Seeing the facility in darkness, even during the wake up scene really does drive ps the point that everything has been destroyed, shut down and decaying, it actually looks flawless
This is very cool, especially the portal illumination. But I did notice something that should be an easy fix (for you or Xoxor4d): Portal 2 uses OpenGL formatted normal maps, but this technique interprets them as DirectX formatted normal maps. The light ends up reflecting in an inverted way (metal tiles appear to be slightly inset instead of slightly protruding, for instance). To convert from OpenGL to DirectX, or vice versa, you can flip the green layer of the image. Anyway, I can't wait to see more!
best use of RTX ive seen in a while. while itd doesn't look "real" it looks good, not overexposed, not super bright, and not like the sun is 5 feet from earths surface. its cool
yo when I download the rtx mod I lose all input ingame, i cant navigate menus or anything. ik this isnt your mod but id really like to actually be able to play this
Ahh yes, the new bridge release broke some in-game inputs, I opened a ticket with Nvidia to resolve this so hopefully a fix will be out soon. In the meantime, download this earlier version of the bridge and just replace the files github.com/NVIDIAGameWorks/bridge-remix/actions/runs/11489607160 lemme know if you have any questions :)
Its look realy bad if you look at the original, many things are pitch black that would show more of the world and that would not be black in real life, what RTX tries to replicate. It was never meant to run on RTX that way, needs a whole remake with light and global illumination. The TV light in the opening scene would in real life, light up the whole room, but its pitch black. Also when Glados wakes up, background is pitch black, while in the original there is light and fog in the background

many parts are to black for real world lighting, what RTX tries to do. Balance is off

You know how ahead of it's time this game was when the rtx version looks very similar to the regular version
I love that you used the portals as a flashlight at 10:20
I CANT WAIT FOR THIS
I sadly have a GTX but that means I get PORTAL GTX EDITION
Portal 2 lights off edition
Nah, its too dark, the fact that you needed to use the portals to light up the area show it 10:19

Wow okay then, you can actually tweak the values yourself, and yeah you're right but we're probably not getting a portal 2 with official RTX support
