    I really love this suit because I think it works so well for catching light, particularly for dark location or night scenes. There's just so much more detail for light to bounce off and highlight. It's not as iconic of a look, but like Tim said, within this movie and how it was shot, it works so well.

    Andrew Garfield is the closest we get to ultimate Spider-man period. I hate when people say this about Tom Holland because he was younger, ultimate Pete was a hot headed, angry, sarcastic kid who back talked his teachers, was rash and dated half of the females in that universe 🤣. My fav interpretation of the character and wish they made a better second and a third film.

    • @koreywinicky7767
      @koreywinicky7767 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean Garfield was the best ultimate. Tobey was the best 1960s Spiderman. Holland is the best modern 616 spiderman. These are all different Spidermen, so people are right when they say Holland is, and you are right saying Garfield is. Not everyone read or liked The Ultimate comics. The MCU seems to pull from them more for this reason I think.

    Dude I am so damn pumped to see Andrew Garfield back as Spidey. He poured his absolute heart and soul into the role but the studio system does what it usually does and ruins things. He embodies the essence of Spider-Man, and he deserves another chance because he was great in the role despite the movies not being amazing.
    I also highly recommend anyone who is either a fan of his or a music fan to watch Tick Tick Boom. It’s a fantastic film with a stellar performance. Probably Andrew’s best so far to be honest.

    It may not be perfect but to me, it damn near is. I LOVE EVERYTHING about this movie. It isn't just my favorite Spidey movie, it is easily in my top five comic films ever. I disagree about the emotional beats in this film. I think Ben's death and Captain Stacy's death land really well. Peter's silent scream after Captain Stacy finally gives up the ghost is just plain great cinema.

      @@rextitan Far from Home is so mid. When was the last time you watched it? The only things that are really "Spider-Man" are the two Mysterio fights and the final swing. There's no focus on responsibility or his actions having negative consequences for his life (until the post credits scene). It just feels so Disney Channel-ish.

    • @rextitan
      @rextitan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CrossOutBryce i watched it a couple months ago for the third or fourth time. I find it really enjoyable? It's not necessarily about responsibility but i don't think it needs to be. it's about peter learning to trust himself with his own power and the power he's given. It ends with a perfect depiction of that. He beats mysterio with his eyes closed. I understand it has less "spiderman moments" but it has a lot of Peter Parker moments to fill that gap. I find watching Tom Holland as Peter equally fun. To me it's just a great film to watch.

    • @johnnydi2203
      @johnnydi2203 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It blows my mind how the best elements of the Raimi franchise go right over their heads. I understand some of their complaints, but it's like that's all they can see. Then with the ASM films, they seem more willing to put up with bullshit and just enjoy the positive elements.
      But to me, the bullshit in the ASM films is much more egregious. Lizard plot holes, Peter's parents backstory, etc.

    • @aoe41015
      @aoe41015 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think you’re in a bubble. Watch the schmoe re reviews of the raimi movies and they ultimately put out the reasons why tobey is the weakest of the three and whole those movies have elements that are good and iconic, as a whole they don’t do any of the characters well, Peter is unlikable through them all. I hate that TASM2 has the best suit and imo the best spiderman swinging scene but that movie is awful in where it goes.

    • @CrossOutBryce
      @CrossOutBryce 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@aoe41015 They're going to like ASM2. Honestly, that movie is entertaining as hell and MAINLY suffers because of the Parents plot focus and the rush to make Harry the Green Goblin and introduce the Sinister Six.
      The acting and chemistry between leads is really good. The ACTION is the best out of ALL the Spider-Man films.
      We were angry about it because it seemed weak compared to the hot streak the MCU was on at the time.

