It has nothing to do with Olympic medals. Zhenya and Anna's personalities seem to coordinate. Before her retirement, Anna was close with Polina Tsurskaya, who also happened to be friends with Evgenia.

Definitely agree with you, I don't think she's being mistreated nor being forced to do all these things. I think Anna genuinely enjoys it but since Zhenya seems to be a public favourite and has the superior star entertainer quality, she's more than happy to let her do most of hosting while still offering her support towards the sport and community.

I also noticed Sasha doesn’t follow teamtutberitze_official when kamila, Anna and ALENA do. But Sasha does follow Eteri. Then again, so does Alena. I’m not suggesting Alena has returned to Team Tutberitze, but that it’s possible to follow old coaches. Sasha follows Svetlana Sokolovskaya (Kondratiuk’s coach), and all the Tutberitze girls follow Plushenko bar Kamila. Perhaps not following the team account is something of note?
This is not to say Sasha would switch coaches to be with her boyfriend but Sokolovskaya also seems to be a good coach. Also, can any Russian speakers clarify from the Channel One video on Mark K whether Sokolovskaya said fiancé, girlfriend or wife about Trusova? It's not fair at all I guess. When Israel was at war with Palestine none of the athletes were banned. And there are many similar examples in the history of sport when the aggressor country wasn't banned from competition. I guess it is only working with Russia. I think there should be some alternatives. For instance, isu can allow the sportsmen compete but without any mention of their country. They would not represent their country, but would compete exclusively for themselves. Time flies and figure skating is a very competitive sport, so I guess we take away the opportunity of many athletes to show themselves. I think the chess community has solved this problem much better.

As many mentioned before: some countries did wars/invasions and were still allowed to compete.
My heart definitely goes for the victims in Ukraine. I'm just saying we should make rules applicable to everyone, instead of picking and choosing which war victims are "important enough to defend" and which victims "can be ignored"...

Cause there's no way Eteri is going to be like "Yeah we're fine with just skating in Russia and getting only one or two awards which are my bread and butter!!!" At the first time when I saw what Eteri said on her Instagram I couldn't belive it. I mean, I live in Poland so when the war on Ukraine broke out, a lot of Ukrainian children, many a time alone without their parents, came here to find some peace. And was it fair when thay had to go to polish schools where they had to listen seven hours a day a language they didn't understand, pretend that they want to pass polish exams in the future even if they don't know the language, only because polish law requires that all children staying in Poland have to go to school somewhere. And all that time feeling absolutely lonely because usually in the entire school there were only few people (mostly other kids from Ukraine) that knew Ukrainian language and sadly not every polish kid knows English enough to freely talk with the unknown one (putting aside that not everyone wants to include a stanger into a group of friends in the middle of a year). Moreover, in some, not so rare, cases they were also living alone in a rented flat or with an unknown family that let them live in their home together with them. But the Eteri's girls are the one that are the most affected in the world because they cannot skate with not-russian athletes. Sure

I hate war because I spent most of my childhood in war time and I am not saying russia shouldn't be punished of course it should be but not through sport! Why? Because the US wasn't banned when they invaded my country in 2003..
Israel wasn't banned after committing a genocide and china was even allowed to host the olymics after their crimes against ayghurs !!!but back then everyone was saying "don't mix sport with politics" so why are we mixing them now??? Japanese and American skaters also have abusive coaches. I'm happy Russia, especially Eteri skaters aren't competing; but they aren't the only problematic coaching team.

@@nl887 quit the whataboutism no other country is doing it as brazenly as Russia and as systematically as Russia. Are other countries skaters constantly injured like the Russian girls who literally need hip surgery, have fused spines and two broken arms in a small span of time ? These injuries are not normal sport accidents they happen so often that they are clearly a result of over training

@@HJ-ju4ui your making it seem as it's only the russians who get abused it's not just them. Athletes from other countries get abused too its just not as public. Athletes no matter what country they are from get abused
American coaches also have a long history of being abusive just like the russian coaches
