    Dude! You've improved a lot since I last watched your presentation. Your commentary is smoother, and your pitch is very even. Your pronunciation is light-years better. Added to that, your pictures are clear and the camera angles are great, even when you're driving. Try and focus on the buildings you're commenting on, and let the camera rest on them for a few more seconds so the viewer can take in the view. Overall, good job son. Keep it up. Chao!

    It looks very nice. But if it started 13 yrs ago with only few buildings/infrastructure built on site it is progressing very slow. @@livingforever6157 your right, but you may not be used to seeing investors moving quickly and mega infrastracrures finished in just few years, high srappers built in a ahort period of time sold to tenants even before they were built. It reflects how good and business friendly a country is or its goverment. You will be surprised with jakarta, bangkok, manila and vietnam who are 3rd world and yet have modern mega cities. Lagos is on the right track but it just need to watch out on too much chinese loans, they are really not to help but a trap.

    The prices ranges from $700,000 to $2.7 million USD, that’s a lot of money for what looks like a desert with a handful of high rise buildings. This is shocking as Nigeria is known for 24 hrs darkness, kidnappers, Boko Haram, killer herdsmen men and political instability. In a country with the highest number of global poverty the price of an apartment is ridiculous, such money can be invested New York, London or Cape Town with millions still left for other investment. Eko Atlantic is an excellent idea by the Lagos state government but the central government have not invested or injected the needed capital. To then sell an apartment in Nigeria for $2.7 shows that both the buyers don’t fully understand the value of dollars only corrupt politicians will splurge such money.

    This project is not executing faster than other projects in the world. Egypt new capital has started way after and look at what they've already done in term of buildings and infrastructure...
    BTW Dubai had so much island projects that it is easy to selectively pick the ones that were canceled due to 2009 crisis... Small Dubai completed way more buildings and infrastructures in the last 20 years than the big Lagos state. Odd btw how many wealthy (and often flaunting) Nigerians get arrested and even murdered in Dubai...
    Stop being defflective when people are being critical about the mess that is happening, you're not solving anything... In 10 years poorer nations will simply outgrow nigeria ... Nigeria staying a 3rd world country is not an impossible scenario...

    These roads are laughable, a whole victoria island. These roads should be world class, not these silly interlock.

    • @OlabodeJames
      @OlabodeJames 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Interlocks which are a derivative of concrete are better than asphalt for coastal areas with high exposure to rain and swamp - maintenance is lower too, potholes are just a block swap away - asphalt is not sustainable for Victoria Island. For dryer and colder areas, asphalt is better. We should not necessarily copy and paste everything from the West, glad engineers in Nigeria are adapting solutions to fit local challenges.

    I dont see anything to rival cities like Paris, London or New York, but good luck to them. They have to start somewhere. Who knows what the future holds. I hope they focus more on populating the city with proffessionals and providing affordable housing rather than just cramming it with high rise office blocks that nobody can afford to maintain.

    This is my take. This project is over rated to say the least over hyped. Seeing this project after almost 14 years by now, no investors in his right mind would invest his millions on this huge desolate desert. I'm quite certain if the momentum of this snail-like progress is sustained that only 3-4 buildings are erected for almost 14 years, normally investors would back out of their investment and it will take another 60-100 years to have this project completed with fully city vibe experience. However, sad to say that most of the investors (Those who did not back out) will have been already in their graves. According to the documentary I've seen 60% of Lagos are living below the middle income class how can they afford to buy a flat or a condo unit in eko atlantic given their worst condition? The fact say for itself.