    • @idakev
      @idakev 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CrossOutBryce The Amazing Spider-Man have the worst action scenes of the live action movies by far. They're mediocre.
      The final battle in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is terrible. People hated it because it's 90% CGI and it's much more obviously fake than in other superhero movies. There's so much particle effects coming from Electro that you can barely see his face properly if you stream the movie rather than watching it on Bluray or downloading it (seriously, look up the clip on TH-cam and watch it in 1080p).
      The Lizard fight scenes in 1 are forgettable as well. *From a film making perspective, these movies are bland in most ways except the relationship between Peter and Gwen.* It's the only thing of a high quality in them, and the only reason that watching them wasn't a complete waste of time. I'll never forget how bad that chimney joke in 2 is. Jesus. Aunt May barely even feels like a character in these movies.

    • @BardiaIsOnYoutube
      @BardiaIsOnYoutube 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnnydi2203 See the difference for me is I'm willing to put up with the bullshit in the ASM movies because the main 2 characters are so damn good. I genuinely couldn't dislike tobey maguire more as Spiderman even if I tried. He's a decent actor in other roles, but him as spiderman puts me to sleep so fast. Same with MJ is those movies. ASMs have their issues, but they give a ridiculously good peter and gwen to us in my opinion and that's what saves these movies

    I think there’s a misconception of 60’s Spider-Man as just Tobey’s interpretation. Tobey kinda works before his bitten by the spider. Pushed around, no confidence, but after he gets bitten that confidence, attitude, and conviction come out. The way he’s portrayed in spectacular Spider-Man is perfect. He doesn’t let Flash get to him the same way, he talks back, cleverly uses his abilities to get back at him (Flash throws something, Peter ducks pretending to tie his shoe). On the flip side, I think Tom misses that edge, smart ass, and hint anger. Maybe because in cartoons and in the comics we can hear peter’s inner thoughts showing that side and filtering it when he talks. Like compared to ultimate Spider-Man Peter, Tom seems to sweet and gullible sometimes.

Peter is looking to have fun with his Dad but as we see in Amazing Spider-Man 2, his dad is making a video journal explaining the oscorp plot, he's gonna have to go on the run to protect his son from Norman, and figure out a way to clear his name. Really bringing that 90s emotionally distant dad energy. Instead of spending the last night with his son or even packing to leave, he literally set up all these elaborate decoys so he could hang out in the basement and lament for 5 minutes until Peter finds that someone broke into his father's office, thank god Peter didn't walk in while the break in happened

The game adaption of this movie followed up on that more having rhino and scorpion and vermin be humans with cross species dna in them to make them animal like

    I know this bothers me way more than it should.....but Nick and Andy keep saying that it was a PT Cruiser in Spider-Man....it was a Plymouth Prowler

    The reason why Peter takes so much guilt and decides to be a hero is because if he didn't get pissed and run away, Uncle Ben wouldn't wonder around at night looking for him and then get killed.

    The way Nick brings up and says the name C Thomas Howell as much as a human possibly can, I expected to recognize the person when I looked them up on IMDB. Nope this is just some random dude that would not be recognizable to even 1 out of 100 people, unless Nick Scarpino was in the crowd. Very strange how often he is mentioned but with how bonkers these re-watches have been I should not be surprised. 10/10 In Review

    Personally I avoid trailers, but it sounded like they were going to discuss no way home. Can any best friends let me know if they talk about the No way home trailer throughout the video? There’s a few rumors that I’d like to keep as rumors until I see it myself lol

    Garfield was a little too cool to be Peter, but I liked his performance none the less. He's actually probably my favorite "Spider-Man." Ditto with Emma Stone as Gwen. All that stuff worked for me, it's just the movie surrounding them is kinda "meh." Still like this film quite a bit, though.

    It is a real shame how this movie (and the sequel) wasted Peter and Gwen casting. The Peter they have in these films is the closest to the Stan Lee material to date. Wasted potential.

    Science Dad is why Peter Parker doesn't become Macho Man Randy Savage.... for Uncle Ben.
    Science Dad is the difference between Spider-Man and some asshole in Portugal nailing Chad Kroeger in the face with a fucking rock during a Nickelback performance.... for Uncle Ben.

    This movie is good. Andrew and Emma have amazing chemistry. Tom and Zendaya are cute, I guess whereas Tobey and Kirsten have NOTHING going on. And Andrew is also the best Peter Parker AND Spider-Man.
