few photographers are inspiring me at the moment with B&W and monochromatic shots so it might indeed show in my work 😅
8.29. just love those "flat iron" buildings. Such an interesting shape. Love your Street Photography man. It's a real art. You're 100% correct, you don't need expensive top spec gear to take good photos, just a bit of technical understanding and real talent. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I've got either but I can certainly appreciate those who have 👍
Ahhhh my man thanks so much for the kind words but believe me, i haven't got an extra photography gene 🧬 lol like I always say it's about going out there and trying new things, failing, succeeding ! Art is in the eye of the creator ! No one there to judge what you're doing 👌🤙
@UpsideLens Yeah agreed. I seem to have the eye for model, portraiture (which the Xiaomi isn't too consistent with), buildings and landscape but not so with people and street. TBH, they sort of annoy me, getting in the way 😂 but you're right, I'm "learning" to include them and "see" the character in street art. Keep up the great videos 👍
@paulbuckingham4676 thanks man 👍 and yeah we always got to keep re-inventing ourselves trying new things ! For me at the moment it's B&W and the monochromatic aspect of photography which a few photographers have inspired me to go and explore so that might be showing more in my work.
Are you happy with the phones other features? Battery life, thermals, sound and speakers? Do the lenses fog up? You've been using the phone for some time now. Would be great to see a "6 months later" in depth review. Thank you for awesome content.
Glad you asked for a 6 months later with the Xiaomi.... That's my next video 😂 no fogging (many haters bring it up, it was a batch of units that unfortunately had the issue) battery will last me comfortably a whole normal day with mixed WiFi/5G and still have 30% at the end of the day (if not shooting over 500 photos and countless video shots 😅) never gets hot unless charged at 90W, sound is ok, not iPhone good (ie not as bassy). Could t be any happier with it !
😂 not a design flaw, manufacturing error of a small batch from one of their factories mate. Mine and millions of others don't have that issue thank god !
Thanks I really appreciate, I may do one in the future but these types of videos tend to get buried in the algorithm of the tube lol put simply most people don't watch them. To be completely honest people can't be bored to edit their photos lol they want a magic button that does it all for them 😂 I don't know man I'll see if I can work something out soon. I did make one last year, about an hour long going through a few photos in lightroom
@@UpsideLens I understand 😅. Unfortunately the algorithm doesn't necessarily favor quality content. And I get it... Most people avoid anything but the simple route. But I reckon the people that will be attracted to your channel aren't that type. Just like myself, they're probably photographic enthusiasts who happen to enjoy creators who put in the time to be authentic, honest and not give in to the "general consensus". People who are in search for the actual best, not the "average consumer" best... 🤦♂ Anyway, I hope your channel grows man and you enjoy your work more than before 🙂🙋♂.
Thank you 🙏❤️ I'm only using part of the photography kit, the case, which allows me to use filters. The grip to me is useless, I've reviewed it when I first got the phone... No focus lock on half press on shutter button, so yeah useless to me. The "hot" country is indeed Morocco 😉 having said that it wasn't that hot in the morning... 6c 😬 afternoon climbed up to nearly 35c tho, was a nice change 👌
For the last six years, I've used three different Xperia models (Xperia 1, Xperia 5ii & Xperia v). I don't know whether I should switch to the upcoming Xiaomi 15 or wait for the Xperia 1vi later this year. The first thing I look for is camera features.
@UpsideLens Yeah. You might be better off skipping. The lens setup looks ugly and they didn't change much. They will probably pull a canon m50 where they add features that in the previous version but not address core issues. Like it'll be something minimal I bet like being able to shoot 50 megapixels raw in all 4 sensors or something. And the ability for log on them and what not.
Substance over form any day, really couldn't care less what they do with the design as long as they don't butcher what they have already ! Unlike most other companies who struggle with the hardware aspect, Xiaomi needs to work on the software, to me it's the only blemish ! Need better camera UI, need better accessories integration (IE photo grip that doesn't even allow for locking focus or exposure on half pressing shutter button 🤦) clumsy photo app UI, need more actual PRO features like exposure and focus bracketing and why not being a pioneer and come up with RAW burst mode, no other manufacturer does that ! Hardware is more than able to do it (see what motion cam can do !!!) so yeah Xiaomi needs to up their game on stuff that actually matters if they want to affirm themselves as the photographers device of choice !
@UpsideLens Yeah your right. For me I want to see them innovate a little more too. Sony Xperia dominates when it comes to photography features imo but then lacks everywhere else which is the issue with these companies. They are known for being good at one specific thing that other companies don't have but then lacks the things that others don't lack if you know what I mean
Welcome to cold Manchester 😂 im about an hour away from there been with your Chanel since the Xperia stuff your the reason i got one. Its great to see how far your channel has come 👍 on all of the photos taken in the day did you use the Nd filter?
Thanks man means a lot 🙏 tbh Manchester not that cold compared to Norwich 😅 only used the diffusion filter on all my day shots and ND for the long exposure stuff. I tend to use the ND only if I need to lock the shutter when recording b-roll for example, and for long exposure shots.
Didn't make a difference for me, just bought it online but I can see how one would want to see how it fits in the hand, see the screen and so on. You could order it off Amazon and send it back if you didn't like it I guess.
@UpsideLens yeah that's true, do you buy it and then get a sim only contract? And how is the phone apart from the camera side of it? Also loved the video, you make it look easy
Yes we've known these specs via several leaks for a while now. If they prove to be indeed 100% accurate I may skip it ! Give me larger pixels not more smaller ones ! That Samsung sensor is a terrible idea for many reasons as a photographer 😔
I will be making a video soon showing that it's 90% about composition and editing, not the phone itself ! I'll be using an OLD and CHEAP phone to prove the point 😉
If you come to Sheffield give me a shout , and if you want company walking round i dont mind driving to sheffield. Can bring my camera and Vivo X200 pro
The device doesn't matter, what makes good photos is composition and editing, the hardware itself a bonus. iPhone ,pixel, galaxy, Xperia, all phones nowadays are much more capable than most people think. Switch to RAW and manual and you're halfway there 👍
I bet that nobody remaining too long with a phone is interested in photography, they don't go further that what the phone does automatically for them. If you are interested in photography you need to understand the exposure triangle and stuff, and as i said, nobody's doing that shit with a phone.
Pretty narrow minded answer if you asked me ! So because 95% of people use their phone cameras to 1% of its capabilities doesn't mean the other 5% don't know how to ! Composition and edit over pretentious hardware !
@@UpsideLens Your whole video has a fallacy though, nobody's staying at home because they don't have a proper camera. 95% don't care at all, and 5% already have a proper camera and use the phone as a second camera when needed.
Part of what I do allows me to meet a lot of people and I can tell you a lot of people who are into photography (not pro-photographers, just enthusiasts) don't realise the potential of phones. They get pressured by people, just like yourself, that if they want to get into the hobby it is blasphemy to use a phone and that they have to invest in "proper" camera, that's just plain wrong.

😂 actually 1kg travel tripod which folds into a mere 38cm... Let's just get things right 😉 and thank you for proving my point, parties must be fun with you around 😂
@@UpsideLens Carrying a tripod negates the whole point of shooting with a phone. And the image quality is simply incomparable in favor of a real camera...
