I couldn’t use that charm build, I’m too used to sharp shadow since I got it almost right after getting shade dash. Kinda annoying tbh because it’s kinda a crutch having that longer dash.
@@marcusorta714well actually it's about rng and skill there are a lot of shinies that are harder to catch then all of hollow knight I played both games and I can confirm that some shinies in Pokemon needs skill out of this world

Bretta will actually lose interest the more you beat the boss. So when you get gold statue, you will notice she looks bored during zotes ranting now compared to before.
OP doing his best Zote impression Precept 58: Do the easiest boss last. Then when you defeat him you can flex in the TH-cam comment section. Precept 59: Dictionaries are a waste of time. Everyone knows that using big words will make you sound smart, so use them. However, your time is precious. Why spend it learning definitions when those you speak to won't know them either?
I found that sharp shadow was actually working really well in this fight! usually the longer dash is more of a downside but whit grey prince zote it was super useful and it was easier to dodge attacks whit it
Unbreakable strenght + Mark of Pride + Thorns of Agony + Unbreakable Fragile Body. This was My combination. I learned to dodge his attacks and hit him like he owed me money, and whenever I had some soul I spammed Shade Soul. NO MERCY!
Pretty sure you can fight the white defender (dunk defender) 5 times too but each time damage doubles. So 1, 2, 4, 8, and 16? I'm guessing. No sure tho
I'm an incurable completionist even with games I've already 100% and this fight is one of the main reasons I always hesitate starting a new game of Hollow Knight. Well, this and the pantheon of hallownest.

Ironically, the only time he was a problem for me is when he dealt 5 dmg. There was no difference when he dealt 5 and 6 masks, but 5 masks was somehow harder
You can kinda cheese him with shaman stone, spell twister, weaver song, grub song, and unbreakable/fragile heart by spamming desolate dive/ descending dark because of the immunity it gives you when you hit the ground
5 hours?!?!?! I literally spent 2 days grinding and getting good in 10th fight so that i might die right near the very end just so i could spend another day redoing it again. It was so satisfying when i won. I can't even begin to tell you how great it felt. I'm never doing it again though.
I feel bad for the people that struggle with this bossfight, it only took me 5 tries to Radiant it and the best part is that once you radiant it the statue automatically gets golden.

I honestly think it'd make a little more sense of GPZ got easier with each fight, it'd kinda be a representation of Bretta progressively losing intrest in Zote (and no, I'm not just saying this because I'm a coward).

The difference really is just Rng versus skill, so players choose what makes them feel more fulfilled.

Something that makes fights easier is the shadow dash ability because you can go through them if you need to

For me I used a spell build and I killed him right when he spawned with full soul so I got to kill him 10 times first try
