    In this review, we explore the 2024 Toyota Crown, a stylish and high-riding sedan poised above the Camry in Toyota's lineup, starting at just over $41,000. As the successor to the discontinued Avalon, the Crown offers standard all-wheel drive, a choice of two hybrid powertrains, and sleek design elements. Priced between $41,000 for the base XLE trim and $54,000 for the top-tier Platinum, we investigate whether the Crown's features and allure are enough to sway buyers from the popular crossover and SUV segments. Join us as we delve into the exterior, discuss trim levels, and test the limited edition to determine if the 2024 Toyota Crown stands out in its class.

    My dad just bought the 2024 Toyota crown platinum hybrid max, fully spected. And so far we love the car, and the dealership we bought it from took $5000 off the car because no one‘s buying them. The reason my dad went with the crown is he hates the look of the Toyota Camry. I don’t mind the Camry . They look fine.

    I own one and it’s the best car I’ve ever owned. I love it and it gets a lot of positive attention on the road. Complete strangers have started conversations with me asking about my Crown, all complimentary. No one looks twice at a Lexus ES, it’s an old persons car. The Crown is way better than a Camry or Accord. They are Uber and taxi vehicles. The Crown is definitely a luxury car.

      The platinum doesn’t have the droning sound of the cvt transmission in the limited or xle. The platinum has 6 speed transmission and you don’t hear it but not as good gas mileage

    • @austin67605
      @austin67605 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The platinum sounds much better. Its quieter because its turbocharged, its quieter because it has more power and doesnt have to work as hard and it has a "normal" transmission so he should be much happier. Also, theyre likely to launch a plug in hybrid version next year which would be totally silent around town and up to 85+ for around 40 miles. New lexus ES hybrid will also come out next year (likely). Same powertrain but it should be quieter.

    I’m a salesman at a Toyota dealership. I don’t get how they could replace the Avalon with this. The Avalon was basically Lexus loaded up good size sedan and now this thing the crown has really big wheels and just looks weird and the way it designs and functions is targeting like 20 something or maybe people in their 30s but they can’t afford $50,000 vehicle so this thing is gonna go the way the dodo bird real soon.

    When you say at the end that the ES "has more features" can you say more about that? The headlamps are 2 instead of 4. You don't have the panoramic roof. You don't have AWD . The rear seats aren't heated. It's slower at a 0 - 60 of 8.1 and horse power of 215. I think the brand of Crown is going to beat brand of Lexus unless I'm missing something.

    Looked at your review to compare the Crown against my Avalon Hybrid. First look at the vehicle, it reminded me of a Honda although it does look good. In general I was disappointed that it is so close in size to Camry. We bought the Avalon for its roomy interior. Looks like Toyota gave that up. Too bad. I have loved the performance of the Avalon. Over the 4+ years I've had it, I've averaged right at 42 mpg. which is great. Toyota makes good vehicles. Thanks for the review.

    A cool car but I don't understand why you'd pay so much more than a Camry or Accord for it. Sure the hybrid-max is cool but the Crown is Lexus ES money in many trims. I'd either drop down to an Accord or Camry and save big or get an Acura or Lexus for similar money.

    They took out a lot of stuff from the Toyota Crown from when it was in foreign markets. Overseas the ones made in the last decade or two have reclining rear seats with a full Mercedes style leg rest that lifts your feet and legs into the air. It’s more of a car to be chauffeured in. But then they send it to us and remove all those high end options. So I don’t get the point of this car. You’re probably better off buying a good condition used Lexus for 50k than buying this.

    I have owned 5 Avalons. My 2024 Crown is a disappointment in comparison. I wish I had kept my 2016 Avalon. The electronics are confusing for an old guy like me. The sales experience pre- sale and post-sale at Venice Toyota in Venice Florida was miserable. They wanted to be paid in full up front on 12/30/23. The car was supposed to come in on 1/7/24. They said I would be able to keep track of the car's location on the Toyota app. That was a lie. When I had heard nothing I called on January 8 and spoke to an extremely rude receptionist. The salesman called finally and said the car would be in on 1/9/24. When I went to pick up the car the salesperson did not have the time to review the car features, especially the electronics because he was in the middle of another sale. Finally raised a stink and was put in contact with another salesman. He was a little better about explaining the features, especially the electronics, but it was a rush job. Next, for $53,000, Toyota gave only one keyfob and promised a second one at some future date. After 4 months of not one word I called about the keyfob. After going through some extremely rude "service" personnel, finally got the keyfob with the assistance of Elizabeth from Toyota. Elizabeth took additional time to install the additional subscriptions which I paid for and which should have been done by the dealer. The car itself is OK but it has not really "grabbed" me like all of my Avalons. The multimedia screen is big but hard to see as driving down the road. Its location creates distraction and in my mind it is a safety hazard. I have the Platinum trim and there is plenty of power! The 5 modes create vastly different ride, handling, and gas mileage. One of the modes will create a great driving experience for any type of driver across the spectrum. Gas mileage is about 27 mpg overall. Gas mileage on the highway is great. I like a smooth ride and am able to obtain it in normal mode. The double sporty mode creates great road feel if that is what you like. It makes the vehicle feel a little like a pickup but handling on curves in that mode is very good. Toyota makes a great product, but it falls off starting with sales and continues through service. Consumer service at Toyota corporate is very good and these people do understand their product. Sales people do not understand the product. Before signing on the dotted line, I would want the features of the car explained to me in great detail, especially the electronics and the extra subscriptions many of which are good for 10 years. I do not recommend the car and the crossover look is not impressive in my view.

Also you can get a fully loaded Hyundai Tucson that’s cheaper than the crown which also includes rear heated seats, more legroom, and better speakers.
