It's that special look they get, eyes start to glaze, head nods randomly trying to pick out the beat, hands start to move involuntary, then remembers he's supposed to be doing a reaction and slowly returns to consciousness.

    Introductions:.
Miku "small pigeon" Kobato-founder, rhythm guitar, 2nd vocalist, lyricist.
    Saiki "ice queen" Atsumi-1st vocalist.
Kanami "princess" aka "mincho" Tono-lead guitar, keyboards, composer.

I do recommend seeing Domination Live, Play Live, Freedom Live, Wonderland Live, Onset Live and Real Existence Live to get a better feel for their musicianship and personality. Plus most of great crowd interaction. After that then check out many of their more recent MVs.

Welcome to the best hard rock band on the planet! These ladies are from Japan and been together for over 9 years. They mix genres a lot. You will hear classic hard rock, punk, punk-pop, blues, groove, metal, prog and Jazz from them, often mixed in one track. They can blow your face off with hard a rock/punk stadium anthem or make grown men cry with a ballad. They do a mean acoustic set also. They are incredibly talented, but they are also five lovely people without a shred of ego. They love each other and they love their fans. They are bringing the fun back to rock & roll!
You need to witness them live - from their official channel try 'Domination' Live version. To see the drummer in her element try 'Freedom' Live version. Other great live tracks are 'Play', 'Real Existence' or 'Onset' an instrumental that will blow your mind. (They are currently on their sold out US tour btw)!
Best wishes, see you soon Po!

Welcome aboard, Cheezy. You are embarking on (along with many others - 157 million YT views plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:

BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (124 songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom.
Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular!
Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: th-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/w-d-xo.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on.
But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits like Sense, Glory and Unleash (from their own Anime MV (series?)): th-cam.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/w-d-xo.html)
And many songs are represented with over 40 well produced music videos. th-cam.com/users/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts:
     ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” th-cam.com/video/nAdWnIRjGak/w-d-xo.html
 Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on February 14th “Domination” th-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/w-d-xo.html
     ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” th-cam.com/video/-qQnKILR5u0/w-d-xo.html
 Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 (Full concerts from the last two songs are on bandmaidprime.tokyo and DVD/BD/CD)
And some of the better quality 2019 tour Fan vids are excellent. Here’s two of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at super intimate venues:
 Taken by Vladimir Chupin in Hamburg: th-cam.com/video/__1th7ctgMo/w-d-xo.html
     And by JOSER8845 in LA: th-cam.com/video/usWZvlGGDSs/w-d-xo.html.
If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo
Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.
For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009
    Band-Maid Members:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 28 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen!
Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 31 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!!
Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 31 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more!
Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 31 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party!
MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 30 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!
Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans.
    [BAND-MAID NEWS]
 BAND-MAID PRIME - Special Video Distribution Website. Along with nearly 50 great play-through’s by each member, concerts and skits, Band-Maid management / label(s) have included the ZEPP 2018 and Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 concerts! Fans can now see more than 50 great live performances with awesome audio, etc. like Fate, I Can't Live Without You and the great MISA / Kanami exchange in Don't You Tell Me. Cheezyzyx, your reaction may as well have been a video of me 1.5 years ago when I first heard The Maids. Same song. Same mind-bending experience. It blew me away and I haven't looked back. It's impossible. Fast forward to earlier this month and I drove 20 hours round trip to see them live in Phoenix and I'd do it again IN A HEARTBEAT! These ladies are phenomenal. This band IS SPECIAL! Pick anything to check out next. Seriously, it's ALL STELLAR. Welcome to the Asylum! 🕊

You simply have to check out their song called THRILL as it is the best made for video as the contrast of red white and black makes this a must see and is a fabulous tune showcasing SAIKI's wonderful voice and her and MIKU the founder and rhythm guitarist is also a great singer. Manners is a curiously wonderful song with an odd backup chorus which I find delightful.

Always so fun to see a new maidiac born! The only downside I've found to my B-M addiction is after seeing them play last night in NJ, I started to feel depressed realizing I wouldn't get to see them again for another couple of years probably.
Anyway, I got to hear them play Dice, so that was cool. But I especially loved the songs off their latest EP, like Influencer, From Now On, Unleash!!!!! and Hate?.

The second video I ever saw from them and them and the one that cemented my fandom. 15 seconds in I paused the video, took off my headphones and said "my goodness I have a favorite band". Haven't stopped since and had the joy of flying half way across the country to see them live in Dallas over a week ago. Best event I've ever attended by a wide margin.

