How the heck did you get this many lives?
You go to the end of level 3, when two turtles will be coming down the stairs, kill the first one then stand on any stair as far to the right as you can get, then jump straight up as the second turtle is about to fall on the step in front of you, keep jumping straight up he will be pinned there, eventually Mario will continue jumping all by himself, you can rack up as many lives as you want doing this.
@@stanleyshedd2643 Don't go over 128, though. If you do that, you'll get a game over the next time you die. The reason why is very technical, but I'll try to explain it.
Since the NES is 8-bit, it can only store values up to 8 bits long, which means numbers from 0 to 255. The value that stores the lives is signed, which means that the number can be from -128 to 127. Once the counter exceeds 127, the value will overflow and wrap around to -128, and begin counting up from there. Since the lives counter is negative, the game will think you've run out of lives and will give you a game over the next time you die.

Dammit!! I’ve watched this a million times - with a million lives - ok exaggerating but I know all the cheats and level skippers but I can’t for the life of me get it!! I’m turning 38 at the end of the year- I found this in the garage during iso I can’t believe I used to pass it - what happened to me?!? Lol

Awesome,i never finish this stage
U can finish it only if u play patiently, it's not that hard. Only the last stage "8-4" is a bit difficult but if u can memorize that whole stage, then it's nothing.
Make no mistake, 8-4 is hard, thanks to that hammer brother at the end/ I can beat the game and have beat the game many many times but it usually takes me at least 20 men to do so....;)

I been playing this game on the game and watch and luckily I found the infinity Easter egg and now don't have to worry about getting game over I'm in 8-4 and can't seem to win I keep dying either the hammer bro gets me or bower does wish there was a way of getting a mushroom to make me bigger or a star of invincibility then get past them but this one is hard. I don't remember it being this hard when I played 30 something yrs ago when i first played it

Thing is I thought I once finish all those stages & defeated the dragon when I was a kid. Now after decades when I try to play it again I guess I had skipped level 8 back then. Coz I've done a lot to finish this level but time running so fast & to survive the jump within a gap and landed 1:17 at ease without control isn't easy though. Moreover how is it possible to beat the flying turtle by jumping on it ?
World 8 is my nemesis 😂
