It is not good to fill big pots with empty waterbottles, always use some type of soil. You never know how far roots will grow in a growing season.

Hi James. It depends on what type of plants you’re growing. I use water bottles (with the lids on) because the pots are not as heavy to move from place to place. If I filled a large deep pot with soil, my back would not be happy. 😂 Thank you for commenting. Have a great weekend!