I would suggest the "Blooming" MV or anything else live ! Great Reaction Welcome =)

Great song to start your Band Maid journey with. It’s the tip of the iceberg… and, trust me, you haven’t actually been amazed by them yet! They always improve, and set the bar higher and higher. They are better live if you can believe it! You’ll get plenty of great song suggestions (there aren’t any bad ones), but I’ll vote for “Manners/Black Hole”, which is a live internet concert video of 2 great songs. I always recommend it because it’s 2 very different styles done perfectly. Until very recently the weren’t able to play those 2 songs for live audiences, so that’s why it was on the net.

Welcome to the world of Japanese Rock/Metal. There are 200+ Rock/Metal bands in Japan with about half all female. Band Maid right now is the most famous and have just finished their 13 US cities Tour, all dates sold-out. Another band is Nemophila, they played the Aftershock festival in Ca. They will tour the US in 2023. For a first Nemophila reaction, "Dissension" is a good start, Alt "Monsters".

Learn to expect the unexpected with these ladies. They are about to finish a 14 date sold out tour of the US. We love them and they love their fans to bits. In the 21st century this is what rock should sound like. They are- Miku (red flower)- Band founder, lyrics, second vocals, guitar. Saiki (blue flower)- lead vocals. Kanami- Composer, lead guitar, backing vocals. MISA- bass, awsome coolness. Akane- just drums, but what drums. The best rhythm section anywhere at the moment. Don't worry, you will have more than 3,000 views when you wake up tomorrow.

MISA, the barefoot assassin on bass. Akane, the gorilla on drums. Miku, the little pigeon and founder of the band on rhythm and backing vocals. Kanami, The Riff Goddess on lead guitar and writer of most of the music. The beautiful Saiki on lead vocals. You will find that the Maidiacs love their girls. A super engaged fan base for this band. I can’t stress that enough. The Maidiacs would do anything for this band. All 5 members are equally loved. Something you don’t see in 99% of other bands. Enjoy the ride, a lot of great music in front of you. They are better live!!!

    Mate!
Greetings again from Shizuoka City as I had to come back to this other superb reaction of yours that I had commented on yet!
This song is old by their standards (about 4 years old) and they were only showing their potential!
Many people prefer them live but I love both studio videos, live concert videos and albums as all of them have so much to discover in!
They sound deceptively simple enough, but once you dig in a second and third times you end up flabbergasted by the depth and intricate structure of their compositions.
People love them onstage for their goofy communication with their audience while showing an unexpected wild face, especially Kanami, the lead guitarist who is practically a living dichotomy!
But on top of all that their work ethics are simply unworldly, even if I am now used to the Japanese ethos after living there for 46 years.
Once you have gone through their repertoire you will realize they do not fit into one genre but maybe all of them. Many a reactor just sums it up with the expression, "Band Maid doing Band Maid things"!
Looking forward to chatting again with you!
    Best regards,
    Robert-Gilles

My Friend, great reaction. Next song?...well, pick any. Go live Official or fan cam and lose your mind. One of the best bands in the history of the music. And be ready for the live performances because thay are unreal, spectacular, stellar and insane. Next song ?, again, pick any MV, Official live or fancam. Easy, we dont mind and let me inform you that they do everything, yes, everything (composition, lyrics, arragments, etc.) and they create songs continuoslly.Non stop and with touches of rock, hard rock, punk, blues, jazz, funk, 'a capella', prog, metal, rap...blah, blah, blah and usually they mix all these touches in the same song. Keep going

Their talent is off the scale. yes all girls, all Japanese. They have their own genre from hard rock - Rinne - to soft acoustic - Puzzle . All their songs are composed by lead guitar Kanami who is probably a musical genius. All members work to produce the finished song and there are no egos so everyone gets a chance in the spotlight. Their concerts are legendary and they are the hardest working, nicest people you will ever meet.

They are really really good! Very in your face wall of sound. They seem super technically proficient, or I don't know what, but it sounds amazing. Coming from TWA, it's funny reading the comments from all the Band-Maid fans, I see so many similarities with comments from The Warning. I guess that's what it means to be a fan and cheer for your favorite band! I discovered this band from watching reactors for The Warning, I wonder how it would have influenced my passion for TW if I had discovered Band-Maid or another of the recent breakout rock bands first. But hey, there's no rule against liking more than one band, so cheers! Band-Maid is awesome.
