@@RecycledRanch I'd say it did a good job. The only problem was when Bayo's meta got to the point where she was nearly broken. I will never say something in a game is completely broken, the devs just didn't realize (or necessarily care) about how wack Bayo was, the sequel was already in development.

No video better captures the pure joy and hype of Day 1 Smash. Back when everybody was just excited to play the game and no competition was involved. I remember being at school and watching this video while waiting for my friend to get to our study hall so we could grind at this for an hour. Good times, man...
