Espace Tricot has wonderful free patterns. I made the Paloma and it's a beautiful pattern and beginner friendly. I'm going to make The Classic too. I didn't have any luck with the one Drops free pattern I tried. Great video.
Thank you SO MUCH Charlotte, for just another great video that comes right on cue for me as I just recently got to know a 19 year old young woman who has picked up the passion for knitting but has close to no experience whatsoever and really is eager to knit her very first sweater. Of course I'm there to help her if needed - but what could be better to give her confindence a boost than providing her wth a pattern she possibly can handle almost on her own! So I was out and about to go on a research to find patterns like these for her. No need for that anymore now, you've already done all that for us which saves me a lot of time that I can now spend knitting. My personal favorites are the "Classic" and the "Fancy" which I clearly can see me knitting for myself as well at some point in time. Too much on my needles already right now - just like you. I'm always thrilled when you release a new video and I can invite you in and enjoy your company for a while during my knitting time here in Germany. Best wishes and great success with all your crafty adventures... 🤎
HA HA! I happened to come upon your video while knitting the Gingerbread 😃; although, I am using medium weight rather than the fingering weight. I love its simplicity❤️.
I started The Classic last Autumn. I was new to sweater knitting and struggled with the compound raglan so I parked it but you’re right, it is beautiful. Maybe I will try again now I have a bit more experience 😬 Joline Knits A Lot just knit a gorgeous big scarf in Big Birdie that really shows off the colours and fluffiness. Delectable. Makes me wish I could get some, too.
First let me say you are absolutely gorgeous secondly you are incredibly helpful for beginner knitter. What a great heads up. Very thankful for your contribution of knitting knowledge 😊
There Is Your Beautiful Face! This Is An Amazing Pod! Look At Your Makeup! Your Eyes Are So Bright 💕 I Have Such A Que Of Knits, Overwhelmed Is Right Gurl 😅 I'm Still Dipping Into That List Once In A While, Adding More Now.
A fabulous selection of beautiful sweaters. Thank you! The only caveat I would add is with the Drops pattern. They are a Danish company I believe and the patterns are very concisely written and assume a level of knowledge that might put a beginner knitter off. But the design you chose from them is gorgeous and I'd love to knit it one day!
Oh thanks for the information! I didn’t know they were Danish! Thank you for telling me! I’ll definitely probably exclude them if I do future videos like this in the future. If the patterns are meant for beginners that is. Thanks!
I made the Autumn League Pullover and can confirm it's a great pattern! Love mine. I made it in Berrocco Vintage DK which is a pretty affordable wool/acrylic blend.
I have just recently finished this too. I knit this in King Cole Simply Denim (cotton acrylic blend). Perfect for a light jumper. Love it. I had to adjust size as I could not make gauge but it worked out well. ♥️
i love youre podcast!! i saved it so that i can look at it when my cardigan i done. great hplidays foryou and youre family an see you next time.great luck whit youre podcast and greetings from the netherlands🥰😘
Amazing 🤩 thank you so much 🤩🤩🤩👌👌👌🙏🙏🙏🙏very helpful. I’ve started to knit top down sweaters and I’m loving it. These patterns are so welcome for me to give it a go. 😉🥰😍❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great video and my first one with you. I really enjoyed it. Some super choices too, a few of which are already in my favourites on Ravelry. Free patterns for first projects is definitely the way to go. I think I might go for one of these for my first sweater. I've not knit a garment yet...I'm currently on my first proper project which is a bear. But I'd love to sink my teeth into something I can wear.
Thanks for the great video. FYI: Espace Tricot patterns are no longer free. The new owners of the shop (in Montreal) have made changes. Some will still be free, I think, but some not.
Awesome video. Lots of informations. You have a lot of knowledge about this. You explain things very easy. Thank you so much for sharing. Love and Blessings to you and Lady. ❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏 Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘
It used to be free! This was made almost a year ago and it seems a couple have now been out behind a paywall. Apologies but I can’t control that! Maybe I’ll make another one that is updated in the future :)

Ohh I’ll have to check them out!
Thanks for sharing. And thank you for splitting this into yarn weights, that was super helpful. 😊
Glad it was helpful!

I agree. Their patterns are lovely, but they are not written for beginners! It’s best to have made a few sweaters before you try one of theirs.

The Classic isn’t free…followed the link and there is a fee.

Autumn League and Classic patterns are no longer free.
Thank you but it's not a free.
I know I’ve heard some of them are now not free. Big bummer. But at the time they were free patterns :)
